Nicki Or Chris?
PHILIPRISING replied to June01's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
IT rained for most of practice this evening but didn't affect the track. The roof works perfectly unless there is a high wind and the rain comes down horizontally. Forecast for tomorrow is more rain but the track should be okay. Lots of different lines today and very fast. Heat 13 ... will be unlucky for one but will it be crucial? -

SEE the video link posted elsewhere or go to http://speedwaygp.com/news/article/1921/holder-behind-the-scenes Looks like it will be wet in Torun tomorrow. Hope the roof does its job and the championship decider doesn't come down to a wet lottery. -
DEFINITELY worth nine minutes of your time ... can take a while to buffer but stick with it http://speedwaygp.com/news/article/1921/holder-behind-the-scenes

BUT all those young Danes had come through the ranks of junior speedway and so on. Until we have a proper infrastructure in place to help these kids we will never have a rich vein of talent to build for the future. -

NO he didn't. Has nothing to do with Harris. I am asking where are we going to find some authentic young riders to match those being unearthed in Denmark and Poland, let alone Australia. -

I UNDERSTAND your sentiments Dave but where are these youngsters going to come from? They wont just appear like magic. -

UNLESS involved with an incident like the one in Malilla, Nicki will rarely do an TV interviews during a GP and that is his prerogative. Holder rarely says no even when knocked about in Gorican. Don't see how that could be construed as playing to the camera. In fact most of the GP boys are very accommodating when it comes to interviews, Hancock and Crump in particular, but Nicki likes to stay in his own bubble and we know that. -

EACH to his own but surprised how unpopular Holder appears to be on here. Would it be the same if he rode for any team other than Poole in the UK? Personally think that Nicki's experience and "been there done it" will be a big help but the track at Torun will suit Holder much more than Vojens. All to play for and the draw could be crucial. -

YOU are very good with stats SCB so I will take at face value your "majority of Brits" but presume you just mean on this forum. But how do we (you, I and the rest of the speedway fans in the UK) know what the majority of British fans actually want as far as representation in the SGP is concerned? Frankly, I don't think it has much if anything to do with bums on seats at Cardiff. I happened to agree with you that Woffinden probably wouldn't sell a shed load of tickets. But the bigger picture is British representation in the SGP and there are many who put a high value on that. Woffinden can be his own worst enemy (my advice would be shut down your twitter account and generally keep your mouth shut for a while) but he has genuine talent on a speedway bike and we (Britain) should be trying to help him develop into the rider he has the potential to be. I would offer him one more piece of advice: go and see Erik Gundersen for a week. Sharpen your skills and learn some humility and PR. And while I am in an advising mood: anyone who hasn't looked at speedwaystarXtra this week (accessed via speedwaystar.net) should take a peep and see how Gundo does it. Sunday sermon over ... the pub's open! -

WELL put and Vaculik has proved that his Gorzow win was no fluke. MJJ has plenty of time. -
WHATEVER ... the fact is that Ward is the best rider currently outside the GP, has the capability to not only win GPs but also the whole shooting match and is box office on TV and for a live audience. I wouldn't argue that he needs to shape up away from the track but he only has to look at Holder and see how he has matured while still possessing some of that raw Aussie charm!

THINK you might be right. Vaculik will be relieved Iversen made it.
