And so our resident troll returns after his long sabbatical as there was only one person who referred to trophies as egg cups! Morten caused a lot of friction in the pits last season when he got too big for his boots as that is the reason we should get shot.

Well now we know the points limit I wouldn't mind the following team line up:- 1. Richie Worrall 8.64 2. Matt Tresarrieu 5.84 3. Cameron Heeps 6.74 4. Taylor Poole 5.99 5. Rohan Tungate 7.05 6. Adam Ellis 4.25 7. Ritchie Hawkins 3.96 Total 42.47 I know its not likely as I'm sure that Lanham & Risager will be in the team

Poole V Birmingham 1st Leg Grand Final
Bash replied to pirateandi's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well done to Poole on that performance tonight, but not impressed with the glory hunting morons who all cheered loudly when Danny King fell off. Proves that a lot of them only come to watch when Poole reach the final of something and know sod all about speedway. -
Edinburgh V Ipswich (plpf-gb) 4/10/13 @ 7.30pm
Bash replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
As I stated in the other thread they are heavy when it is lying ontop of you! Anyway on to tonights meeting you should get 60 against the Ipswich select team tonight. The Ipswich riders left looked like they were going through the motions last night, not surprising after what happened last weekend. Hope you get a better crowd than last night! -
Concerning Hawkins fall in heat 2 the bike was on top of him so it would've been a struggle to get off the track in time. Risager always buzzes around the back wheels of the opposition in front of him but never looks like he is going to get passed them. Congrats to Cookie on another max, but did he really need to try to force himself past Sneddon off the last bend. Well done to Derek for blocking him, Cookie only thinking of himself again . Thought Chris Gay was at fault for a lot of the starts tonight, holding the tapes for far too long when the riders were perfectly still, the smell of burning clutches at the start line was fowl. Also when Rene was put back 15m, Chris Gay must have slipped on the button as the tapes went up so fast that Rene wasn't even in position to start the race!

Must be the heavy rain that hit Colchester at 1.30, and still heavy rain now at 3. Can't see it being on but with Foxhall who knows!

Comets V Witches Plpo 28 Sept
Bash replied to dontforgetthefueltapsbruv's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think the Workington management should get on the phone to Chris now and insist that they ride Thursday and agree to pay their wages too!!! -
Comets V Witches Plpo 28 Sept
Bash replied to dontforgetthefueltapsbruv's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Looks like you Comets have to rely on us to get a result against Edinburgh at Ipswich Thursday. I wouldn't hold your breath as they are meaningless meetings for Ipswich now as they can't qualify. Also if we don't win the league cup tomorrow they will be even more deflated. Time for Morten to say goodbye to Ipswich as I wouldn't have him in the team next season. We were doing fine until he caused a rift in the camp and forced them to put him at five because he thought he was "Billy Big Balls". The same fate should fall on him as happened with Dakota North last season, don't come back. -
The meetings that are re-arranged first take priority.
-
As long as the premier league matches are already finalised it won't matter about rain affected elite league as original fixtures take priority over rearranged fixtures.
-
Surprised no one has mentioned that Newcastle won't complete their fixtures either as their match away to Plymouth is still to be re-arranged. If that match took place they had a chance of making top two!! A cut off date has to be in place as if this was extended would have a knock on effect to the play offs and could get same scenario as last season when meetings couldn't be completed because of the weather. It's just unlucky if all fixtures aren't completed by the cut-off but we just have to accept it.

So answer me this why did Cook look round on the last lap entering turn three and roll off the throttle too late to make any difference?
-
I agree that the team manger decides the line-up but it is usually the riders who pick the gates. The Edinburgh team manager was nowhere to be seen when Cook & Tabaka came out to look at the gates. First Cook looked at gate four and dug around in it, and Tabaka did the same in two. Obviously Cook didn't like the look of four and then told Tabaka he was taking two. Tabaka's face seemed to drop when told this and didn't look too impressed! Concerning all gates being the same gate four gets ridden over more than gate one so will be more slicker as the meeting goes on, so the gates will never always be even, as the two winners off four were in heats four and five early in the meeting.
-
The point is what did Cook have to lose by trying to slow down the race to help his team mate and his team get a point, only his maximum.
-
The thing was in heat 15 Cook didn't once look for his team mate and seeing as Edinburgh needed a heat advantage to get a point out of the meeting, you would think he would try to slow the race down to help his team mate but he was the length of the straight ahead as the Ipswich riders was riding side by side to stop Tabaka. The only time he looked round was entering turn 3 on the last lap and then slowed down but was so far ahead the following riders still didn't catch him by the line.
-
Wasn't sure what the conversion rate was so just picked riders who I thought might be able to be used.
-
I would go down the Elite League guest route, someone like Cameron Woodward, Mads Korneliussen, Kevin Wolbert or Ryan Fisher.
-
All we know is silly season has started and until meetings take place who knows what will happen and rumours will always be around.
-
The rumours are 38 point limit, one big league and no gp stars. Until we know for definite who can plan a team.
-
Not unless their own team pay them to not score as much.
-
I know I was just using the riders as examples for guests. Obviously Doyle rides for Birmingham with Barker so wouldn't be available but the others would be. I would rather be going into meetings at this stage of the season with our own 1-7 not relying on guests that's all, so our destiny is in our own hands.
-
Just seen that we have re-arranged the Plymouth home match & Somerset away match on dates that clash with Birmingham fixtures which rob us of the services of Ben Barker. I know we get a guest, but we will probably have to use a guest from a team that is not challenging for the play-offs, as do you really think someone like Doyle, Cook or Worrall will help us win if it means we finish above them and get the pick of teams in the play-offs, I have my doubts.
