EXACTLY. Many suggested that the Sky money would be invested in the infrastructure of speedway in GB but, of course, that didn't happen. -

HE was for a very short time when Pinegen needed some start up capital when we acquired Speedway Star from IPC Magazines. Without his help and that of three others we could not have got going and IPC would simply have shut it down. -

THEN in this case they would be wrong. The BSPA, unable to secure a TV deal, entered into a contract with Terry. No deal, no fee. This is not unusual for these sorts of negotiations especially in TV sports contracts. -

WHAT conflict of interest? He negotiated a deal on behalf of the BSPA, at their behest. -

LET'S not forget that without Terry Russell there would have been no Sky deal and quite rightly he had a percentage of it but not the figure you quote. -

HAVE had my daily newspaper(s) delivered by NewsTeam for over a year and they have not missed once. In fact, paper arrives around 5am in the morning.
-
BEGINNING with the issue dated March 10th, around 60 per cent of printed subscription copies will be delivered not by Royal Mail but NewsTeam, a rapidly expanding company that hand deliver thousands of national newspapers and periodicals every day. At present their distribution network does not cover the whole of the UK so the rest of our subscription magazines will still be handled by Royal Mail. You may have seen newspapers like the Daily Mail, The Sun, The Telegraph and the Daily Mirror offering free delivery along with subscriptions. With more and more newsagents either closing down completely or not offering home delivery, NewsTeam are rapidly filling the gap but obviously the more newspapers and mags they can deliver the more viable their company becomes. If we do experience any problems (which we certainly don't envisage) we can immediately switch a subscription from NewsTeam back to Royal Mail. In either case we will continue to offer a digital link to any print subscriber not receiving their copy of SS up to and including Friday of each week. We are indebted to all those who have remained loyal to SS, no matter how you purchase it. Thank you and hopefully better times lay ahead.

FROM the Daily Telegraph (maybe substitute speedway for county cricket) ... County cricket hopes that its elderly fanbase means it will be the first sport to allow spectators to return to grounds when the Championship season begins on April 8. Plans under discussion include admitting only spectators who have had a Covid-19 vaccine at least three weeks previously — the point at which the doses are highly effective — to further reduce the likelihood of transmission in grounds. Positive news about the rollout of the vaccine is leading to growing optimism among county chiefs, with everyone over the age of 50 due to have received one dose by the end of March.
