  1. AS many including myself have said here previously, the prime objective of the fixed race nights was to avoid fixture clashes between Premiership and Championship tracks.
  2. WHY should you have to break up your team? Everyone doesn't accept that as witnessed above. Don't penalise success. It's ridiculous. One promoter once told me that there was no point trying to bring along young talent because sooner or later he would be forced to see them go elsewhere, probably to a track that did nothing off their own back. I repeat ... madness.
  3. HAVE been saying for donkey's years that a team should be allowed to start a new season with the team that finished the previous one. Fans have their favourites only to see them denied the chance to continue with the same team. Madness.
  4. JUST for the record, Swedish World Finals up to and including 1980 were held on a Friday. IT would take all afternoon and I have more important things to do ... like washing my hair. Probably something you don't do in fantasy land.
  5. TORUN are responsible but if you like to send me the details of your complain t (either by pm or email to phil@pinegen.co.uk) I will ensure BSI pass them on to Torun.
  6. AS far as the original text goes, I could spend all morning disputing most of which is claimed but have far better things to do. Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story springs to mind.
  7. YET to be approved by the BSPA, not all of whom perceive any advantage from having British speedway televised.
  8. I UNDERSTAND that BT Sport have made an offer to the BSPA to televise domestic speedway in 2018.
  9. JUST a correction ... the problem, as perceived by BSI (not me personally) was getting the TV trucks in and out safely. There was then the problem of an American company organising an event in Russia which was not permitted under the sanctions imposed on Russia by the USA at the time.
  10. THE SWC wil definitely be in June. We just don't know where and when. Fingers still crossed for Belle Vue.
  11. I WOULD for Torun but Warsaw is spectacular now that the track is sorted NO it's not... tbc ... to be confirmed
  12. JUST 10 confirmed rounds, Melbourne a maybe. No word on SWC venue.
  13. JIM Coyle, the Glasgow announcer, has written an interesting article about the future of British speedway which is published this week in Speedway Xtra ... Speedway's Star free online digital mag which can be accessed via speedwaystar.net. Well worth a read for those able to do so.

  15. LOOKS like the BSPA are having their wings clipped by the SCB. Published today... THE Speedway Control Bureau have issued the following statement: A Judicial Inquiry was held in Rugby on Tuesday 7th November 2017 to establish and consider the matter of Mr Ged Rathbone and Mr Rob Godfrey both of the BSPA, in the release of Jack Holder to compete in a Polish League event against the rules of both the Speedway Control Bureau and the International Speedway League Bureau. 1) The panel on behalf of the SCB investigated the public statement by Mr Rathbone that Mr Godfrey had advised him to accept a payment for releasing Jack Holder to ride in Poland, when Mr Holder was contracted to ride for Peterborough. The findings of this investigation was no corroborating evidence or witness statements to confirm that this was factual. 2) The panel were also requested to investigate if Mr Godfrey advised Mr Rathbone if he released Jack Holder, he should expect to incur a fine from the SCB at a level substantially less than the payment Mr Rathbone received from the Polish Club. The findings of this investigation was that both parties admitted that a discussion regards the level of fine had taken place. The panel was of the opinion that the BSPA has now taken to itself too much power, and considers that the SCB should be the only body to ensure the rules are upheld. Decisions taken in this matter were not in the best interest of the sport. The panel also recommended no further action taken against Mr Rathbone, but the advice given by Mr Godfrey was both ill chosen and in Breach of Speedway Regulation 3.2.7. Mr Godfrey will now be requested to attend a SCB Court Hearing. ENDS
  16. LONG-time seller of Speedway Star and a really good bloke. Salt of the earth ... rip
  17. 99.9 per cent Thursday ... Sweden have Tuesdays, Denmark have Wednesdays, internationals have weekends including Fridays, Poland whatever they feel like.
