Working on a 40 limit. 1. Nick Simmons 8.51 2. Chris Widman 4.71 3. Brendan Johnson 6.21 4. Luke Chessell 5.96 5. Rob Smith 6.48 6. Tom Hill 3.38 7. Gary Cottham 4.70 8. Someone from the speedway school 39.95 Working on a 38 limit and less nostalgic. 1. Nick Simmons 8.51 2. Chris Widman 4.71 3. Luke Chessell 5.96 4. Arron Mogridge 4.94 5. James Shanes 7.85 6. Tyler Govier / Luke Harris 3.00 7. Robert Parker 3.00 8. Someone from the speedway school 37.97 I'd like to see Tim Webster (8.74) too but the numbers game just pushed him out of my made up sides. Either him or Nick to spearhead the team would be great imo.

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2016?
Islander15 replied to Paul Johnson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Perry is a good shout for an actual spot and he's been with the Scorpions before. I wonder if he still wants a number 1, to put Josh at 5, and he pulls someone out the bag that no-one has mentioned. The list of 13 could look something like: Wajtkencht, Perry, Carr, D. Greenwood, O. Greenwood, Greaves, Williamson, Morley, Shanes, Ayres, Payne, Stokes and Owen. All of those are going in the right direction with probably Wajtknecht, Ayres, Shanes and Greaves the fastest but arguably Wajtknecht, both Greenwoods and Morley are the top riders in that pool especially with some PL experience in there. -
No, if an NL rider has an NL average then he can do NL regardless of how high his figure is. A a couple of years ago Kent signed Boxall on a starting average of around 10.46.
-
Matt Saul? He's been around the club a lot lately so maybe they're showing him the ropes ready to partner Powell at reserve.
-
They didn't run on a Monday when Lakeside had £10 admission on a Monday, so I'm only speculating a reason for if they don't take advantage of the improved race times/night.
-
They have planning permission for Fridays now, but it depends if they want to go up against Lakeside or not.
-
Doesn't that show the benefits of the system?
-
Riders with a PL average under 4.00 can ride NL as well. Also there is no conversion rate as all riders moving up from NL to PL either take their previous NL average (like Ellis), or if they don't have one they start on a 3.00+

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2016?
Islander15 replied to Paul Johnson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Shanes at number 7 would be a brilliant way to do that! -
Unfortunately I doubt we'll see him back on a bike again.
-
How likely is Bradley Andrews? I'm sure you put him down every season ahah! I'll make a team soon, but I'll also hazard a guess that the limit will be 38.
-
Then he'd be excluded and it'd be 3 riders only??
-
Yeah I think it was about 2009/10 and they existed for 2 seasons and they walked the league in the first season.
-
I can't see Bournemouth returning.
-
Could be a lot of teams next year.
-
Branford's PL average is only 3.40 so he's fine to DU again. Ayres, along with Chapman, have special dispensation to DU as they've only ridden for 2 seasons.

Kelsey did hurt himself last weekend.

Brummies Vs Eagles 7th October 7:30 Gold Cup Final 1st Leg
Islander15 replied to Alex2000's topic in National League Speedway
Purely speculation but they've done well with 3 strong heat leaders all year so I'd stick with that and Smith and/or JPB can cover R/R. As to the guest I'd have to say Williamson looks the best bet seeing as its been his home track all year, otherwise Ayres has hit very good form lately and Shanes will get good points and its amazing to watch. -
I wonder if the supporters group can take over.
-
I'm pretty sure that to guest you have to be in an NL team declaration, but his PL average is too high now anyway so he misses out on both counts.
-
He's not eligible.
-
A bit premature when we don't know the points limit! You only have to look at the mistake Kent made when Len assumed it'd be 40 again for this year and announced 3 before the AGM.
-
But then if there's only one won't they all end up like Somerset's number 7 this year by being continually taken out of rides, only given 3 rides and given the hardest heats.
-
Double header on Oct 25th.
