One Day World Final?
PHILIPRISING replied to Sotonian's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
CARE to explain? -
MINE arrived today. Postal service very erratic but copies still leaving printers in the early hours of Wednesday. Dave is back in the office for a short period on Monday morning.

NOTHING to do with the BSPA ...

All at Speedway Star are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Eric Linden, our founder and first-ever editor in 1952. Quite simply, without Eric, there would be no Speedway Star. Our thoughts are with his family and we will have a full tribute to Eric in next week's issue

BSI certainly don't have their heads in the sand and nor are they living in cloud cuckoo land.. They and the FIM are communicating daily to try and salvage and maintain some sort of schedule while effectively working in the dark, not knowing when sporting events such as theirs will be allowed to take place. All sorts of provisional dates and venues are being considered.

THINK it largely depends oil the scale of your business. We have enquired of our bank and been told that a monthly direct debit facility isn't available. Might also have something to with the sum of money involved. It could be that our bank (maybe others too) are not interested in direct debits for sums as little as £10.
-
THANKS for your thoughts. Monthly direct debits are a problem with banks. You can of course renew every 13 weeks and online editions can be purchased over a variety of periods.
-
THANK you
-
JUST happy that you are still reading it. Sorry for the delay in delivery but that is something that is out of our control...
-
THANKS ...

WHY not go digital?

THANKS

IT is indeed but that doesn't mean we should do everything we can to help, which Dave certainly does.

BEST to call 020=83351113 before 2.30 ... can be done THANKS ... we had over 100 calls this week from subscribers who didn't get a copy through the mail as usual. Think this could be a continuing theme with Royal Mail. Call the office and Dave will send one although at £1.40 postage a time it could prove costly.
-
WILL explore...

SORRY that you haven't had your sub copy yet. Read today that Royal Mail are suffering from staff shortages and some deliveries maybe be haphazard. If no joy on Monday call 020-8335 1113 and Dave will send you a copy.
-
THANK you both ...

IF you usually acquire your copy of SS from the McColl's chain of newsagents, you can have it delivered to your door.
-
THANKS, much appreciated.

WE were planning to get hold of Andreas Jonsson for an in-depth ‘farewell’ piece looking back on his career but we deliberately decided to delay it so that we could also get him to go through this year’s SGP field for the season preview issue, tying the two together. The farewell piece would have been in today’s edition, and Jonsson’s SGP preview would have been next week in the season preview. Obviously, present circumstances have totally wrecked our best paid plans! We can still do the farewell piece in the coming weeks though!

JUST to clarify, copies for subscriptions that started this week were mailed out this morning direct from our office. For the duration of the subscription, copies will be mailed direct from printers on a Wednesday. WE realise that with no actual speedway taking place our editorial team have to work extra hard to provide content that is worthy of your money. We will do our best to weather what is undoubtedly the biggest storm Speedway Star has ever faced. Thank you ...

WHEN did you ask for it to start? If in doubt call 020-83351113
