EXACTLY and the more time goes by the more credence is given to the possibility that there has been a procedural error. Also, the timing of any ban should it now come is interesting. Too late to pull him out of Poole's fixture this evening, tomorrow he will already be en route to both Gorzow and Zielona Gora, on Monday he is at Lakeside and on Tuesday in Sweden. Any action by the FIM that is subsequently over-turned would also open them to possible litigation from his clubs in Britain and Sweden who cloud claim damage to their business at the tail end of the season. It's a mess... -

IF my memory serves me correct, and I was there, Stefan Danno was deliberately tested because of his behaviour and the unmistakable smell of alcohol. Nothing suspicious about Ward's behaviour on Sunday morning. -

THE doctor in association with the referee... RIDERS names are taken from a random ballot... -

THERE may be faults at the FIM but being unduly influenced by an outside agency like a major sponsor is not one of them. I would suggest that their lawyers are beyond reproach. I am sure there are countless cases where the police have made mistakes with alcohol testing and the perpetrators have got off scot free and that's just the way it is. If (big, big if still) this is also the case with Darcy then he is as entitled as any to treated accordingly. BUT surely the FIM will only deal with what falls within their jurisdiction. Not sure that his past record on an Australia highway is of any consequence in this case. -

SURELY better to test before they ride than afterwards ... better still to test all of them -

IT'S out of the hands of BSI let alone Monster Energy. It could be argued that he has only admitted that he did drink the night before and failed a test but if (and we are only talking hypothetically here) that test was illegal in any way and is declared null and void then he would be free to continue racing. Can blame Darcy for a lot of things but not cocking up the test.... -

NO, any tests are done before the meeting. -

THINK it is the FIM causing MAYBE he has taken legal advice, would be foolish not to, but the delay is in Geneva. Who knows, perhaps there are problems with the actual testing, was the correct procedure adhered to, was the equipment properly calibrated, did the Jury handled the matter according to the regulations and so on. -

NOTHING to suggest that it is Darcy causing the delay... AS far as I know only had breath tests in Daugavpils. Quite often these tests at GP events are handled by the police. Think it was the doctor in Latvia. Possible that they may also have taken a blood sample. -

SPOKE to FIM this morning and Ward's case is still in the hands of the lawyers who will determine the correct procedure going forward. No indication of how long that will take ... probably no telling with lawyers involved. -

EVIDENCE suggests that the Danish speedway fans, most of whom reside in Jutland, are not willing to undertake the cost and time of travelling to Copenhagen and it also seems that far fewer Swedes made the journey these past two years ... hardly surprising really. Still looks like 12 GPs on the calendar next year. -

Who Would Have Won?
PHILIPRISING replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
DON'T think Muller would have fared well in a GP series. Vastly under-estimated as a speedway rider but he didn't really enjoy the shorter form. Managed to pull it off on one occasion when his mind set was perfection. Riders like Carter and Lee would have enjoyed the GP I fancy. Would Mauger have won more or less in that period? Same with Olsen? -

THANKS for the link... interesting -
BANK holiday and it p**ing down... no surprise. So, to help pass the time, if the GP system had been introduced in 1985 rather than 1995, who do you think would have been World Champion between 1985 and 1994?
