  1. THE key figure could be Nicholls, the match winner at Lakeside. By his own admission hasn't gone as well as he would have liked at the NSS. If he can fire on all cylinders BV will be tough to beat.
  2. NOW its the time? It's been that time for years.
  3. WHO was available? And at least we had no guests in either meeting. THINK Sky believe the result is a foregone conclusion so won't be giving it the full coverage and cost of an outside broadcast. Presume a bit like the races they showed from the NSS last Bank Holiday Monday. BV will be peeved if they don't get their £10,000 broadcast fee.
  4. FULL explanation in Speedway Star this week ... whether you like it or not is a different matter.
  5. FULL explanation in Speedway Star this week ...
  6. HAVE frequently spoke to BSI about alternating the team and pairs competitions.
  7. PROBABLY because they had paid the FIM for the rights to a Pairs competition.
  8. NOT much going on after the first bend. Riders couldn't go out wide. But after all the rain suppose it was a decent meeting.
  9. LET'S not get ahead of ourselves ... we still don't know whether he will accept an invitation.
  10. RATHER have him sooner ... qualifiers always a minefield, an engine failure, fall caused by another rider. I'd wager a bet than if you asked 1000 people whether they would like to see Emil get a wild card the vast majority would say yes.
  11. BUT why should someone on the MC, Chris van Straaten for example, try and help Poole who are Wolverhampton's opponents in the play-offs. That doesn't make sense.
  12. RE Kelvin's coaching role ... think he has been a little disappointed at the attitude of some riders. Don't really want to listen, know it all, been there, done it but without the tee shirt.
  13. I'M the last person to ask about speedway's rulebook, but ... It's obviously legal if that's what MC decided on. As long as Lindback's average is below Andersen's then it's perfectly legal because there's a seven day window before the play off starts - only restriction is rider could not have ridden for another UK club this season. Poole enquired of the BSPA to provide an assessed average for Lindback. They came back with 7.00. And that was sanctioned by their own MC. It would be nice, of course, were the BSPA transparent and revealed how they came to that assessment but the fact that they haven't is hardly the fault of Poole and certainly doesn't, in my humble view, make them "cheating scumbags." If other tracks were unhappy with the assessment they could have appealed to the SCB for clarification.
  14. YOU can bring a horse to water but you cannot make it drink. There was a huge security staff but sadly they weren't up to the job when push came to shove. The lack of tyres was caused by the local Mitas dealer not making the necessary arrangements. The best laid plans, etc, etc. Park pitch? The riders had no real problems with the track, especially after such a long hot day. It only got tricky when the water tanker driver suddenly decided that he was enjoying himself so much that he would do a few extra laps despite the protestations of Phil Morris, who nearly got mowed down trying to stop him!
  15. AND injuries and an acute financial situation caused by a Polish club.
  16. UNLIKELY to be Hampel with four Poles in already. And, personally, if Pawlicki was to drop outside the top eight I'd put him back. Look to the future. Jarek is a lovely guy but frankly has had his time and does he really get the pulses racing like his young compatriots?
  17. AGREE that NP would be a shoe-in for a wild card. Probably NKI too. Think the consensus is a hope that Lindback holds onto his top eight place and Lindgren doesn't make the top eight. No great desire to see Bjerre back. Some rumours, unconfirmed of course, that Emil and more importantly his 'team' are seriously considering a return. How great would that be.
  18. SPENT most of the weekend with Kelvin, who is a hero in Germany, and Nigel P. Lots of laughs. Also had a first every opportunity to see a film of one of Kelvin's four wins on the 'big' track where his dad Martin also won in 1961 I believe. Boy, you had to have balls to do that on a speedway bike, albeit a modified one to take into account the four righthand corners. Even Briggo, who was in our hotel and likes to give Kelvin plenty of stick, grudgingly admitted his admiration for his Teterow achievements. HAVE passed on your comments to BSI ...
