Ashley Morris is a really talented rider who started his National League career at.....oh yes Scunthorpe. Matt Williamson was nurtured by Buxton. Why didnt he go back there? Does anyone really wonder apart from you! Come on Ommer explain to me why you tried to sign Brady Kurtz, who is an out and out Australian as a reserve instead of a British reserve>
-
No your not. You cherry pick the best riders available enticed by illegal points money. You have four riders from the Elite League draft riders and two rider riding in all three leagues. You also attempted to sign an Australian ringer as a reserve which was quite frankly disgraceful and bit you on the arse. You are doing no favours whatsoever to the National League.

Fair point and good post.

The really sad state of affairs is that you actually believe your post is true. The truth is that Dudley/Cradley will be the death of the National League. There are set points money for the National League which Dudley/Cradley openly abuse. It could have been much worse as your out of touch Management Team wanted to sign an Australian ringer as reserve who would have made a mockery of the National League. Thankfully Scunthorpe yet again will restore the true ethos of the values that the National League represent and something Buxton has always seeked to achieve.

There is a clear ruling that all Australian riders know about. If you compete in the Australian Championships then your right to riding in the National League and any discount for the Premier League is removed. Fairly sensible and common sense. You make your bed you lie on it.

This has to be the best National League side the Isle of Wight have fielded. Well done to the Management team and every success for 2013.
-
Brady Kurtz is 100% Australian. Well that is what his website states. The National League exists to develop British riders.

Ashley Morris is an excellent signing for you. A very shrewd decision in a very difficult position. It was never going to be possible to keep both Ash and Tom due to their averages. Your current signings look very promising.

Scunthorpe Saints - Not Entering N L 2013 :(
roguetrader replied to bigred's topic in National League Speedway
Ah, you edit your arrogant reply which does not wash. How long have you been following National League speedway? The league flourished as a training league for years producing riders such as Josh Auty, Tai Woffiden, Lewis Bridger Joe Haines etc etc. And believe it or not the paying public attended in abundance. -

This is the crux of the problem. The National league is the British Development League and is completely a training league. It is certain clubs that have hijacked the league and changed its direction to the detriment of up and coming British riders. This misconception that the amateur league is the training league displays an arrogant misplaced understanding of the development of riders. -

More biased and complete rubbish from a Heathens fan, one of the main clubs responsible for the demise of the National League by their failure to apply points money limits for their riders. I was ridiculed for stating that the National League was losing its way but to lose a club like Scunthorpe who have produced some of the brightest British talents over the last few seasons is staggering. The National League is supposed to be a development league and is being forced into a different level by certain clubs who employ elite league riders. An issue that should never be allowed. How on earth do people expect riders to compete with such riders who are sponsored and riding engines that will be highly tuned and way way beyond the affordability of most National League riders. I trust the BSPA take full notice of Scunthorpes position and think long and hard about the direction of the National League. -
I apologise for my presumption. Actually Heathen is not male. In fact it can be traced back to an old english word meaning gentile women! My post was supportive of Dudley having doubling up riders. But there are obvious difficulties with clashes of dates. I have no doubt you will dispatch Stoke as they have no strength in depth.
-
How do you expect anyone to take any of your posts seriously when you cant even spell Heathen properly? It is great that you have riders doubling up in the Premier League but there is a price to pay for that.
-
Not sure if this is a wind up really. If not it says it all really!
-
I think your fellow fan jamesbabe1 has summed it all up really! I dont disagree with the signing but everyone knows that he is not riding for £10 a point and 10p a mile as per National League guidelines. If Dudley remain in the National League next year I suspect it will be even smaller than this year.
-
Not even amusing. Everyone knows that will not be the case. I have said many times that the National League has lost its way and Dudley are part of the reason for that.

Stoke Sign Lambert (that's Simon, Not Robert!)

You obviously think you know what you are talking about when in reality you are far from the truth. I cant be arsed to debate your nonsense. -

No it is not. They do not get paid £10 a point and 10p a mile in the Premier League and Elite League. Your absurd post illustrates that National League has lost its way. Simon Lambert is an outstanding rider but to have to drop yet another rider to fit him in is just so wrong. It is a development league and you are deluding yourself if you think there are a large number of riders waiting in the wings. There are not. We are beginning to see the demise of National League speedway. -
Tell Michael to keep up the good work. BW Double does not even know the rules but spouts off regardless of a riders feelings in the team he claims to support. Best ignore his tripe.
-
Mostly right but it is 14 days. To be fair both the IOW and Dudley meetings were Challenge matches so the rules really dont apply. Better for Stoke to have a competitive team and produce goods meetings as it has.
-
That is not allowed. Stoke are going to have to redeclare their team with Birks or Worrall missing and to include Mckinna.
-
The 40 point limit is set for the next three years. Stoke cannot run with the team currently listed on the BSPA site. I expect a new team declaration by Friday.

Is there a reason why Cameron Heeps is not riding in the British Under 21 final? Surely he would have been seeded?
-
Not only does he like starting arguments he hijacks threads and destroys them with his inflammatory posts. About time the mods stepped in.

What complete and utter nonsense. This was completely self inflicted. A very sound judgement with far reaching implications for motorsport.
