  1. APPARENTLY one reason why some think I am (or at least was) annoying ... they cling to the asset system like limpet mines.
  2. YOU should buy the magazine more often... and, as I've told you countless times, I stood down as Editor of Speedway Star about 16 years ago.
  3. JUST goes to show how much better British speedway would be without all this asset nonsense
  4. BUT Monster haven't been involved as long as the SGP has been going...
  5. APPARENTLY Leigh Adams is planning to attend the New Zealand GP next April ... will be great to catch up with him in Auckland.
  6. IT'S probably historic going right back to the days of Fearman, Mawdsley, Dunton and Bamforth, who actually tried to have Speedway Star banned from all tracks. I was a lot more vocal when editor of Speedway Star but that's not my role now. Do know that some members of the BSPA get narked about comments on the bsf and you are certainly right that some have very thin skins. Has always (and still does) amused me when one promoter complains to SS about comments made by another promoter instead of actually confronting him rather than us. I DON'T seem to be explaining myself very well ... an opinion as to the actual sequence of events on the night, who said what to whom, etc, as I didn't see it. I have just said that I thought it was a fiasco.
  7. WHAT was the straw that broke the White Knight's back?
  8. NOT sure many will agree that I am a defender of the BSPA. Was actually told by a member of the MC in Torun that I was their "public enemy number one." I was flattered. And you obviously didn't read what I wrote about the BV v Poole fiasco. I stated repeatedly that I wasn't there and didn't see it on TV so had no opinion. I did offer an view from an ex-rider who was there but again pointed out that I was in no position to agree or disagree. There is no doubt that it was a another sorry episode for British speedway but no one has actually produced any firm evidence that there was, as some suggest, a conspiracy. Sure, I jump to the defence of Nigel, for two reasons. One, he is a mate and that's what mates do. And, second, I honestly believe and and KT do a first rate job and exactly what their paymasters want.
  9. BYDGOSZCZ not out of the frame but not as clear cut as it was...
  10. SORRY, told that in confidence but I am sure all will be revealed before long. Actually, it is now five...
  11. BEEN told that before! Just testing how observant you all are...
  12. SKY and BT dictate to the Premier League when they demand that selected matches are on at 1.30pm or 5.30pm on a Saturday, 1.30pm or 4pm on a Sunday and Monday nights. They govern the fixture list and as long as they are paying the vast sums they are it will be forever thus. NINE more "likes" today ... that makes over 40! Nice to strike a chord sometimes...
  13. UNDERSTAND that four different venues are still being considered for just one date... Gorzow still has a year to run on contract, as does Torun.
  14. WELL, as none of us know - including the Sky production team - he could hardly say otherwise.
  15. NEVER had so many (over 30 so far) notifications 'liking a post' than for my original on this thread ... think that shows which way the tide is going.
  16. TO use your Martin Tyler analogy ... virtually the whole time Martin is on air he has action taking place on the pitch. Out of a two hour plus speedway meeting, Nigel (and Kelvin) have only around 15 minutes of action. It is a very different scenario. At the GPs, they are live for three hours, with no breaks, with about 25 minutes of actual speedway. Of course they rev (literally) up the commentary when the races are on.
  17. NO real comparison commentating on speedway races than soccer or cricket. And, yes, Sky (and BSI with regard to SGPs) do want, demand and love their passion and style.
  18. AND what do you think the guys shouting in his ear from the Sky truck wanted ...silence?
  19. YOUR hatred of all things Pearson knows no bounds does it? It may have escaped your attention that Nigel is working for Sky. Why would he be impartial? Sky want and love the play-offs. So do thousands of others, as evidenced by the crowds that attend them.
  20. CANNOT really see any vacant dates on the European schedule for an additional Grand Prix in 2014 so if Germany were to come in - and it is certainly being discussed although at one stage the availability of the stadium for next year was an issue - still believe it would be at the expense of a third round in Poland, which makes sense seeing that they already have the SWC. BSI's plans for expansion are probably more focused outside of Europe than within.
  21. OR could be at the expense of one of the Polish rounds ...
