The Use Of The New Silencer
billy replied to hooper's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
not knocking you or your mechanical knowledge so dont take it personally just like to reiterate. why should something as simple as a silencer( and bear in mind the old style king will fit onto any engine without problems) have to make a rider alter all his engine setups? it should be bolt on and go.simple. theyre restricting the exhaust gases way too much and thats not right for a racing engine and i dont care what anybody says you cant argue with that -

another thing to. i havent heard one rider or tuner praising the benefits of these silencers. in fact the opposite they all say the bikes are down on power and hard to ride in the deep dirt. its only the non technical minded or non riding fraternity who say theyre o.k. the riders should be the ones who decide end of. -

im entitled to my opinion and im not alone in it. there are far noiser sports than speedway . the silencers are killing the bikes.theyre not right and its proven because the old ones work fine. they should be binned asap. speedway is expensive enough as it is without these silencers.its all very well saying what if a track is forced to close but these new silencers wont satisfy the nimbys and whingers and no track as of yet has closed. -

so wtf are they being used? looks like an expensive year for some riders and a profitable one for engine tuners. back to my question. national league exempt? yes or no? -

is it definate that national league are exempt? yes or no -
well thats all very well saying "bu..er the track" but the reality is it needs someone to get it into shape and make it safe for the riders. its not whinging its fact and although we should be pleased to see racing again which i for one am this track curator buisness is not going to dissapear in a cloud of dust.whoever is going to do it will i hope be revealed on sat. night and please not d. coventry or p. thorogood. still dont understand if the judge has not made his judgement how its still all systems go, or could it change god forbid.

yes it is important who is doing "the flipping track" because for one thig riders safety is paramount and if that track is not done right its"flipping dangerous" and also i dont stand on the terraces so i can see first hand all the debris from the stocks that usally run the night before and the ruddy great holes that appear if water is not got into the base early in the day. it needs a top bloke to prepare that track and not a plough jockey who hasnt got a clue. bring back huggy
-
why cant we be told who is doing the track without all these stupid and childish remarks?

which is what?

is this definate?atm heard nothing from bspa to confirm for sure either in writing or via the internet and nothing from n.vatcher who sent us a txt to say " hold on because theres a debate going on about these silencers" -
but i suppose they were so to speak at the time the meeting was held.still like to know how many votes were cast and how many for and against.thats a democratic vote isnt it? oh forgot were talking about the bspa
-
if thats true and excuse my ignorance then thats 4 clubs out of 8? thats not a majority vote is it? or am i missing something here? and its not lack of brain cells.
-
so. how many votes went against mildenhall? all 8 clubs? or was it so close that peter morrish had to cast his vote as well? he still hasnt explained why it was secret. who voted against mildenhall then? i think we should know who kicked this club while it was down and see who its real friends are .
-
the stadium was there long before they moved as was the mx. funny how someone can move to an area knowing full well there is a long established motorsports venue nearby and then complain.i believe the track was built in the early 70s so well established and its underneath a flight path from a nearby usaf airbase
-
well why doent dave coventry buy the licence etc? he could then put in place a couple of more experienced people to run the speedway and there are people who are capable of doing this im sure but more importantly people who are acceptable to peter morrish, hes picked the wrong people thats obvious and there were other parties interested before so perhaps he needs to go back to them and maybe eat a bit of humble pie .

ipswich always a good supply!never had much luck at lynn!

we use nothing but secondhand tyres discarded by el/pl riders and can usually find enough good tyres to keep us going through the nl season.honestly cannot believe that the tyres we get have been thrown away and goes to show how spoilt the pl/el riders are.we dont see the point in wasting money on a new tyre at nl level and anyway using them has not affected our results and thats the truth.

could this be the answer? " another more suitable partener" for kevin jolly. sounds good to me and maybe just the solution needed to save the club
-
maybe the bspa are somehow albeit a bit deviously trying to recoup their financial losses from last year? im not sure but i think there may be impending legal action in the pipeline to recover losses connected with the previous promotion. have to say though they are out of order for not forewarning the latest promotion earlier. has the door slammed shut for good on the fen tigers or is there a way out of this mess?
-
is it really too late for another potentional promoter to step in and take the club on for 2011? as has been said before two sides to every story and the two people who tried and failed cannot take the blame for this.they did their best and thats all you could expect.the blame for this shambles must lie with the previous promotion who got the club into such a financial mess and i dont know, but you can hardly blame the bspa for being OVERLY cautious.

The Use Of The New Silencer

well we both agree on something.it wont stop the whinging nimbys.i still think the fim or bspa and the manufacturers should publish test results if there are any that is. its not fair to hoist these onto riders and expect them to iron out problems.typical speedway everything has to be top secret. -

billy replied to hooper's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
well if themanufacturers are so confident and you say you have contacted them how about they each and everyone of them publish their test results on here or s.star. we have to shell out £200 each plus for them so its only right they discount whats been happening so far with overheating engines etc.thousands of riders have signed a petition in poland and sweden so how can they all be wrong?from what ive seen even riders at a lower level have engines in a high state of tune and not far off speeds of top riders. anyway the bits for the engine all cost the same difference is lower league riders have to pay for theres.also what can you do to an engine with what is in effect a bung up the exhaust you can only alter the ignition from 25 to 35 and as for carb alterations what is there? more fuel down the bore which is only going to wash off any lubrication there is on the cylinder walls. so come on lets have the all important test results and how to beat the heat. really the bspa or the fim should do this as they are the plonkers who are forcing them onto us.
