  1. Really sad news, i was shocked when I heard last night. He loved Speedway. are thoughts are with his family. RIP
  2. British Speedway highlights on Quest tonight at 11pm
  3. Well chaps Easter weekend which used to be a busy time for speedway. Years back meetings with Reading and Oxford in a three team tournament. Then home and away to Oxford on good Friday, then after losing Oxford and Reading it was then Poole home and away. I remember back in 86 we rode away at Oxford on Good Friday then onto Colchester to watch Swindon Town in the evening. Simon Garrett drove, i think Adie Fisher came and i can't remember who the other guy was perhaps someone will remind me. The pub was packed with Swindon fans. Happy days
  4. Hi Guys, not stealing your thread but it sounds like happy days. We used have something similar at Swindon when we would race against Reading and Oxford in a three team tournament or race against Oxford away in the morning and home in the evening. Then after losing both Oxford and Reading, we then used to ride Poole away in the morning then home in the evening. I remember one Good Friday back in 86 when we rode away at Oxford at 11 then we travelled onto Colchester to watch Swindon play there that evening. Sadly those enjoyable days have gone. At least you have some speedway to look forward to this season.
  5. Could have been worse, Peterborough could have signed James Wright then it would be 6 out of 7.
  6. From a British point of view i hope it's Richard Lawson for the last spot. Don't moan about it, at least you will get to see some speedway unlike me.
  7. James Wright would be better suited at Peterborough with his age lol. Wish him all the best
  8. I for one can completely understand their decision but i'm still disappointed as i will have no local club to watch. As others have said i'm sure other teams may follow in sitting out. I just hope that Swindon do return in 2022.
  9. I used to enjoy the Swindon v Oxford meetings but sadly those days have gone. Great meetings, great atmosphere, good crowds.
  10. So did i and i wish we could go back to Saturday night racing.
  11. The problem with attracting kids and families is we ride on a Thursday night and it finishes to late . To late for my kids. When i was a kid we rode on a Saturday night and loads of kids and families used to go.
  12. Thanks for that information. I will buy a copy this week.
  13. Great to see Rasmus Jensen back. Good top 3 Hope the tail isn't wagging to long
  14. Great to see Jensen back. Wasn't expecting that after Troy signed
  15. Was kinda hoping he was going to sign again for the robins but the points limit tells me otherwise.
  16. Welcome back to the top league. Look's like you guys are going to put out a competitive side. Look forward to seeing you at Swindon
  17. According to the Swindon Advertiser a third signing to be announced this week. Could be as early as tomorrow. I've heard all the rumours but i have no idea who it will be.
  18. Merry Christmas to all you Robins fans. What a year 2017 was for the Robins.
  19. I can't believe we have gone with Jason. Terrible decision. Must be down to money and who Rosco can fit in. Could this mean the return of Batchelor
  20. A419 Northbound stationary queuing traffic. Must be an accident. I know it is early but riders, helpers and some supporters like to get there early some to go for a meal. Maybe if you know anyone you can let them know. If I can any further information I will post but if your near there now or on your way home it might be advisable to avoid the A419 Northbound. Traffic still queuing. The road is partially blocked due to a motorcycle accident near the Rat Trap junction.
  21. Let's hope so Shocker but like you say the points limit will be an issue.
