WATCHED some great meetings in Gorzow but this track seems to have only one line and a huge advantage from gate 4. Disappointing so far.

Belle Vue V Leicester Friday 25th August
PHILIPRISING replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
BELLE Vue's faith and perseverance with Jack Smith is admirable on the one hand but ultimately it could cost them dearly. -
SEEMS to be the most popular proposition amongst promoters

THINK you are in the minority ... we have had a great response from people who enjoyed it.

GOOD idea in the SS office yesterday ... both teams use the same seven riders in each meeting. Just swap them around

Fixed Race Nights For 2018 Season
PHILIPRISING replied to Perton Wolf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I THINK the most practical outcome is two leagues, with four more tracks joining the Premiership, and racing on a Monday and Thursday. Championship tracks operate Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Premiership tracks desperately require more fixtures. I think Poole had only one or two meetings in June and July when they should be packing fans into Wimborne Road at the height of the summer period. Perhaps the season should start later ... end of April? There are moves in that direction but still a long way to go before any agreement is reached. Ideally one big league, even split regionally, might be the best solution if there were enough riders to go round. A big 'if' though. Some rumours emanating from Sweden suggest that their top division is struggling financially and some riders currently racing there might be forced to look elsewhere. Whether that would actually be good for the UK is a moot point. Frankly, there is no easy answer but from what I'm hearing at least a number of promoters recognise that the ship is capsizing if not sinking and urgent action is required now. -

BUT would there be enough riders to go round? -

ONE league is certainly being talked about. Most Premiership sides have around six doubling up riders already. -
Sgp Wildcards 2018

ON'T think Monster are bothered by that and, of course, they may not be around for much longer. Contract up for renewal shortly. -
Fixed Race Nights For 2018 Season
PHILIPRISING replied to Perton Wolf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
NOT a lot ... most of the time they had a fight RESPECTED Streety, as we all did, but wouldn't exactly say he helped Jason during his SGP days... his cousin Drew was his main man during the World Championship successes PARENTS are obviously invaluable early doors, especially when they have two do all the driving. But once the kids get their own licence it is time to stand or their own feet or seek help from people who don't have the emotional attachment of a parent. WHAT we are hearing at Speedway Star is Mondays and Thursday for the Premiership. But, of course, that would create problems for Championship sides like Ipswich, Sheffield, Redcar, etc. -

LET me clarify that I have nothing against Mrs Lambert personally. But have been around a long time and in close proximity to all of the top riders for over 50 years and have never seen a father in the pits work well let alone a mother. -
Fixed Race Nights For 2018 Season
PHILIPRISING replied to Perton Wolf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
PERSONALLY think one race night per week is not enough ... 50 per cent of the teams wouldn't have a home meeting that week. Two nights would probably work better, certainly as far as fixture planning (remember that?) is concerned. -

HOPEFULLY with TV involved Monday will suit. Lots of riders got back from Poland for Monday meetings this week. -

DROPPED I reckon ... -
CANNOT recall a year when so many SGP riders have been injured and had to miss rounds. NKI will require a 2018 wild card for sure.

ARE you suggesting this happened with Cook?
