Birmingham v Oxford Mon 8th July PL
Bash replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You beat Ipswich on bank holiday Monday when the track was pretty good due to the natural watering it got before the meeting -

I think we should just get fast Freddie to guest for us in the playoffs -
Could hear the boo's for Scott last night after he got wrongly excluded in heat 15 when he came out for the super heat and it wasn't Scott who did the dickish move, even the commentator mentioned it
-
Worded that wrong not necessary booing a rider but having him ride against you in a different league so you support him one week but not the next. Ex Ipswich riders always well respected on the parade. I know Oxford is a special case as they are riding in all 3 leagues. I wish I lived near Oxford as it's like back to the 80's having regular meetings every week not like it is now. Ipswich have one home meeting in July.
-
It must be quite strange being an Oxford supporter, cheering a rider one week in the premiership and booing the same rider the next in the championship.
-
The only trouble is we probably won't be able to use him in the play-offs as he will be working for Eurosport
-
Don't see why as Nicholls rides for Oxford in the championship and this is the premiership. What are Oxford going to do if he scores well, sack him
-
Think Ipswich will do well to hit 35 against a full strength BV team, not sure how fit some of the witches are after Thursday.
-
Expected last weeks match to be a lot closer than what happened. Will the Harris who guests for us turn up or will it be the Harris riding for his own club earlier in the season. Like I said on another thread guests seem to ride better at Foxhall for us than when riding against us. Expect a close meeting tonight.

Ipswich v Leicester June 20th
Bash replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I feel for the away supporters who travelled to Foxhall to watch that embarrassing display from Leicester. Apart from Lawson the rest seemed to give up, including the team manager. Why use a TS in heat 12 when the score was 44-22, match over & aggregate bonus point already gone. It's amazing how many riders score better at Foxhall when guesting for Ipswich rather than against them (Masters). -

Do they not film them still & produce a DVD to buy? -

I think that means he will be guesting at number 1 at Foxhall for the next two home meetings in June as the 8 day rule doesn't apply to guesting for your number 1. We only have one home meeting in July and three away so still not a rush to get someone in. I'm sure someone mentioned that changes have to be made before 75% of matches complete which is KL away at the end of July. -
I know it doesn't matter now, but watching on BSN in the first running of heat 6 when Charles Wright fell should Tungate have even been in the rerun as it looked like his bike was not under power at the time of the stoppage.

Surprised we haven't got Scotty in to guest for King, but suppose he doesn't want to ride against his employers even though this is Premiership not Championship.

Not surprised Lindgren literally barged him out of the way, very hard on his team mate -

Well if it wasn't him, Zmarzlik wouldn't ride over here, he would be the obvious one asked. -

The GP rider who turned them down, would it be a certain Robert Lambert? Think they will have to go Polish, Szymon Wozniak has ridden over here before. -

And you know this how? Not that I want Laguta, but the other two would do. -

Unlike Ipswich to name a number 8, maybe they have concerns over Ellis if his shoulder pops out again -

If you have a successful RS like Dan or like BV did with Tom Brennan in 2022 and they move into the top 5 do you think it is fair that in the protected heats the other RS are racing against non RS. With Ipswich it is slightly different to BV as they have Jordan Jenkins who was a RS last season. With BV they had Norick Blodorn who was a far better rider against them, and what happened that season BV won the league. So if it’s a problem the RS should stay at number 7 all season despite their average, but that isn’t going to help them progress, so why shouldn’t you get a better facility if they are in the top 5. -

This is what is wrong with some of the rules in speedway, we can't use Scott Nicholls again because of the 8 day rule but we can use Sam Masters who rode for the opposition last week in the same meeting as Scott. I suppose the only benefit of this rule is we can't use Batch this week! -

He would fit for Dan Thompson, but don't think it is allowed -

The track is so dry tonight, did they not water it today? Last week with the natural watering it was very good with lots of different lines but the outside is non existent tonight. -
Forgot about the opening night this season, he had two falls, thought he did better than that last season. I hope Batch proves me wrong and has a blinder.
