But I didnt make a comparison with Buynan and Kristiansen did I? You made the comparison with Glanz and Kristiansen which in my opinion was unfair. Has Glanz ever ridden Premier League level at the Plymouth track? There seems to be a lot of assumptions being made about the lads ability on his National League performances which is a world of difference. I would have thought you would just give him a chance to settle and do his best.
-
Jespers starting average for 2011 was 4.80 and that was his third Premier League season after spending two seasons with us at Stoke. He is a far more accomplished and experienced rider than Glanz so maybe not the best comparison.
-
It is quite ridiculous that Roynon is riding in the National League, Premier League and Elite League. Im afraid we also have one at Stoke in Richie Worrall. The knock on effect is that it denies a rider a team place in the National League and with only 8 teams there are a lot of capable enthusiastic riders with no team place. Can never be right.

2011 British Under 16's Speedway 500cc Champion

I really think you need to have a good chat with whoever is looking after the Youth scene. Under 16 Champion does not equate to anything near the National League. Not many promoters will be impressed by your posts on here. You need to smell the coffee! Cost is everything. I could save them £50 a meeting without blinking. -

So you think it is unfair but then go on to suggest there should be a sponsorship deal. If my memory serves me right Great Central travels around in an MPV with all their equipment. There are two bikes, a kit bag and a tool box. All motorsport is expensive. Speedway is one of the less costly. I suspect many parents of young speedway riders work hard to support their youngsters and travel thousands of miles to different tracks to have to pay to train never mind earn any money. Im afraid it is like everything in life. If you cant afford it you cant have it. -

This is not reality. You do not need a new tyre, in fact National League promoters have put forward a suggestion for second hand tyres only, You should not be paying £12 a litre for oil. That is a very expensive way to buy oil. You can source methanol cheaper that £7.50. Finally why shouldnt Nathan come away with some points money! He has the talent. The post detailing the expenses comes over as negative. You cannot expect to break even when starting in the National League. -
Good little team shaping up. Plenty of improvement available as well. As I said all good British lads. However, 2ndbendpostie will be disappointed there are no Polish or Scandinavian riders!
-
You are wasting your time replying to postie with intelligent posts. He reminds me of one of the Ewoks from Star Wars. Do you remember the noises they used to make? Thats about as much sense as he makes!

Now eithier you are a promotor or you have very good contacts or you are full of the brown stuff that comes out of male cows. But we will wait until the NL AGM at which such decisions are made before we know that, but thanks for disclosing that, I am sure many will be well pleased with you for that. As for trying to push people away from speedway at a time when it needs all the supporters it can, doesnt actually show you in a very good light. By the way do you happen to know if table tennis allow foreigners play in its english league ?? Are you for real! Foreign riders cannot ride in a amateur/semi professional league. Please wake up. You can please yourself what you do with your disposable imcome. Im sure Mildenhalls British riders would be pleased to hear your views!
-
Well shame on you and all the people that have supported your views. Thankfully your tripe will have no impact whatsoever on next years teams. The National league teams WILL consist of British riders who are working really hard to develop themselves. Perhaps it is time for you to find another Sunday afternoon sport for you to spend your well earned disposable income.
-
So just so I have got this right you believe any rider from any country should be able to ride in the National League to fulfil your Sunday afternoon entertainment. You are quite happy for our British riders to be left on the sidelines and you would like this to be agreed at the AGM!
-
About as constructive as your posts today. Thankfully nobody will take any notice of your selfish tripe and Mildenhall will continue to succeed with what is a great little product developing British youth. Im sure they wouldnt miss you.
-
Great to see Tony back but oh boy are we top heavy. 4 good riders and 3 3point riders will keep all the meetings very close. When our premier league riders are missing we will be in trouble.
-
James Sarjeant is a real talent. However if he has the same support team as he did this season at Stoke then he will not achieve his potential.
-
Sad but no surprise to regular followers of the National League. Very surprised that Newport did not give any thought to running National and dropping Premier like Stoke did this season. Clearly the financial situation has hit Newport hard so really struggling to understand why they have dropped the more financially viable option.
-
Well Mildenhall are certainly on the ball. Dan is a very talented rider and a steal on a sub 5 average.
-
Firstly well done to everyone at Mildenhall. The riders did really well to recover from their defeat at Scunthorpe the previous night. This is the second time this season the track has benefited the oposition. Firstly in the fours and last night. A Stoke team full of racers with no dirt to race on. Mildenhall were sharper out the gates. In Premier League rules we would have been entitled to a guest for Gareth. Why is National League different? Cant take anything away from Mildenhall though and a big thankyou to all the Potters riders this year for a great season.
-
Cant believe you forecast this one so way out HT. To be fair I think Stoke may have suffered a similar fate at the hands of an outstanding Scunthorpe Team. Makes tomorrows encounter more interesting as it will both teams only shot at Silverware. Just cannot see Mildenhall pulling back on Sunday.
-
Well HT I generally always admire your honest intelligent posts but we will disagree on this one. If I am wrong I will eat humble pie but I see Mildenhall using both black and whites and still losing by 15.

Time for a reality check on this thread. The new silencers will be in the National League next season. Dirt deflectors wont be scrapped. Riders will use whatever carb they want, probably Blixts. They will use whatever combination of clutch plates they want. Tyres do make a difference. Whilst I respect Deans views I dont agree with all of them. To compete with the top riders in the National League, who are mostly Premier League reserves or main body riders, like Lambert, Howarth, Garrity, Birks, Irving, Branford,Worralls etc you need a decent engine. Saying you have beaten heat leaders around the renowned tricky Buxton circuit is not a fair comparison. You cannot just service a engine without some specific equipment like a press and valve timing. Get it wrong and you can kiss goodbye to between £1000 - £2500 which makes an average service of between £200 - £300 quite reasonable. All motorsport is expensive. Speedway is one of the cheaper ones. It is like anything in life. If you cant afford it you cant do it.

You need to do a bit of homework. Do you really think Jon Armstrong Kyle Newman and Adam Roynon were riding for 10 pound a point?

Mildenhall V Stoke Nl Po Sf 2nd Leg
roguetrader replied to andy1967's topic in National League Speedway
It is possible for you to top the League with two 4 point wins. However there is more chance of the Pope riding a speedway bike than Newport giving you a date for your away fixture! To keep it in perspective finishing top is irrelevant. All it means is that you qualify for the play offs. -

If Carlsberg did speedway posts that would probably be the best post in the world! If the culprit reads this he needs to bury his head in shame. -
Mildenhall V Stoke Nl Po Sf 2nd Leg

Well done Mildenhall. Best team over the two legs. Whilst I am devastated at Stoke not qualifying for the final I really enjoyed yesterdays meeting. I thought Simon, Jamie, James and Ben were outstanding. Best wishes to Gareth and Tim. I have to admit it is a great set up at Mildenhall. The atmosphere was tremendous and the track was superb. A couple of observations from me. Fantastic to see Chris Louis, Michael Lee, Rob Henry and Kevin Jolly so passionate and supportive. Secondly what an outstanding announcer. Very well informed and superb presentation. -
Injuries certainly played a major part for you but I suspect the planning for next year has already begun. You have the best supported team in the National League and believe me after being at Mildenhall yesterday you lot are Angels!!
