I was there on Sunday, and my first thought was whether the referee would have considered excluding Wells for dangerous riding. He was clearly out of control and forced 2 riders to take avoiding action effectively ruining their race.

I agree with Aceslider, George is not only team manager but co-owner, without his financial support (along with others) and the work done by his family I very much doubt there would be speedway in Newcastle.

Yes, He will now miss the pairs, and be reserve at Cardiff, that is unless the fracture clinic plaster him up today for the 6 weeks a scaphoid normally takes to heal! They do this as although It's a small bone it can affect the blood flow to the hand with long term problems.

Only consolation I can see for R/R is neither of the reserves have to take a ride, harsh I know but true.

I assume they will move R/R to either 2 or 4 as usual.

I hate criticising riders, after all, they're doing something I can't, but If i was in Connor's shoes and I was struggling with the track (his entry to turn 1 is far too tight) then I would be practicing hard after the meeting to try to sort out the best lines around the 4 turns. Not doing this means you have to question his professionalism, especially if he wishes to improve and try to earn a living out of the sport. i wish him every success, but he has to work harder.

In defence of my previous post, I have no issues with Sheffield. My observations were directed at the system, not at any individual team. I must question Georges thinking when he arranges For Robbo to come in to replace one of the top No. 1's in the league. with all due respect to him his best days are behind him and asking him to fill in at No.1 was asking too much. Hope fully next weekend will see our season continue, however, if we don't improve It's a long cold winter.

I have to agree with Terrace Grumbler, It's a farce when a side can import 3 riders who can go better on an away track than their own riders, that and R/R (for which you can also use said guests) makes a team unrecognisable from the one that should have been there. It's like Hartlepool FC having a second rate striker unavailable and being able to 'borrow' Lionel Messi for 1 game. Joke!
