Right just got home from tonight's meeting and where to start. Firstly speedy recovery for Danny we need you back as soon as possible. Secondly credit to Cam, Michael, Connor & Danyon for not giving up and racing to the end. Now onto Rory, after a very good heat win in heat 1 his attitude stank for the rest of the meeting and he just gave up. After we lost Danny he should be setting an example to the rest of the team but he attitude was disgraceful. He gave up and retired while last in heat 13 and a few of us thought that after Michael's heat win in heat 14 that it would be Michael & Cam nominated for heat 15. We were surprised when Rory was announced in heat 15, but then he really took the p*$$ and missed the 2 mins and got excluded. From someone in the pits I found out he wasn't even in the pits and Connor already had his blue helmet cover on ready to come in. As far as I'm concerned Rory can go and do one and should be replaced. Why should I pay my hard earned wages on someone who can't be bothered, as in the end of the day we the public pay his wages. I want to see a team who try and don't give up. Rant over!

Looked to be more dirt on the track last night which helped the team, not sure Rory liked it that much even though he got a max as he was shaking his head every time he came in from his races. Good start to the league campaign, lets hope for a similar result against Lakeside next week. Will be interesting who we get as a guest at Lakeside on Friday as all but Newcastle are riding that night and I don't fancy any of their riders to replace Nico. Hopefully we can get a decent Premiership rider to replace him. Hope we don't go RR as we should've learnt our lessons after the finals last year about going into meetings with 6 men teams.
-
And finally the management team see the light and put Rory back to number 5.
-
Congrats to Lakeside on the win Danny really needs to look out for his team mates, he was at fault for Nico coming off in heat 13 as he totally blocked Nico's line, and couldn't he try to slow Morris down in heat 15 to give Rory a chance. People will say he is doing his job if he is winning races but there is no I in team. Hope Nico is alright. As stated before why don't the riders get some track time in after the meeting, only Danyon out there, not good enough.

The lack of regular meetings is certainly not helping the team, but that's what the championship promotors wanted. Hopefully they will realise their error and go back to home and away twice next season.

Lakeside Hammers vs Ipswich Witches 13/4/18
Bash replied to marko's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I only live 7 miles from Lakeside, but the meeting on Friday sums up why I would rather drive 60 miles to go to Ipswich than watch at Lakeside where the dirt is still lacking. Riders trying to go wide just went backwards as there was nothing to give them any drive. Why they decided to water the outside of the track during the meeting baffles me as there was nothing to water, and this led to the two riders coming down in heat 8 as it was like an ice rink. Both riders should've been put back in. Congrats to Lakeside on the win, and to Connor on his impressive showing. The tactical substitute rule is a waste of time, better than the double points but you should be able to use it more than once. -
How About giving Nathan Greaves a chance.

I was told that had changed this year but obviously not. Thanks Beerhut, but I would still swap Rory & Nico round. -

He didn't look fast all night and was almost passed a couple of times up the inside. -

Congrats to the Panthers who adapted to the new track better than the Witches. Do the riders not watch the other heats as the Witches kept on riding mid track and getting passed up the inside. I agree with beerhut, when the meeting finished early which is likely to be the norm with the new rules, there were 5 Mildenhall riding getting some laps in but no Ipswich riders. I understand they were probably p***** off with losing but with the lack of track time, they should've made an effort to try things out. It's not as if we have regular fixtures this year, but don't get me started on that. As I understand it you don't have to have your number 1 in the averages riding at 1 in the team this year. I would put Danny at 5 with Rory at 1 and Nico at 3. -
Ipswich V Lakeside Good Friday 2.15pm

Looking at the weather forecasts can't see either meeting taking place -
Race suits look good again, but what happened to the new club badge, seems to be the same witch as last year.
-
I thought the whole point in changing the race days of both leagues was to avoid the clashes with riders riding in both leagues. Then they reduce the amount of fixtures when they could have regular meetings every week except obviously when they face a team with the same race night. It might lead to more fans lost to the sport as the meetings are so spread out. No wonder more riders are pulling out of the sport in this country as how they can make a living out of it with less and less meetings.

The SGB website has been changed in the championship KOC section today but not in the fixtures section. How can it be reported on the SGB site one way after the AGM and then 2 months later be changed. Another case of pi$$ up in brewery syndrome.
-
Have Peterborough pulled out of the KOC as fixtures have Lakeside against Ipswich and not Peterborough who they were due to face in the first round.
-
Agree with everything not impressed with the fixture list with the big gaps in home meetings. Promoters don't seem to want to put individual meetings on anymore. Not sure going straight into League Cup meeting is a good thing as could always do with a challenge meeting to start the season. If Chris couldn't get a complete Premiership team to come couldn't he get a Premiership select team to come including some of our old riders like Nathan, Kyle, Scotty to name a few. We were due to face the winners of Peterborough & Lakeside in the KOC but looking at the fixtures those meetings are not planned, so have Peterborough pulled out of the KOC?

Says a lot about you when you are telling him to STFU. This is a forum and as stated if you don't like what you read put him on ignore. If it was any other club than your team you would be complaining. Ged broke the rules and made money out of it and the little slap on the wrist would probably not stop him or somebody else doing the same in future.

Bit like all the brits in the Poole teams over the last five or so years, only had them at reserve because it was a rule.
-
The team should start around Cam, Nathan & Danyon but Please no Kyle Newman as he is one that keeps giving us MR INJURY & MR RR. Too many crashes over the years and locks up too much at Foxhall.
-
Ipswich should get shot of Stephen Foster after he interviewed Nathan before heat 13 last night. Nathan looked like he had got his head clear again and was riding better after the heat 6 crash. Then he gets interviewed by Foster and the prize idiot asks him about the crash, what happens next he goes through the tapes in heat 14. Yes the record books will show that Peterborough won the KOC but it shows why they didn't make the playoffs as they only beat a team comprising 2 heatleaders, 1 second string and 2 reserves over 2 legs by 4 points after we lost Rory & Danny after 1 race of each leg. The Ipswich team can hold their heads high for the way they kept on battling.

Sheffield V Ipswich Sgbcl Ko Cup S/f 1st & 2nd Legs
Bash replied to Blackadder's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
We had up to 9.01 to replace Rory and go with Ty Proctor on 7.38. Should've gone for Nick Morris 8.72, Richie Worrall 8.58 or Richard Lawson 8.62. Ty Proctor has scored 7+1 from 5 rides and 8 from 5 rides in the two meetings this year, need a bit more tonight if we stand a chance. -
Looking at the official averages there really isn't a lot of choice for a replacement for Connor. Apart from Sarj, Josh Bailey looked the next best. Is James Shanes' Premiership average too high now to replace Connor?
