I don't see why any rider should get a reduction. They have an average and now you are giving teams an advantage the more British riders you have in a team. With the state of speedway and the cost cutting more teams will opt for home based riders so no need to reduce averages. Also, how do they work out rolling averages with the reductions or do they use existing averages.

Steve Worrall already signed for Belle Vue.
-
At least you have a decent number 1, we haven't at Ipswich so at the moment we will beat you to the wooden spoon.
-
Not exactly the inspiring signing we were hoping for, not looking good but it's a case of wait and see if Louis can spring a rabbit or two out of the hat.

Do you really think Tungate & Auty would be team mates!
-
Do you really think that Chris Holder would go near any teams associated with Buster.
-
Maybe Martin Vaculik fancies another shot at Premier League after his very short stint this season.
-
Do you think we have to wait until KL complete their team before we get the left overs.
-
Maybe when Chris finally walks away from Ipswich he could be the man to start the independent body to control speedway. No ties to any club.

Always thought that this wouldn't go ahead as it would be almost 4 weeks from the last meeting staged and people probably wouldn't go. You only need 12 riders for this meeting so an ideal time to bring some new riders in to have a look at them as there would be only 3 Ipswich riders available, Coty, Nico & Cam as I wouldn't think they would risk Drew in this meeting.

Scorpions v Ipswich 24.08.18 SGBC
Bash replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
So Ipswich have thrown the whole towel in now and completely given up. Season over in three weeks, will be glad to see the back of this season and hopefully we will have more fixtures next season as this year has been a joke. -
Wow that was a surprise not. How the management could put a team out like that and expect to win. 5 heat wins at home with no number 1 or 2 at home how do you expect to win. Thank God for Captain Lambert otherwise the defeat would have been a lot more. Man of Match Tom Bacon. Apart from Garcia and Kemp (as you can't expect much as these meeting are just for experience) the team was an embarrassment. Surprised Ritchie didn't say how proud he was for taking Peterborough to a last heat decider, but we didn't deserve anything from this meeting, outgated & outfought. Well only 3 home matches to go until our season is over as can't see them running the 16 lapper.

What a complete and utter balls-up, can't see anything but an away win tonight. Is that the best guest they could get replacing a 8.90 man with a 6.30. See our injury jinx strikes again when we are using RR before the meeting has even started. If they had got 2 guests in the first place we would've least had one heat leader, they won't ever learn.
-
So, we have two guests booked for tomorrow night at Scunthorpe with the same amount of fixtures on both nights. Why don't we have two tonight or do they think as we are at home we should be able to cover easier. Hope nobody gets injured tonight as we will struggle again. You would think with all the injuries we have had when using RR that we would go into every meeting with a full quota of riders, as we never seem to name a number 8.
-
Not being funny but when was the last season we started with a few challenge matches or an individual to give our riders track time. Other track still run their annual individual meetings, so why don't we still run the Star Of Anglia or Billy Sanders Memorial meeting anymore.
-
Can't believe we are using R/R on Thursday, haven't they learnt anything. All the other meetings we have a guest for Danny and now we have our top two out we only get one guest. Is there anything in the rules that only allows one guest.

Craig Cook never left the refs side all through this, in his ear all the time. He rode in wet conditions in Sweden on Saturday, as a nobody in GP racing he is a lemming following the rest. Bet he didn't complain then. When an experienced ex-rider says the track is raceable, they should've given it a go.
-
Got to feel sorry for Chris Louis and all the track men tonight all that hard work for nothing. He did everything the riders asked and then they still refuse to ride. When they interviewed Tai at the Grand Prix Saturday he said we as riders can ride wet tracks but not when it's raining. So what happened today. Cook rode Saturday, but threw his dummy out again tonight. The Glasgow riders looked like they never had any intention to ride and if we had a different Captain than Rory it might have gone on. They should've sent one rider out from each team to try the track, to not even give it a go is a disgrace. The two Captains obviously don't give two s**** about the fans who pay their wages as I've never seen them move so fast running back into the pits when asked to explain themselves on the mic.

No thanks, not even in the same class. Surprised it's taken this long to be dropped.

Peterborough v Ipswich Sunday 5th August

So you didn't read the article in the Speedway Star what Nico said about the incident this season in the Championship Shield meeting, and the Peterborough Management stopping the Star contacting Ostergaard. -

Amazing what a rider can score when he hasn’t got someone trying to take him out. Nico could race without having to look over his shoulder at every turn. Ipswich would’ve won this meeting if they had some reserves. 13+3 against 2+1 was the difference. Some good close racing and our top five was more than a match for Peterborough’s, but 2 points is better than none. -
The trouble with the dust last night was not surprising as Richard Lawson said the track was slicker than usual so they tried to water it early on in the meeting but couldn’t after heat 10 as it would’ve been an ice rink with no material to soak in. From an away supporters view there was some good racing usually when Nicholls was involved. Nico tried hard but was so wide he had the speed but was probably riding a lap more than anyone else!!!! Mark Riss was consistent 1 point for Edinburgh earlier in the season and 1 for us. Didn’t expect anything from the reserves. As for Heeps the first race summed him up, made the gate and went from first to last as he was tying himself in knots every corner. You would think with losing his wolves job he has to have a long hard look at himself to get back to what he was doing last season. Lakeside deserved to win as effectively we were a two man team, but we did miss Connor’s double figure score.
-
You beat me to it Badge, no one is going to ride in it while the playoffs are in full swing.
-
Great to get 4 points tonight, but like I said last week don't judge this team against Redcar as they are bottom for a reason. Next week will be the true test with Lakeside home & away and Peterborough away. Still concerned about reserves.
