In that race, Ward let Eddie go as it was more a battle between Ward and Barker!!! I can't think why??!! Otherwise, Kennett looked woefully off the pace. while Ward was totally on it!! Maybe no other promoters wanted to take the risk!!??. As Poole Season ticket holders can use their passes, I guess its MF not the BSPA that are promoting it. And why not call it a 'Test Match'? rather than a 'friendly' or something similar, if it gets more people through the turnstyles. Although I guess now that Holder is unlikely to ride, it becomes a less attractive fixture for the locals.

I think I'm right in saying that Promoters have to pay a fee (to the BSPA?) to stage a Test Match, ie. they have to bid for it - assuming other tracks were interested?!" The meeting then becomes a BSPA 'shared event', with all proceeds, after covering all stadium costs, going to the BSPA rather than the promoting club. So well done Matt Ford.
