We might yet have the Last Laugh Lisa-Colette? Glasgow don't have the right to be smug about their track either! -
Tuesday 23rd August - Plymouth v Glasgow
alfiemorris replied to jbell1995's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I may be mistaken but I believe all this started last week when the Redcar meeting was called off the evening before because of a real threat of heavy rain during Tuesday match day. We were shown footage at the track on the afternoon that was a proper deluge although where I live, just 8 miles away, there was very little rain until later in the evening. We here in Plymouth live in the shadows of Dartmoor. We have always experienced very localised weather, particularly regards rain. During the Monday night before the meeting, I believe another downpour at the vicinity of the track had a bad effect? I suspect with the nearing of the end of the season, and the Play-offs approaching, Mark and the management saw a good drying day that we had yesterday, all day, that conditions would improve, the track would dry out and racing could occur?. Even with everyone, I mean everyone, carrying out the Track Inspections, nothing was found detrimental. That's Riders, Track Officials, Managers and the Referee, all happy up to the time of the Coin Toss, Tapes Up and Centerfield Staff all in place. Then Marks announcement telling us all it's off! I'm sorry, but we've yet to learn how to control the weather, as much as we would like to? -
Well get on and do it. What are you doing on here Lol!
-
Well? Someone needs to start it! It doesn't appear to be P/L for the Devils? So hopefully we'll be saved by a mystery Cornish bidder? We don't know for sure yet, but may be, with the right person at the helm, it'll all come good at the SBA again? If it all comes to nought, well, we'll all have to say goodbye to Speedway for the West Country. That being the case, I'll come back here and delete this post. For now, we wait!

Premier League Predictions 2016
alfiemorris replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Really like this prediction! -
I have pledged and donated. I have no issue with any of the Emergency Committee handling these sums of money. I think they are Gold Plated.
-
I wish people would stop with the 400-450 in thru' the gate? A League match would generate more like 650-700 and more from time to time specially now lighter, warmer evenings on the way.
-
I think we have to forget the past, however unsavioury that might be. Plymouth Devils need help and support now. Don't let them die please.
-
This meeting is to take place Thursday 24th, tomorrow night at 7.30pm. Sorry, didn't see the other post.
-
No comment from Barncoose yet? Come on Godfrey, you must have a view on all this?
-
Just worth repeating!
-
They do and will for P/L meetings. It was very cold, all day, would you for a challenge meeting, really?
-
Not so I think? Yes, rain-off's and Saturday meetings do seem to have an effect. Last Friday was bloody cold, and for a challenge/individual/pointless opener, I would say more than 450 thru' the gate? may be? We are all gutted, upset and angry! Very angry! Just hope Superman arrives quickly!

Ok, last word from me. Lee was there as a paid up member, as you well know! He spoke as himself, was not sent and he said himself, was not there to represent the Promotion. I voted for the Promotion by the way.
-
Well "The Club" wasn't there, were they? They, someone from the Promotion, should have taken the opportunity to state their case, I think they would have won tbh!
-
I won't go into detail, but tonight's meeting was very enlightening for me! Even I was surprised at the amounts paid out towards the Promotion and Riders this last season! If anyone thought it was small buck's then they ought to think again imo. I may be mistaken, but all the figures are available for the doubters to ask to see. I wish I had made notes on the amounts and to whom they were paid out to, but they paint an entirely different picture to some that have posted on here a little while ago. Welcome back to Jack! and with no more supporters club, we all have get right behind Plymouth Speedway this coming season if we hope to see another in 2017.

Lewy! You Sir, are a mischief maker! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But Plymouth would be better off without your acid comments.

Wi'll just have to hope Eurosport picks up some more meetings? Don't think I'll be paying another tenner on top of lasts year Sky Sport prices for less meetings!
