  1. WILL check this morning ... if you are back on RM it will start next week. Will orange fr a copy of this week to be mailed today.
  2. IT'S getting better ... the last two weeks were manic. Lots of people called today expressing their satisfaction with NewsTeam delivery but a few, like yourself, are not. Every delivery made by NewsTeam is logged at the exact time it is made and that info is passed to us. What none us can understand is how a delivery is registered as being made but isn't. It is not just in one area but countrywide. However, as previously stated the percentage of magazines not reaching their destination is less than 10 per cent.
  3. HAVE you called or emailed the office. Need your postcode to investigate. Can switch you back to Royal Mail...
  4. JUST curious ... who do you guys bet with?
  5. THANKS for the info which we pass on to either NewsTeam or Royal Mail ...
  6. FULLY understand. The problems, although rare, are at the point of delivery ... the actual person making the delivery. NewsTeam can track when and where deliveries are made (bit like Amazon when they leave a parcel with you) and are chasing up the people responsible for those not reaching their destination. Thanks for your patience.
  7. REPLACEMENT copies of the March 27th edition arrived in Surbiton this afternoon and we managed to mail them out. Let us know your postcode and we will send this week's too. Our apologies...
  8. THANKS. Ultimately it is down to the actual person who delivers and we do pass on complaints to NewsTeam to make known any complaints. But, so far, the vast majority of comments have come from people who are delighted to receive their mag in the early hours of a Thursday.
  9. WE will put you back with Royal Mail if you let me know your postcode either on here or subs@pinegen.co.uk We don't doubt that you have had problems but the new outfit are not "totally inept." Those who have had problems, either with no delivery or a damaged copy, amount to less than one per cent of the 2000 being handled by NewsTeam. They also deliver hundreds of thousands of magazines and newspapers on a daily basis. The problem is at the point of delivery. Of course their service saves Pinegen money over Royal Mail and after the past 12 months every penny counts. We did furlough some staff but although they have been brought back only for two or three days a week. We have moved our office to cheaper premises ... all to help combat the considerable loss in revenue from sales of SS and the absent of much other work previously carried out by Pinegen. We do not charge our subscribers for delivery but that doesn't mean we are not responsible for you getting your mag on time (Thursday or Friday) and in good condition. It is too late to put you back on RM direct from the printers next week (subs info already sent because of Easter) but will mail out a copy from Surbiton of the March 27th, April 3rd and April 10th editions.
  10. NO difference in cost. Will make the switch but will probably not happen next week because of Easter we have had to send subs file to printers already.
  11. WE have had some teething problems with around one per cent of the 2,000 subscription copies being delivered by hand. Hopefully this will have been resolved this week but anyone who wishes to revert to Royal Mail should send their name and postcode to subs@pinegen.co.uk
  12. Need your name and postcode ... reply here or by email to subs@pinegen.co.uk
  13. THEY were mailed out today... if you wish to revert to Royal Mail need your name and postcode please
  14. DON'T think it is a blanket ban on all over-70s ... if (big if) it happens would only apply to those with specific health issues which might impair their ability to be safe on the road.
  15. THE Government has today announced the latest tranche of funding from the winter phase of its Sport Survival Package. Speedway clubs have been offered £300,000 in loan support. Rob Godfrey, Chairman of British Speedway, said: “Government and Sport England have been very supportive of the needs of British Speedway clubs and the effect the pandemic has had on them. “Taking the time to understand our sport, they have worked closely with a number of speedway clubs to understand their needs, and ultimately provided this crucial funding to help them make it to the starting tapes in May. “We hope this is the start of support for speedway with our most vulnerable clubs accessing early funding support.”
  16. THANKS ... we are still chashing down some copies
  17. KT and NP are employed by BSI to provide commentary on the world feed from the SGPs. Not by BT.
  18. IN each of the past two weeks NewsTeam have taken over the delivery of around 2,000 subscription copies of Speedway Star. This move was brought about following a winter of problems with Royal Mail (often because of staff shortages exacerbated by Covid, a backlog at sorting offices, etc). NewsTeam had built up a solid reputation for delivering daily newspapers and were expanding their portfolio. By coincidence I have had my newspapers delivered by them for over a year and have not missed a single day. That said, around 50 copies have failed to reach their destination, for all sorts of reasons. It is a very small percentage but one is one too many. We take seriously the loyalty of those subscribers who have stayed with us throughout this difficult period. We are working closely with NewsTeam to identify those who have not received their copy or have found it in a less than acceptable condition. The cost of delivering SS to subscribers, whether by Royal Mail or NewsTeam, is borne by Pinegen Limited. An annual subscription saves £36 as against purchasing from a retail outlet and there is no delivery charge. But that does not mean that we do not shoulder the responsibility for delivering our product on time and without damage. There are some addresses that are not suitable for NewsTeam delivery and, as these become apparent, we will endeavour to switch them back to Royal Mail. Many subscribers have expressed their delight at receiving their SS as if by magic in the early hours of Thursday or Friday. Satisfied customers far outweigh those who are not but, as stated, we take each individual case seriously and will look to improve as quickly as possible.
  19. WHAT is your postcode .... if you want access to the digital version send an email to ssdigital@pinegen.co.uk
  20. WE had asked NewsTeam to instruct those delivering SS that they push mag through a letterbox. Teething problems but we appreciate the patience of you guys.
