  1. Of course, anyone can still get involved!
  2. Fair enough. I thought that’d be the outcome. There must be some random Brits who aren’t top flight standard but are worthy of signing up incase of an injury crisis though surely. I only regularly watched the Ekstraliga last season tbh but I intend to follow the 2 lower leagues as well this campaign.
  3. I knew that was coming! I’m not suggesting there are riders out there of the calibre of the Laguta brothers or Sayfutdinov, but at the least wouldn’t you rather have someone else in your squad to cover for an injury in the future? In previous seasons the team could track R/R, but now they’re already tracking R/R! But to answer your question (and I apologise if these have been signed by lower league teams that I haven’t noticed yet) but what about: Ellis, Thorssell, Pontus Aspgren, THJ, Loktaev, Huckenbeck, Wolbert, Smolinski, Harris, Ostergaard, Nikolaj Jakobsen or a couple of other Brits. These riders are comparable in standard to Tarasenko and would score a couple of points if Wrocław got Tai & Dan injured rather than using a U21 Pole.
  4. You’re assuming that guests are the only alternative option. I assumed teams would’ve been allowed to sign another rider given the circumstances. The problem with R/R is both injuries and out of form riders. As you say there can be 2 injuries in a meeting, but of course 1 injury is far more likely, and suddenly the side can be relatively very weak. Especially with the introduction of the U24 rider now who last season was often poor for a top 5 rider. Wrocław & Torun are lucky and still have 4 quality riders (or you could say unlucky as both would’ve felt a title challenge is more likely with their full teams). Compared to Grudziadz who are already relying on Nicki P and only need 1 other injury and KK to go 0, 0, 0 and suddenly they only have 2 riders left including their U24! One personal irritation about R/R is how it drags out meetings in England. However I’m sure the Polish meetings won’t be affected as badly by this.
  5. Jack Kingston back is an intriguing one! Will he want a full-time return I wonder?
  6. Berwick could nick this. Bullets have a strong top 3 to match Armadale’s and their bottom 4 is almost certainly stronger but it depends how dialled in the local youngsters are this early in the season. If one of Watson, Rathbone or Douglas have a good meeting then I can see a small away win.
  7. That’s not very good for the paying supporters, who of course are innocent in all of this.
  8. Copying over Diamonds85’ team from the other thread so that it doesn’t get missed. ‘ 1 Alfie Bowtell 9.78 2 Ben Trigger 3.57 3 Henry Atkins 5.86 4 Sam McGurk 5.25 5 Ben Morley 9.18 6 Archie Freeman 3.00 7 Max Perry 3.00 39.64 Really wanted to get Joe Thompson in for Ben Morley, but it was a whole point under the limit, so I'd have been behind before I even started!!’
  9. You’ve got 3 Kent riders. So you need to take one out please.
  10. 1. Ben Morley 9.18 Kent 2. Luke Killeen 3.00 Ox 3. Luke Crang 6.41 Berw 4. Joe Thompson 8.52 Leic 5. Jack Parkinson-Blackburn 6.64 BV 6. Archie Freeman 3.00 BV 7. Max Perry 3.00 Leic Total: 39.75
  11. The new thread is up!! I wanted to wait until April and until all riders were announced. So can people please transfer their teams onto the new thread so that they don’t get lost on this thread.
  12. It’s back! I wanted to wait until April and all teams had announced their riders. So build a team upto 40.00 points and the highest end of the season average wins! Only 2 riders from each club are allowed in your team. Averages can be found on the 2022 teams thread or BSPL site. Can everyone who has posted their team on the old thread, please post on this new one. Previous results were: 2021: 1st Hawks1975, 2nd Islander15 & 3rd Iron Scorpion 2019: 1st Iand, 2nd Flipper11 & 3rd DJC. 2018: 1st Hunters, 2nd SKJ & 3rd CUFC_Brummie. 2017: 1st Eagles69, 2nd Islander15 & 3rd SKJ. 2016: 1st Halifax Tiger, 2nd John Leslie, 3rd Turn Two.
  13. Sam Woolley seems to have upped his game. Fair play to him.
  14. I meant in terms of nationality. That’s interesting to know thank you. And his ability is irrelevant as anyone can ride NL, there is no minimum standard. Yes I meant how is he eligible for a British passport. Oxford need a reasonable team to get thru fans to watch it and it’s a new venture so they were of course starting from scratch. If he’s riding for the Chargers then there’s a clear avenue for him to ride for the Cheetah’s Championship side too which benefits then and obviously could form part of a good future relationship with Wolves if Oxford need any riders in the future.
  15. I can’t remember for certain, but didn’t Hopwood ride for Plymouth after IOW in 2018? His IOW ending average was 7.16 but 7.37 at Plymouth.
  16. Hopefully Halder can have a run without injury. He looked a good prospect as a tiny 15 year old!
  17. Welcome back Ben Hopwood! It feels like ages ago he rude but it was only 2018. A strong top 3 of Hopwood, Jenkins & Stoneman. Good luck to Stoneman who deserves a decent run after several nasty injuries. Hagon will continue to improve. But it could be a very long tail. Has anyone seem confirmation of Hopwood or Stoneman’s averages because they must be getting reductions to be within the points limit?
  18. Bowtell & Morley will be the league’s best top 2 pairing by a mile. But is there enough 3.00 & 4.00 riders left to keep the team competitive?
  19. Bullets are under the limit but it’s still a strong team. A very capable top 3 and always a handy senior reserve. The weakness are whoever is at second string but if that rider is struggling then I’m sure dropping to reserve will pick up their scoring.
  20. When you put it like that it does sound nonsensical. But I think the thing we don’t know at the minute is how will the Premiership number 8s really play out. Sheffield’s number 7 might not get injured and Thompson might never ride or can he fill in incase of loss of form?
  21. Congrats to Hawks who is the winner and was the last person to pick a team! 1. Hawks 1975 53.84 2. Islander15 53.56 3. Iron Scorpion 52.32 4. Sings4Speedway 50.93 5. DJC 50.86 6. Reginaldspeed 50.80 7. Technik 50.58 8. Flipper11 50.27 9. Hunters 49.56 10. Bloom89 48.48 11. Potteringaround 48.29 12. Secsy1 45.67 A lot of people chose Atkins or Freeman whose averages didn’t change due to injury.
