CANNOT argue with any of that...

Polywrap is used for lots of applications, from direct mail pieces to magazines and catalogues, and for keeping weekend newspapers and their supplements together. Every week, in fact, millions of polywrapped items make their way into the hands of consumers and businesses. And there’s good reason for that, polywrap is light, strong and weather resistant, making it extremely effective at the task it is required to fulfil. It is also, despite perceptions to the contrary, recyclable. “Polywrap is LDPE [low-density polyethylene] and as such is one of the most easily recyclable materials on the market. The trouble is local authorities don’t want to take it back because it’s so light,” explains Malcolm Atkinson, managing director at Hereford-based flexible films extruder and printer Alfaplas. Unfortunately, the UK’s frankly dysfunctional recycling systems doesn’t help. As the BBC recently reported, across the UK there are 39 different sets of rules in force for plastics recycling. In the absence of a national standard, no wonder end-users are confused about what to do with their polywrap-type waste.

SPOT on...

I REPEAT ... at this stage One Sport aren't involved and there is a very good chance that they won't be. More than evens I would suggest right now.

BSI people work for IMG so they cannot just carry on unless Discovery try and acquire the current team. For the record: Phil Morris is Race Director... he would not be happy being demoted to Clerk of the Course
-
IT'S certainly not a myth.
-
IT is pure speculation speculation that One Sport will run the series and even if they did why would they jettison Cardiff which is a proven money-spinner. Also the FIM still have to approve the calendar.
-
WHO are these Poles you are taking about? The right holders are Discovery ultimately owned by one of the richest companies in the world. The SGP in Warsaw is heavily subsidised by the PZM who use it as a showpiece meeting for Polish speedway and absorb the losses.
-
WHY do they make things so complicated?
-
YOU already can although not, I believe, the UHD channels which require a separate BT box ... On December 15 2017, we announced an agreement with BT which means that Skycustomers will be able to include BT Sport as part of their overall Sky subscription for the first time. ... In the meantime, you can still get BT Sport on your Sky box - and you don't need a subscription to BT Broadband to do this.

SEE that Doyle has scored again for Swindon. No rest for the poor lad. Won't be long before he's back on his speedway bike

Your chance to make things right

MOST BSI employees don't hang around for more than two years. They see BSI/IMG as a stepping stone. The exception is Gemma Fordham, an absolute diamond who would be invaluable. -

NO actual evidence (at this stage) that One Sport will be involved although the Polish propaganda machine otherwise known as sportowefakty thinks otherwise. -
WAS just pointing out that it is possible that Jason will race five days on the trot ... and will love every minute of it.

DOYLE has signed for a Danish team
-
THE interview with Adrian Smith is in Speedway Star this week ...
-
DOYLE could end up riding Sunday (Poland), Monday (GB), Tuesday (Sweden), Wednesday (Denmark) and Thursday (GB). That's a lot of travel let alone racing even for a workaholic like JD.
-
YOU presume wrong ... but the company that pulled out cited a lack of resources (money)
-
SOON ... probably next week (I'll have to ask the Editor!)
-
I DON'T have an answer to that. Much might depend on the weather on the day. However, I am firmly in favour of British speedway having TV exposure given the number of opportunities it provides for the promoters either individually or more preferably as a unit. Whether they avail themselves of it is a different matter.
-
THE negotiations for a new TV contract were led by Belle Vue promoter Adrian Smith, who will shortly feature in an interview with Speedway Star about how the new deal came about and was concluded. All sorts of rumours abound, including a staging fee of £10,000, with the rest of the total sum going into a BSPA 'pot' to be distributed. Who will handle the actual production on behalf of Eurosport (Discovery) has yet to be determined to the best my knowledge although one heavyweight contender has withdrawn
-
IF I could bring you a copy I would ... My sincere apologies about the problems you are having acquiring Speedway Star. The best I can do is this: email me your name and address and one will be posted to you on Monday phil@pinegen.co.uk Philip Rising

YES... our distribution company (the same as we used prior to changing printers (in fact Bourne is far nearer their depot than was Cardiff) have admitted to several problems, especially Hemel Hempstead which handles a large area. This is as frustrating for us as you and totally out of our control but we suffer the consequences. I can only apologise, for what it's worth. This is the latest from them: As advised there has been a problem with the supply to the Hemel Hempstead wholesale branch so all stores supplied by them would be late on-sale. Logistics have confirmed copies have now been received at Hemel and are going out to retail asap. But that's a bit like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. We have also had some problems with mailed subscriptions. Once again, this is an issue that baffles us. SS is now actually printed earlier (Tuesday evening) than was previously the case and is one of many magazines collected in bulk by Royal Mail from Warners in Bourne earlier than was the case from Surbiton on a Wednesday morning. Although late deliveries are relatively isolated cases they are nonetheless frustrating. Off to put my head in a bucket of cold water ...
