  1. BECAUSE if we aren't careful the only viable speedway in the world will be taking place in one country ... Poland. And that cannot be good for anyone, including Poland.
  2. POLAND had everything in their favour last night. Didn't have to qualify, home advantage, etc. Any suggestion that the track was doctored against them is not only pure nonsense but also sour grapes. Like GB they had a Wroclaw rider but, unlike GB, also a World No. 2. No excuses.
  3. THE SWC isn't. necessarily back next year. A decision will be taken after a thorough post-mortem of the SON by the fIM and BSI.
  4. ON and off the track. Tai clearly likes Lambert and enjoys riding with him.
  5. IT'S a worry I admit. Have spoken to BSI and the FIM about this possibility on many occasions ... at the time no really thinking GB might be the victims!
  6. FROM what we saw last night having two riders from the same country in a race (one can hardly steam ride on his own) makes for compulsive viewing when watching the likes of Woffinden, although fair play to Laguta and Smolinski who ultimately thwarted his efforts to shepherd Lambert home on two occasions.
  7. PETER Collins remaining unbeaten (admittedly four rides each time) in. three successive World Team Cup Finals remains a fantastic achievement.
  8. IF you read earlier post you will know that I said the name of the competition was a nonsense and had to include world in the title.
  9. PROBABLY fair to say that a victory for the national team would be more likely to attract the attention of sports editors than an individual triumph.
  10. NO better form of motor sport, two wheels or four, than speedway at its best
  11. WOULD like to see Lambert get a wild card pick for the GP Challenge on the back of his performance tonight
  12. BSI don't pay the riders. Prize money comes from the FIM.
  13. IT was only his association with Simon Stead that brought him here in the first place
  14. NOT necessarily. Woffinden is the only double World Champion there, Wroclaw is his home track, could go through the card. Lambert can definitely pick up some points. Janowski and Dudek can blow hot and cold during the same meeting, Sweden could be the favourites if (that word) Lindback is at his best, like the look of Russia but Laguta needs to make starts and Emil will probably get the worst gates as he did in Teterow. It is very open. And, of course, two meetings in 24 hours will put a strain. on both riders and machinery. Let's hope it is a humdinger tonight so that we can look forward to tomorrow as well.
  15. TWO out of three ride as a PAIR in each race... I believe subs get a medal in FA Cup Finals even if they don't get on the pitch
  16. HAVE already stated that the FIM got the name wrong and think that is recognised within the ranks of BSI.
  17. WHICH is what I (and Greg Hancock) thought Zagar was looking to do against the Yanks.
  18. YOU made your mind up from day one. Fair enough, that is your prerogative. But what some people on here forget or do not realise is that others, and especially in countries like Denmark, Sweden, Poland, Germany, etc, have a totally different view. And it is a 'world' championship event not a solely British one and the views of others should and will be taken into account.
