DO you mean RoyalMail? actually think that is a bit harsh. The concept of delivering mail from anywhere in Britain to any address in Britain the next day is both daunting and admirable and I suspect that pre-pandemic more often than not they did just that. We have added the names of our own staff to the subs list to monitor when their copy arrives and from my own point of view in Surrey nine times out of ten it is here on a Thursday.

THE magazine is printed on a Tuesday evening and collected by Royal Mail in the early hours of Wednesday from printers. As previously stated, having paid for first class mail next day delivery should be the norm but right now it is very erratic. The only consolation is that so much of the current content is not dated and, hopefully, provides entertaining reading whenever you get it.

Poland’s PGE Ekstraliga took a giant stride forward in its restart efforts after riders, mechanics, club staff and officials all tested negative for Covid-19.Nearly 500 people were tested with no positive tests – a huge victory for the competition, which is set to launch behind closed doors on June 12, with practice sessions set to get underway on Friday. Strict controls to limit the spread of the virus have been put in place and foreign riders who do not live in Poland were required to spend two weeks in quarantine before entering Polish society.With this period now completed, clubs gathered their riders for mass testing – costing the PGE Ekstraliga 200,000 PLN (over £40,000). PGE Ekstraliga president Wojciech Stepniewski is delighted with the results, but insists there will be no room for complacency as teams and officials work to bring the sport back safely. He told the league’s official website: “This is great news and we are very happy above all from a purely human point of view that all tested players, mechanics as well as club employees, functionaries and referees are all 'clean'.But we will not rest on our laurels and we want our sanitary regime to work well in the next stages of the thawing of Polish speedway. There is nothing else for us to do but prepare for the start of training and then PGE Ekstraliga matches.” Measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus include matches taking place without fans, with strict limits in place on the number of workers allowed into the stadium and pit area. Riders will be limited to one mechanic each and the body temperature of anyone entering the pits will be checked.

OBVIOUSLY not at the moment ... the lack of speedway raises concerns for all of us but I have no doubt that if fans can attend SGPs in 2021 then TPT will be there to assist.

WHAT makes you think that?

JAMES Easter has been a mate for more years than I can remember and both he and TPT have made a tremendous contribution (s) to speedway over the years. Unlike some of his predecessors, when thousands travelled to World Finals, James has remained loyal to speedway and puts his heart, sole and considerable reputation into his tours. No one is forced to go with them but hundreds who do come back every year because they like the itineraries, know that the hotels and travel arrangements will be perfect and that everything is taken care of. I make no apology for any favourable references to TPT.

Amidst ongoing concerns regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus) and in accordance with local government health directives, the FIM, BSI Speedway, ACCR (Autoklub České Republiky) and the Marketa Stadium promoter have rescheduled the 2020 Anlas Czech Republic FIM Speedway Grand Prix from June 13 to September 19, 2020. The decision was made after careful consideration and consultation with the health and safety of everyone involved in the event remaining our top priority. All purchased tickets for the event will remain valid for the revised date, and ticket sales will re-commence on August 1.
