As you like him so much Scotsman you could always have him back at Edinburgh or hasn't he lowered his average enough yet.

I'm not blaming the tactical rule, I just don't like it like a lot of fans. They should bring back the old tactical sub rule as long as a rider has three rides and you can use it when you are six or more down. Edinburgh used the rules that are in place like any team would and got an advantage so credit to them. -

Curse of the poster strikes again after I stated we shouldn't get beaten at home, and lo and behold our next match we lose. The team threw that match away, only Cam & Kyle came out of that meeting with any credit. In our group where we sit we have always said that they should never have an interval as the team is never the same after it and they seem to lose momentum. Hopefully it was just a kick up the arse they need as next week with be tougher and we can't afford any more slip ups at home. Congrats to Edinburgh with a little help from the poxy tactical rule which most fans hate, and the inept performance of the ref. (Consistency lacking re the starts). She also should've excluded Erik Riss from the rerun of heat 13 for exceeding 2 mins, (it was the longest less than a minute going when his foot rest came adrift). -
Ipswich V Newcastle Ch 20-7-17@7-30pm
Bash replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
We have been crying out for a team to challenge for the league since we dropped down to the second tier, now we have one some fans are crying out that they are not being entertained. Some are never happy. With this team at home I can't see anyone beating us unless we lose some riders during a meeting. Teams seem to come to Ipswich already beaten and it shows in their attitude & riding. It takes two teams to make an entertaining match and we have only had a couple of teams who have come with the right attitude and put up a fight. You can't blame the promotion for this as Chris has changed the track for the past two seasons. It's up to the individual if they don't want to come to a meeting, but lets get behind this team and push them on to hopefully some silverware at the end of the season.- 125 replies

Noticed that Kevin Jolly came over before the rerun of heat 2 to give Connor some advice to where he should be riding on the bends and it seemed to work as he looked a lot smoother through the bends. Connor always seemed to struggle at the start of the meeting and get better as the meeting went on, but he looked good throughout the meeting last night. Both reserves are holding their own now which is good to see. -
Who is actually riding for Sheffield to replace Howarth as received my program yesterday and I'm sure it had Todd Kurtz in it.
-
I just hope they revert to Schlein at 5 at home to Sheffield at least Sedgmen would have Heeps to score the points in his races. Can't work out the logic of putting Sedgmen at 5, 7 paid 8 from two meetings is not a heat leader score. Thank god the two reserves scored decent points in the two meetings.

Brilliant news for Ipswich as we have four meetings next week, not good planning as Danny would normally be in the world cup team and I was struggling to find adequate guests to replace him looking at averages and riders available. So thanks Rosco. So we go to Peterborough with a full team and they need a replacement for Harris. Just hope nobody gets injured for team GB and Danny gets called up for the race off or final.

The good news with Sedgmen getting released by Belle Vue means we should have a full team every match now as surely we get priority for all our riders now. Sedgmen will have to bang in the scores now to get another Premiership place which only can be good for us. -
His last day was in the Grand Final in 2006 and that line is always mentioned when he signs for a team especially Peterborough. That was 11 years ago and he just doesn't cut it anymore, hence why he keeps getting dropped and doesn't last a season at any club.

I think Eric Riss is turning into the next James Sarjeant, the only heat he didn't jump was when he was off gate 4 as the ref would clearly see if he moved. (You would think anyway) If you read the report on the Official Monarchs website it claims that the track was a difficult track, didn't see that myself. Also people reading it would think that Rory led from start to finish in the rerun of heat 13, not came from the back to win, absolute brilliant ride!! I was a bit worried we were going to lose last night, but the boys turned it around and even stopped Edinburgh taking a point. Just need to start producing away from home. -
Well all of our current side now ride for two different clubs as Cam has now signed for Somerset. At least we get priority over 5 of them, only Kyle & Nathan we will lose to clashes. I gather Rohan will be looking for a championship place now he has been dropped. At least we can't fit him in, which is a good thing.

Ipswich Witches Vs Glasgow Tigers Thurs 4th May C1
Bash replied to Pob's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The rumours are he might be released along with KK from Poole to allow Newman and one other to go more strength in depth. If that is true he wouldn't have any clashes with Poole as he would only be riding for Ipswich. As others have been saying if its grasstrack commitments pay him more or get some sponsorship for him to change his mind. First time I have seen him ride and very impressed. Said in his man of match interview he didn't like the Ipswich track last year but obviously the changes over the winter changed his mind. -
So when is this announcement meant to be today

That's why I said there is not a lot of choice available to us to replace Danyon.

Ipswich V Berwick, Championship 27-4-17 @ 7-30pm
Bash replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Will this meeting be on as weather forecast states light rain from 3.00pm until 9pm. Any updates from anyone in the area. -
His team building average is 4.00 like Fritz Wallner. Jye Etheridge is down as a 4.00 in Berwick's new line up aswell so Paco would come in as a 4.00.
-
What about bringing Gino back to replace Covatti. Not sure what team average you can build up to after 4H & 4A but Scunthorpe's new average according to green sheets is 40.80 with Stefan replacing Wallner. If we kept Sarj at he moment would only leave 4.22 for a replacement and not a lot about. Ben Morley 3.85, Danny Ayres 3.70 or two of our assets Castagna 4.00 & Stachyra 4.00. I think I would rather go like for like with Covatti and try another 2 pointer.

With 7.88 to play with:- Brady Kurtz 7.65 Matej Kus 7.64 Justin Sedgmen 7.60 Rene Bach 7.53 Troy Batchelor 7.36 All of these could do a good job for us.

Ipswich V Redcar Saturday 22nd April
Bash replied to cowboy cookie returns?'s topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Expect a long meeting tonight if he's the referee as he always holds the tapes too long so expect a few reruns. -
On the BSPA site they have Ipswich down for a reserved fixture on the 15th March, but this is not on the Ipswich website. They should really try to put a meeting on this date to give the riders some track time on the new track, we don't need to go into the season cold like last year and start with a loss.
-
Disappointed we are starting without a challenge meeting, if King's Lynn couldn't make it what about Rye House. Tough start going straight into league meeting against Sheffield with only press & practice for track time. Quite a few Saturday meetings and one on a Wednesday, maybe this ones on Sky?
-
Does Elvin King know anything about Ipswich as his report in the Speedway Star continually refers to us signing Kyle Howarth not Newman.
-
Getting back to the Ipswich team Kai Huckenbeck on a 5.14 average would be worth a go. Going back to one of the teams mentioned earlier what average would Nikolas Porsing come in on as he has a 20 match elite league average of 4.99 which converts to 6.99, but his premier league average of 6.58 is based on 3 home & 6 away meetings does this count? Does anyone know which is used as isn't there a minimum home & away meetings to get a proper average so does his pl average count.
-
With Lakeside not competing at the moment (hope they do at some level) how about Adam Ellis, not sure what average he would have but maybe sign him as an asset.
