  1. Don't mind the race suits, but hate matching bike covers, more difficult to recognise the rider unless they have distinct wheel rims or mud guards. Also if there are changes and you can't hear announcement , you have to wait and check number on the rider's back
  2. Because it is interesting to see starting teams each year
  3. Well, we don't get your lovely weather, rains all the time up here and track was rideable, but not raceable
  4. So my predictions for league positions before play offs are Glasgow Redcar Poole Plymouth Scunthorpe Oxford Edinburgh Berwick Birmingham As for eventual winners of play off, Poole as they know how to finish the job, they also tend to be very lucky in avoiding injuries, Glasgow have a strong team but we must have broken a few mirrors as when in contention we have had injuries which have hampered us greatly, also I think there is too much pressure put on the team to win. Although I like challenging for honours , I miss the times when we had fun celebrating if we hit 30 points away from home. Has got a bit too serious now. I will add that for entertainment value, we have that in spades with this team, a case of watching through your fingers.
  5. Could we please leave politics out of a speeway thread and concentrate on the new season, and that goes for football too, mon the Glasgow Tigers
  6. Have great memories from Shawfield days, had a gap from speedway before returning in 2009 to Ashfield, didn't take long to be addicted again, having experienced the heydays in the 70's with numerous teams it is sad that we are down to current levels, it is still a magical sport, hoping that it doesn't disappear altogether in next few years
  7. Will probably be after main meetingp
  8. Hampden, coatbridge, Shawfield, Ashfield ( all Glasgow) powderhall, armadale, (Edinburgh) Linlithgow, Paisley, Berwick ( Shielfield and Berrington lough) Newcastle, Redcar, Workington, Scunthorpe, Stoke, Mildenhall, Milton Keynes, Ipswich, Peterborough, Belle Vue, (all tracks,) Wolverhampton, Leicester, Poole, Birmingham, Plymouth, Kent, Rye house, Wimbledon, Somerset, Sheffield, Oxford, Coventry, Cradley, a few now defunct unfortunately,
  9. Scunthorpe food is good as is Redcar, Edinburgh food is not bad too, but their hospitality food is excellent and worth the money. Glasgow used to have fab food but since it became outsourced , I am not fond of it at all and it is expensive, gone are the days of homemade soup
  10. On the home front towards the new season, looking forward to it with an exciting team of racers. Can we do better? Hopefully we can stay injury free for a change, regardless of outcome, I am sure we will be entertained at Ashfield, however I may have to watch through my fingers !!! Mon the Tigers
  11. We are at Poole the week before on July 5th
  12. I hate Sunday meetings tbh, so glad we are back to Friday nights
  13. Almost into 2023, Happy New Year to all speedway fans, hope we can see some great racing and meet new fans
  14. Yeah it was all fine when we were bottom of the league every year but changed when Facenna's took over, we now have a lovely stadium, great facilities and a team that challenges for the top, however ,I miss the old family atmosphere, I couldn't care if we won the league or not, I do like that we have exciting racing and to me that is the most important issue.
  15. Spot on, he gets so much abuse , people just don't understand mental health issues, he does well to try and block out the constant abuse but it does have an effect, when he is on song , he is a delight to behold in his racing, I don't believe he is on the way down and I fully expect him to increase his average, although I am gutted that he is not at Glasgow, I hope he gets a maximum against us but that we still win the match, he will always be my number 1, look forward to Tigers v Monarch encounters, just wish there was more friendly banter between the clubs rather than some of the very nasty comments from fans of both sides, last couple of times I was at Armadale, there were some very nasty things said to Tigers fans, so much so that a few fans have vowed not to return, I wonder if it is newer fans that seem to carry the nasty football element, there are many lovely monarch fans, so lets make 2023 a better experience, Merry Christmas everyone
  16. Never had that last year or year before
  17. No he had a bad year with Birmingham
  18. Not us Glasgow supporters, more supporters of other teams making Glasgow favourites
  19. If it is Vissing, he loves Glasgow and would give 100%, he was gutted when his average was too high to return after his last stint at Glasgow, he is very popular with the fans, I appreciate that he has let down Birmingham and that must hurt, but he will be welcome back at Glasgow if he is indeed signed
