  1. I HAVE but as I have said many times I'm no longer involved in the day-to-day editorial production of SS. However, I have passed your post on to the current editor with a 'suggestion' that they take this on board.
  2. WITH Swindon without probably the best No.1 in the league, BV would have hoped Zagar would have had a field day but like so many of his ilk these days he is terribly inconsistent. Paid eight from five is a poor return from a SGP rider especially in a track that should suit him. Also, another example of matches being determined by the respective 6/7s ... 12 for BV, 21 for Swindon. But at least racing at the new stadium is under way to temper the disappointment of losing.
  3. SERVICED I'm told. Some riders may have the money but others certainly will not and of course may try and continue as long as possible. In the sam,e conversation I was told that sales of GMs are significantly down so there is obviously some intent amongst riders to avoid splashing out on new engines when their 2015 models have performed well. Craig Cook is a case in point. He finished last year going like a train, breaking several track records (and, no, he wasn't on a biggy) so to a layman like me why wouldn't he put those in the garage and wheel them out this season and carry on where he left off. I'm one of those stupid golfers who thinks that buying a new club will make me a better player but it rarely does. And it's not my living. The trend amongst riders in recent years has been to rush out and buy new engines under the assumption that they will go faster and faster but that obviously isn't the case. If you look at Jason Doyle and Andreas Jonsson you would class them has two riders of similar ability but one absolutely knows what he wants from his engines and how to get it while the other does not.
  4. INTERESTINGLY I was told today that only one rider at the Slovenian SGP had new engines for this year. And that Zmarzlik, for example, only does 10 heats on a GM before he has it serviced. In contrast Freddie Lindgren, who made the decision to purchase GTRs, has been using them for several meetings without any recourse to tuners. He looked plenty fast at Coventry and seems to have got his mojo back. In contrast the two Lakeside riders (Brighter and Kerr) have been struggling on their Jawas and the reality is that scoring three or four points a meeting simply isn't going to make riding a viable proposition.
  5. I THINK you will find that Craig Cook has invested heavily this year and no one can fault his desire to move forward but, at the same time, he has to pay the bills and the poor lad has not even had a home BV meeting yet. Riding for Peterborough will do him far more good that clicking his heels waiting for his Polish team to actually give him a chance.
  6. HOW many of these qualifiers do you think would enhance the current SGP line-up and, if so, who would you swap?
  7. KNEW a guy who bought his fish and chips there but drove all the way home to Surrey before eating them. How weird is that?
  8. I'M told the Fanzone will be by City Hall ... perhaps our local posters can elaborate
  9. DON'T think Nicki and Anna Mette were ever married but they have two kids.
  10. ONE of the problems facing Sky going to Poole is trying to find fixtures that will be a close contest
  11. IT was the infamous covered pyramid but I think the lessons learned then have drastically changed the manner in which the material is stored. Also, the big problem that year was when the dirt was transported from the storage site to the Millennium it was pouring with rain and by the time it arrived was soaked.
  12. I'm led to believe that the track will go in this week with a full scale test, al la Cardiff 2015, a week tomorrow. And a different (bigger, wider) track than last year with the pits outside rather than inside the stadium. Material used for laying the track has been stored inside since last year's debacle and constantly measured for moisture content.

  14. THEY are not BT's cameras ... they take the World feed just as did Sky (other than at Cardiff) and Eurosport. Natalie Quirk has been excellent, as has Scott in that role.
  15. IF you think Ole and Nicki were best of buddies you are very much mistaken.
  16. BARUM supply each rider with five tyres but they are at liberty to use another homologated tyre of their own choice.
  17. THAT would have been down to the man in charge of the contractors. I'm sure he oversaw all the other building work at the stadium.
