  1. WATCHED recording this week, still brilliant but doesn't compare with being there. And confirmed view at the time that Emil, has he has done historically, chose the wrong gate. Had won twice off four, would have been out in the dirt rather than pinched on the line where he lost momentum.
  2. ON a personal level but there was huge respect between them as promoters
  3. PETER was never a promoter and likely to get the sort of control that JB sought and, indeed, expected.
  4. IT was quite simple. John required full autonomy and, at the last minute, the members of the BSPA chickened out of giving him full control and, basically, JB told them what they could do with it.
  5. THE question has been asked and answered countless times... and the answer is always the same. It was an opportunity lost.
  6. BUT they are on the shelves at Tesco, Sainsbury, Asda, etc. Had we continued to pay WH Smith their 'ransom' money we might not be anywhere! There will be changes to the manner in which subs copies are sent in October. Ayres will feature in the future. Thanks for your final comments.
  7. ONLY just joined the conversion, having been lucky enough to be in Wroclaw for what I consider to be the greatest speedway meeting I have witnessed. 23 outstanding races, fantastic atmosphere inside the stadium. The skill, the speed, the courage, no better form of motorsport. Sat with former F1 driver Mark Webber and he was drooling at the spectacle. The track at the Olympic Stadium must now be consided better than even Torun and the renovations that have taken place (first went there 49 years ago to see Ivan Mauger complete his World Finals hat-trick) are tremendous. What a night...
  8. WOULD have been even better if he was one round away from winning the title again...
  9. WHAT it show is if you put 16 riders of similar ability and similar equipment on a proper race track you will get great entertainment...
  10. DOESN'T make him a bad person or a bad rider. If he gives 100 per cent that's all you can ask of anybody. And the time he takes to interact with fans is a big plus.
  11. TAI did say he wasn't sure about Cardiff and is having more scans this week so Wroclaw would appear very premature
  12. GOOD racing is as much down to the riders as the track. Track preparation can never be an exact science and develops as the dirt is naturally spread and creates different racing lines.
  13. BLAMING the track as usual... perhaps the riders aren't good enough to make the best of it. Just saying ...
  14. MIGHT be more of a case that they haven't notified the FIM that they are ready to resume. Hard to see Greg returning this season and judging by Tai's X-rays on his broken back earlier this week he still has a way to go.
  15. YES, a few years back but like most if not all Polish towns they have probably improved the service.
  16. MAXIMUM for Glasgow, top scored for KL last week. He is the outstanding rider in the CL and almost all of the British Finalists ride there too. Given his knowledge of the NSS, quite fancy his chances.
  17. GOOD idea. Making a rare SGP trip to this one ... was at the first one there in 1995. Times have changed.
