  1. If any of our lads did that, I hope they will be punished
  2. With only away fixtures left for Scunfield/Shefthorpe they have a potential 12 points for grabbing - which would give them victory no matter what Stoke do on 24th - but that's a big ask ! They'd need us to slip up at home, to give comfort !
  3. But perhaps the %age could apply to each category of win - e.g if you complete 7/9 home of which 4 were >3pt wins and 2 were 2pt - you would score 3x9x4/7 + 2x9x2/7 = 20.57 (instead of 14) and you do something similar with aways. OK it's complicated but could be fairer ! Better still they start the season a bit earlier and finish the fixtures ! If they want to do a separate trophy with the top 4 - that can be a bonus !
  4. Strange system - may be better if they did league position based on % of wins to total
  5. We'll be missing Lambo on Saturday, which won't help
  6. Am relieved that it was not worse - hope he gets back to full fitness soon
  7. On FB Tim has said he is a bit sore after last night, and was disappointed with his score. He said the first bike packed up.
  8. Yes Potters one says that now too. The comment says likely will have to use R/R.
  9. It does say guest or R/R - so I assume he's hoping to field someone
  10. According to Potters website the line ups are - Birmingham: Ashley Morris, Tom Perry, Ben Taylor, Paul Starke, Jack Hargreaves, Stefan Nielsen, Tom Armstrong Stoke: Simon Lambert Rider Replacement or guest, Jaimie Pickard, James Sarjeant, Tony Atkin, Tim Webster, Ben Reade, Gareth Isherwood
  11. 10 days ago was not long after his serious accident. He rode Friday in a friendly challenge, he rode for the well known team Trelawney, Thursday is also a friendly, so he can test his recovery with no pressure and yes he is hoping that this will prepare him for Saturday. Not sure why you think that is playing the system. I'm sure Tim would love to race tonight as his aunt and uncle are Dudley fans.
  12. Quote from Tim's Dad on FB - "During the weekend of 5/6 August Tim crashed as Edinburgh and Stoke totally wrecking both of his bikes. At Stoke he was left unconscious, battered and bruised. He rode at Plymouth on Friday 19 August to test his fitness. He felt very tired after his 4 rides. He is simply not fully fit for such an important meeting such as Dudley v Stoke. Tims last meeting at Dudley was severely hampered by a faulty needle jet in his carburettor which made the bike difficult to ride. We wish both teams a successful meeting tonight and hope to see the Heathens in the play offs." I reckon Dudley will rise to the challenge tonight, but we'll get a point (same logic as Martin t, if we win I'll be happy and if we don't it's as predicted !). Just gutted I can't make it.
  13. I remember years ago a US client telling us very proudly that he had set up his business in IOW to get the tax benefits. We said - do you mean IOM ? To which he said "Oh Sh**" !
  14. I'll be there, but then miss the next 2 due to holidays.
  15. I was just in front of you and we had a discussion about Bekker knocking Reade off, and Bekker's subsequent row with someone in the crowd !
  16. Were you the chap with Dudley hat and Somerset top ?
  17. The gaps between fixtures is frustrating - last year in the PL, weather permitting there was a meeting every week - this year only 2 meetings in June with 3 weeks between them- both KOC's - and so far only 1 meeting in July. When is the cut off ? - got to hope we don't get a rainy August ! I can understand the feeder/ 2nd teams avoiding fixtures due to losses - but those clubs where it's the sole team - surely they aren't avoiding fixtures ?
  18. Oh it was there - in fact it ran out about heat 13 - last year one tin lasted me almost the whole season, this year about 3 meetings - just goes to show there's been more to toot at this year ! Just bought another tin for £12 from Halfords - I need to invest in one of the trumpets that Craigie has - will save me a fortune ! Thanks for the info re parades Yes Sarge was a star on Saturday - I can see him going on to be one of the greats (Vog doesn't agree). Tim was also unlucky if he ahdn't conked out he'd have had a max - if he'd conked out 10 yards further on he could have pushed it across the line and still won he was that far ahead ! Another good team effort with great team spirit. Ben and Gaz struggled a bit with the heavier track - but I'm not concerned - they'll turn it around soon enough. Impressed with Stefan - that was a nasty fall, lucky not to be stretchered off, yet in his next heat he was mixing it up big time
  19. You must have been near me too as Vog was stood with us during the racing ! Parades are rare prior to the meeting at Stoke - if we have one it's usually to buy time whilst the generator is fixed, Doc arrives ! I think after all the criticism of past couple of weeks they wanted to make sure it went off on time ! Exactly how does a parade level the playing field ?
  20. I'll be there blasting my air horn !
  21. When we went at the beginning of May, there was more shale in the car park than on the track !
  22. Quite right ! Or should I say lol u r rite !
  23. Only Pickard was unavailable, Webster only rode for the Monarchs because Stoke was off. I doubt we cancelled for one rider.
