1. Confirmed today - Tom Bacon to Brum on 4.42..
2. Quote from Connor Dugard: Last year Eastbourne rarely used the tactical rule but other teams used it to effect, especially when the Eagles lost at eventual champions Birmingham.I am happy it is a play-off system, he said, and the scrapping of the tactical ride is brilliant news.It was also announced after the agm that Eastbourne would not defend the National Trophy which they won in 2015. The tactical rule was not used in the Eagles meeting at Brum. There were never more than 4 points between the teams.
3. Hi Folks, I have been sent a copy of the program now and am eternally grateful to Neil Watson for sending me his copy. Thanks to everyone who took time to read my request.
4. Hi Peeps, Does anyone have a copy of Cov v Brum for this season ridden on 17th July. If so please let me know how much you would take for it. A blank one is preferable but I'm not that fussed if it has been filled in. Thanks in advance.
5. Rumour has it that Charley Powell was not happy with the way he was treated when he guested for Brum at KL and that he turned down the offer to ride for Brum again.
6. Zach is a very level headed rider. He has already been offered outings at PL and EL level and has turned them down so that he can concentrate on establishing himself in the NL.
7. Could one of you kind souls supply me with the time for the Grand Final. We left as soon as NKI crossed the finishing line to avoid the crush and missed it. Thanks.
8. Apparently the management are happy with the crowd levels, at this standard costs are much lower. Pre season Tony Mole stated that application for Premier League status next season would depend upon league position and crowd levels. In the past similar crowd levels at Premier League level have resulted in the club running at a loss so I can't see an application to run Premier League next season no matter where Brum finish in the table. What happened to the promotional efforts to boost attendances? Perhaps they have decided that attempts in this direction have proved futile and we have now reached a sustainable level with no ambition to move up. On the team side of things I can't see how anyone can complain at the moment as everyone is chipping in with the exception of the troublesome number 6 slot. But this is offset by the performances of Zach Wajtknecht who has taken to it like a duck to water, he seems to get faster and more track wise with every race.
9. Does anyone have any idea why Ellis was having a moan at Perry after his heat 13 fall? Perry was away clear at the front when Ellis was caught napping by Atkin. Couldn't work that out unless they were supposed to be team riding Atkin out of it and Perry decided to bugger off.
10. I was very impressed with BWD, just a pity he isnt British. He has everything - style, speed, guts and he looks to be in total control. The two tussles he had with Greaves were fantastic - just a pity that each of them took a spill which ended the contest.
11. Was going to travel to this but have just seen the forecast and it's not good for the afternoon in the Buxton area.
12. Well Darcy, that's shallot. I'll get me coat.
13. I don't class myself as a Poole hater but following the FIM statement the ramifications are quite clear. BWitcher and SCB are spot on.
14. I came on here expecting similar bile that I have been reading on the Birmingham forum with regard to Tony Mole being to blame and mindless comments aimed at Cradleys use of Perry Barr. But what a refreshing surprise to find that isn't the case. In this hour of need we should all be demonstrating that we are, first and foremost, in love with the sport and will do whatever is needed to keep as many clubs alive as possible. Any venture launched at Perry Barr gets my full support.
15. It seemed to kick off in the pits after heat 4. Does anyone know what that was all about?
16. Went along to this. The track always seems very rough. Some of the falls were very innocuous but the one which resulted in Adam Extances injury was purely down to Luke Priest carrying far too much speed into the 3rd bend. He managed to dive under Paul Bowen but smacked into the side of Extance who was then clattered by Bowen as he went to ground. Difficult to see what Extances injury was, the medics seemed to be strapping up every part of him before attempting to get him in to the ambulance. Extance was the most controlled rider on view and fully deserved his paid max. There was a rut entering the third bend which had caught out a number of riders. The ref went over to take a look at it but the only remedial work they carried out was to drag the grader over it a few times.
17. http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/11433491.Speedway__Ward_ban_would_have__huge_effect__on_Poole_Pirates_warns_Ford/?ref=var_0 Latest from the Bournemouth Echo. Matt Ford asking for leniency from the FIM, he is used to getting it from other promoters so its worth a try.
18. I quite enjoyed the meeting despite how long and drawn out it was, this was mainly due to Matt Williamsons inability to get further than the 3rd bend in any of his rides and a delayed start due to the low sun, even though the stadium was surrounded by black clouds. Why on earth they had to have an interval after all the delays is beyond me. Despite giving it absolutely everything Ward was largely ineffective. Doyle and Janowski were superb. Couldn't fathom out why Cook wasn't given heat 15.
19. I'd just like to express relief that Gater1 has stopped posting, never in all my days have I read so much unadulterated tripe. Perhaps he has been banned to protect the sanity of other forum users.
20. That's probably the biggest insult Shovlar has ever had.
21. Are you Starman in disguise? Surely the onus is on the BSPA to make a statement explaining rule changes etc. The paying fans shouldn't be treated as though they are stupid by the rule makers/breakers. Why should anyone chase Matt Ford for an answer, he (or Alex Harkess) should have given an explanation as soon as this was brought into question. They really should know better - there are many knowledgable fans on here - did they really think that this latest underhanded transaction would get by unnoticed.
