Birmingham v Berwick 8/5/19
StephenMiller replied to allthegearbutnaeidea's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Ayres has put in some excellent performances at Perry Barr in the NL over several seasons. Birmingham should also be stronger now with the addition of Adam Ellis -

Birmingham still not listed as a Championship club for 2019 on the official website ? -

Getting a bit concerned at the lack of news regarding Tom Bacon & James Shanes. I would have thought the promoters would have moved heaven & earth to get them both back for 2019 ? -

I never insinuated ALL Italians were the same, please don't put words into my mouth just to try & sound like a smart ass Like previous posters. I'm unconvinced that parachuting in yet another foreign import over developing home grown talent is the right path to take. -

Oh dear, this is like the bad old days of signing Carpanese all over again.... Surely Danyon would have been a much better choice ?? -

Simon Lambert...? No thanks, James Shanes any day of the week ! -

Presumably it's to do with Tom Bacon sustaining a nasty back injury in heat 1 at Mildenhall last night ? -

Jesus where will it end...? Never known a team have so many injuries in one season. -

If Bacon is injured now as well, then the season is surely done ? Let’s hope it’s not too serious. -
Update from club website :-

Apparently he still has no feeling in a couple of his fingers

Our number 7 for the day is Leon Flint's dad.... who hasn't raced for 11 years ! -
The Birmingham injury jinx strikes again.... discolated shoulder for JPB:-

BRUMMIES v I.O.W. Wed 23rd May
StephenMiller replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in National League Speedway
First time I'd seen Leon Flint ride last night, but what a prospect he is.... remarkable that he's only 15 ! Kudos also to Arron Butcher for plugging away & recording a well-deserved first paid win in his second ride. Track was very tricky early on, but the racing greatly improved as it dried out & track was re-graded. -

Should be a good meeting for JPB to ease his way back in - comfortable win for Brummies ? -
Here's the announcement for anyone who hasn't seen it yet :-

Brummies v Mildenhall Wed 9th May KO Cup 1st Leg
StephenMiller replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in National League Speedway
The below is the statement posted on Mitchell's website :- -
Considering how eager JPB was to come back in 2018 (judging by his comments at the Drury farewell meeting) this whole scenario seems very strange
-
Disappointing news, would have very much liked to have seen Taylor back at PB especially with his mentor from 2017 now running the club..
-
If the new promotion lets JPB slip through their fingers for 2018 I think this will be a massive mistake. The lad is one of the brightest prospects we've seen in British Speedway for a long time, and judging by his immediate "come & sign me for 2018" comment on the mic at the Tony Mole farewell obviously wants to return ! Surely he should have been the first rider signed up for next season ?
-
What ?? Have the new owners lost the plot already ?
-
Words truly fail sometimes to describe how clueless the people running our sport really are....!

Brummies V Kent Wed 6th Sep
StephenMiller replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in National League Speedway
Let's hope this isn't the end, although the deafening silence on the matter so far doesn't inspire confidence. After all the efforts in resurrecting the club not once but twice, I sincerely hope this isn't the way it ends for the Brummies.
