  1. Judging by the lack of information coming out of the club and the general poor communication, I wouldn't be surprised if we found out about March!
  2. Why is it that the longer we go without hearing anything I'm getting more convinced that the christmas Party is going to be a wake?
  3. I think we have to look beyond the '17 team and see who is no longer available who would have been considered as possibilities for the team in 2018, for example, Aaron Summers has signed for Berwick announced today. Even old favourites like Matej Kus have contracts in Poland, the signs are not looking good.
  4. I like many Diamonds supporters are concerned about the lack of information coming from the promotion. As I see things, Either George has agreed a deal with a new financial backer, in which case, make an announcement, or if not, let the fans know, you never know, one of us may just have information, a contact or just a name and 'phone number which may lead to an offer being made. even if a deal is close it would be nice to know.
  5. After chatting to Danny Phillips at the back end of last season, he is keen to return to Newcastle if we want him. Remember, when he got injured, he was one meeting away from a hike in his average, so could be a good shout at 7.
  6. I'll be there with most of the usual gang, I, like many others on here fear that if we don't show support then we may well have to find something else to do on a Sunday evening. I also agree that any break in continuity will preclude the re-opening of the team as the close proximity of housing will mean noise will be a major factor. These may be 'meaningless' fixtures, but it's still the spectacle of 4 riders, 4 laps, no brakes and no fear and surely that's the main reason we go!
  7. Pardon my ignorance, but won't the 7 day rule apply to Sarjeant?
  8. Steve, I think the evidence against Robert is fairly damming, feeling 'not exactly delighted' at his actions makes me suspect that you feel you can really see no wrong in his actions, call me old fashioned, but I believe my word is my bond, and I have a moral responsibility to fulfill any and all obligations that I have agreed to. Is this something that you cannot agree with?
  9. Steve, half of tonight's field wern't in the original lineup, are you happy that he felt no obligation to fulfill his contract with Newcastle by missing last week with a 2 week sicknote, yet rides today?
  10. So if Lambert rode in Poland today, his 2 week sick note was an excuse to miss Newcastle's meeting last weekend in the KO cup?
  11. According to the Diamonds FB page we are at full strength tomorrow, as Robert Lambert is supposed to be out injured for two weeks, maybe someone from the club would like to tell the fans exactly what is going on!
  12. If this is going ahead as a double header, what will be the start time for the first meeting?
  13. Regardless of Roberts appearences earlier in the season, his behaviour regarding his 'injury' on Sunday causing the non appearance on Monday, if he was in fact, not as injured as he would like people to believe, is totally unacceptable. Considering the meeting on Monday was his Championships clubs only chance of winning anything this season you would have thought he could have made some sort of effort. If it turns out that his injury is genuine, then I will offer my humble apologies, but until then my comments stand.
  14. Now that the tv footage is available, it would be very interesting to know the clubs response, but I won't hold my breath!
  15. Quite possibly, Ruff. I'm sure that if they had put it up on the terraces last night and charged people to throw the darts, the promotion would have made some much needed cash! The feeling around us last night was his behaviour was a total pi$$ take.
  16. Not sure of the significance of this, but Lambert's picture had been removed from the pit wall last night. However, if the reports of his 'injury' are true, then his behaviour is totally unacceptable and we may well have seen the last of Mr. Lambert.
  17. I had a call on my way there saying the same thing that Workington riders wouldn't race.
  18. Thanks Leander, It was posted tongue in cheek! I was just using it to highlight how stupid speedway can be.
  19. Our meeting is a re-arranged fixture, but the Polish meeting is a promotion/relegation affair so can no way be classed as a regular or scheduled fixture. So why isn't Lambert riding in England?
  20. I think everyone has accepted that Robert won't be around next season, and a possibility that Steve will also be riding in Poland after his exploits in the world cup. This will leave a large hole to be filled at the top of the averages. Ricky Wells has always ridden well at Newcastle and would make a good No.1 Replacing Steve could be more difficult as you must find a rider who has the ability to add to his starting average. Any suggestions?
  21. Newcastle United at home that day, with a 4-30 kick off! More importantly, still no sign of cup dates!
  22. Agree totally with Aceslider, Thanks Tsunami for the voice of reason.
  23. After Glasgow's result today, I bet Redcar will be trying to get this in before the cutoff.
