I just remember Dudley Wood having a ‘pork’ van which sold the best pork scratchings/crackling I have ever tasted :-)

So back to Swindon 2020 .............. No real idea why, but I have a sneaky feeling we may see THJ back as a Robin next year?
-
I think Poole should finish top, who they choose, not sure? If Swindon finish top, I think they will choose Poole, financially a Poole Swindon match at Play Off or Final will be the Season’s biggest earner and Terry Russell is primarily a business man, and why risk either of that pairing getting beaten elsewhere? In terms of Champions, I hope not, but feel Wolves are currently the team to beat. Wolves v Swindon would pit the two in form teams and should give a nail biting final, but if Poole finish top, I think this will be the semi? Time will tell, may the best team win.

Poole v Swindon. Prem. 19/8/19
65Sarge replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
IMO, a fair result from a decent enough meeting. Track was raceable which is a huge improvement, but still very rough in places. Some passing, but a lot of gate and go also. Poole solid throughout especially at reserve but not unexpected. Swindon, top 2 superb, the reserves on a hiding to nothing, but at least on the pace, middle 3 all rather disappointed. it’s all ifs and buts - Klindt got maybe less than expected, Jensen & Muesli got less than usual, it all evens out to say these two should both be there or thereabouts at the end of the season, may the best team win! -

Anyone seen any indications who is guesting at reserve for the Robins? -
I don’t think that’s Contrary at all! On the grass Zach is immense, but speedway is a different art and style of riding, and it is hard to change between the two, hence IMO why his speedway development has been slow and almost stagnant? I’m sure he will continue to excel on grass and hopefully come back to the shale when he has learnt to adapt his riding style accordingly?
-
Sad that Zach has felt the need to make this decision, but I fully understand and support it. Good luck on the grass and long tracks Zach, come back to the shale stronger when you're ready. On a selfish note, I hope he told Rosco a few days ago and the Robins were able to re-declare to the authorities before the average changes? Finger's crossed!

Swindon. V Peterborough. 06/05/19.

I believe I read Zagar was excluded which personally looked harsh. Just a racing incident IMO. Speedy recovery JD. -
I think Shanes deserves some time to get over his current injury, learn the new track and settle in at Swindon, no way should he be even considered for dropping until he has had a few months at 7 for the Robins and time to settle. The guy is a 100% trier and a racer to boot, I for one hope he comes good in time and think there is a decent chance he will. No need to panic. Too many would be managers with no real idea what goes on in the world of speedway giving their hair brained opinions.

Best/Worst Team of the Season so far
65Sarge replied to ReadingRacer2017's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Please correct me if I am wrong, but you said 2 heat leaders in your rules? Does that mean one of Jason Doyle, Troy Batchelor and Robert Lambert are not considered heat leaders? Surely this makes your strongest team illegal based on your rules? -
A month ago Freddie scored 10+1 from 5, but included 2 from a double points ride so really 8+1, and Jacob 9 from 5; So 9 from 5 from the Freddie guest and 7 from 4 for Jacob's r/r, is roughly quid pro quo, so I think it was a fair comment. That said, the Swindon track was dirtless tonight which may or may not have favoured the missing men? Poor meeting, but Wolves deserved their victory 👍
-
For me, the track preparation fooled Swindon, it just had no grip while they are used to being able to put the back wheel in a bit of dirt and getting the bike to drive. That said, same for both teams and Wolves did about what I expected, came fired up and rode like a team. I didn't expect them to take a lead to Monmore, but the fact they did might just work in Swindon's favour? I don't think the loss of Freddie and Jacob made much difference tonight, but if they were fit, it would certainly be all over now as at Monmore they are superb. Well done Wolves on a deserved victory, let's hope we get a better race track Wednesday and may the best team win. On a side note, saw the 'Freddie/Bjerre' crash tonight on TV and IMO Freddie was the cause of his own downfall and Bjerre was unlucky to be excluded which would have lead to a totally different result, but that said, that's just my opinion from one quick view, which is what the ref gets and he/she made a decision which stands so fair play Wolves.

Swindon Vs Poole - Posf2 - 25 Sep
65Sarge replied to Steve0's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I fancy Poole to take the honours tonight, given it's wet, I can't see Doyle being interested, I just hope the rest of the Robins rise to the task at hand. Either way, I think it will be a close one. -

Surely the whole point of a forum is so people can express an opinion and court others' opinions for discussion. It seem on these forums lately it's a case of Poole fans criticise everything others say and non Poole fans criticise everything Poole fans say, that's no how it should work. Personally I find much of what Shovlar et al say as very amusing, but far too many turn it in to personal vitriol, and there is one who has so many obvious aliases, it's boring and ruins the forum for most. Personally, I think the Robins should have enough in the tank to win this, but at the same time, no place for complacency as it is clearly far from over and Poole remain dangerous. Let's hope this thread stays open for opinion and friendly debate rather than falls into the pit of the trolls BS. -
Poole V Swindon Semi Final 1st Leg 11/9/17
65Sarge replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I don't disbelieve that Middlo was told that, but FFS, did he really believe it. I actually like Neil, I think he has good intentions, but often fails to engage brain before opening mouth, which is not an uncommon trait within speedway. -

Poole V Swindon Semi Final 1st Leg 11/9/17
65Sarge replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I can just imagine BWD driving up to the gate saying to his mechanic, I'm fed up with all the BS on social media because I'm not riding, this duffer on the gate won't have a clue, I'm going to pretend I thought I was still riding and see how he reacts just for a giggle, can you imagine that getting back to Muddlo & Fraud and all the keyboard warriors, it'll be meltdown Probably not what happened at all, but made me smile imagining a fed up young rider feeling the need to cheer himself up at the rest of the world's stupidity -
Poole V Swindon Semi Final 1st Leg 11/9/17
65Sarge replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Only BWD knows the truth, but from Facebook; nothing more than a paperwork issue and once it was shown that everything was in order the matter was resolved. As for Brad, he was on route anyway to be there as a team member and cheer on the lads, just happened to have his bikes and mechanic as they stayed over somewhere on route home Sunday. Pretty much bang on Neil I stopped at my mechanics place Sunday after Peterborough and still had everything in my van from the day before, I was heading to Poole anyway to support the team ✌🏻 people let their imaginations get away on them too much. On a +ve, despite all the forum BS, we saw a competitive, keenly contested meeting with no bad crashes and some decent racing. Yes the track was bumpy, but give the track staff some credit, the weather was unpredictable and I believe they weren't able to get on it early (PS, I am not a Poole fan). Let's hope next week's semi is as good and the second legs too 👍 -

I hate to say this, but I fear the loss of Zach may be Swindon's downfall this year, need to find the right guests especially for the play offs!

He is the first and only person on this forum I have ever given consideration to blocking. I even enjoy reading the likes of Shovvy and Starman for the comedy value, but Gater1 is becoming an annoying Richard Cranium
