Ifs can work one of two ways ! You're right about reserves, our 2011 team did well because we were strong at reserve.

We appear to be against ourselves on 21 April (SGB says this is Buxton away) but not against Dudley at home at all ! That would put a serious dent in our takings ! Yes assume they haven't got round to correcting that yet !

I'd say we get a couple of hundred on a bad night, perhaps a thousand on a good night (not often that many in last two seasons), and double when Dudley visit ? However, I don't know how many would bother to vote on Signal 2 !

As a matter of interest how much does he get paid - or is that secret too ? I suspect, like most of speedway, not much - which may deter those more capable !

Yes at it's best the racing is fantastic - sadly the stock cars have messed it up a bit, but I understand the financial reasons and accept that. As for the state of Loomer - it is the 40th anniversary of the Potters moving there this year and it it doesn't look like anything has been touched since ! But with money so tight, nothings going to be done for some time so we have to get on with it....or hope for a rich benefactor ! I brought some new recruits down at the end of last year - I warned them of the state of the place, but they didn't come for that - they came to see decent racing - and they got that - it may not have been as fast as EL/PL and we lost (see my comments about last years home performance earlier on in the thread)- but it was competetive and exciting and they're hooked and coming back this year. BTW have a look at the comments re 40th anniversary on the Stoke Speedway Facebook page - they're quite funny - Malcolm needs to be wary of anyone carrying scissors !

Let's hope the new commercial manager gets us more publicity. From my own point of view speedway tops all other sports - what made me attend less last year was the weather, and the reruns clashing with family events - so it was just unfortunate. I hope to attend more this year, but with a non-speedway supporting wife it can be difficult ! I think the main trouble last year was the team was poor at home, possibly due to lack of opportunities to practice due to weather, and also the team changed a lot - not the team's fault it was mainly due to injuries - it didn't deter me but I can see how it may have effected others.

Shaun Tedham moves up from the Spitfires into the reserve slot on a 3. 5 down 2 (and 7.93) to go !

Hopefully he'll get paid anyway ! But at NL level, they're lowly paid and may have to travel distances to go - so if there is no financial incentive, you can understand them thinking.....nah !

Where would we get the gossip if they did that ! To be fair to Liam, his comment was an aside, somebody asked if there was going to be an end of season do, and he said he thought they would be as that's when they get their final pay. I can't remember if the 3 year plan was 3 years NL, or back to PL in 3rd year - but whatever it was, I reckon next year is definitely NL !
