At least with KL's season over, he'll have more time to flog those GTR engines he's got taking up space in his lock up.
-
Honestly it doesn't matter if he scored a maximum every Meeting, his contract can be terminated at anytime Best part is, if they don't pay the Rider, he cannot withhold his services, if he does, then he gets a ban, they don't even have to pay him his contracted money, just a pre determined pay scale.
-
Promoters don't need a reason to terminate a Riders contract, they have absolutely no Rights. The Promoter owns you until 31st October, totally unfair system, but it's their boys club, and you play by their Rules, whenever they decide to change them. I know one Rider who was sold to another Club, without even being told, wasn't until the end of the season that his old Promoter told him.

Think that marriage is going to end in DIVORCE as Dolly used to sing.
-
We all make mistakes, could be worse, you could be sitting on a pile of GTR engines.
-
Better buy some more batteries for your calculator, over 300 points per season = 600 points+ over two years. Or learn to read.
-
Wouldn't you just love being the other Reserve, knowing your partner is on about 500% more than you.
-
Wow, some people have money to burn. Bought two complete bikes from a top Polish rider, engines serviced (full history), £4k. In two seasons scored 300+ points per season, gross income 48k from points. Sold bikes after 2 years for £1.5k each. Engines serviced by BAT, no problems, cost £12 per race. No fancy pit mats or new Van, just a nice profit.
-
Don't think engine costs are spiralling, running costs are around £12-15 per race, for a Pro sport that's not excessive, simple fact is, if you're good enough then you'll earn money.Riders still find enough money for fancy pit mats, and new rental vans, and that's only NL level. The Sport owes nobody a living, and nobody is made to ride.

Someone who sees sense at last, oh and I forgot to add, £10 entry.

The competitive argument does not really stand up in UK, Fast Freddie had scored 7,6,9 in his last three home meetings, against poor opposition. Apart from FF, who as we know is not on an out of the box engine, who else is competitive at a decent level?
-
No they wouldn't save a fortune, they are overpriced to buy, they are unreliable, non competitive, and if you are not scoring points you get dropped, I think you should stop living in cookoo land. It's called Racing, you want to win, it costs, the guy with the biggest wallet will win in the end, that's a fact. If you want to be a top Rider, not just a also ran, you buy 5 GM's from PJR, Karger etc and you're somewhere near on a level playing field. No way will everyone be riding the GTR, that ideas dead and gone Ok, quick answer to put PL Speedway on an even keel, Heat Leaders £60 a point, Second strings £50, Reserves £40, no signing on fees, 20p a mile travel, tyre and fuel supplied. Engine costs £12-15 per race for servicing. Will it work? NO, because the Promoters will not stick to it, one will always want to pay a bit more to win, they've made their bed, they must lie in it.

I think they call it fools gold !
-
Going to be the biggest white elephant in speedway history, wouldn't buy one in a BOGOF sale, it's going to end in tears, just like most marriages. And there's only one person paying for this folly, and that's the Riders.

Nobody in their right mind sells a race engine with any Warranty. If they had marketed the GTR as an alternative engine, then fine, but to basically con people into buying them with false claims is wrong, the claims were supposed to justify the high cost of the initial purchase. THERE will be a full report on the new engine in SS shortly. Designed by Marcel Gerhard, Kelvin Tatum has had a massive input, and being built by Sutec AG in Switzerland. Obviously created a lot of interest in the Marketa pits over the weekend. In essence, the aim is to be as competitive as GMs but to run for around 20 hours between services. That's a lot of races. Compare this with Jarek Hampel GMs which, he said, do just 15 heats. But it is not an engine specifically aimed at the top echelon of riders. Far from it. It will come fully built, not in kit form like a GM. The potential scale of economies available to bread and butter riders is quite significant. That's a pretty strong marketing pitch from Phil Rising in 2015. Has anyone done 20 hours, which equates to roughly 40 meetings on an engine without touching it.

Snapped a head bolt, more like the head lifted, thus snapping the bolt/s. Snapped head bolts, worn crank pin, sounds more like Honda F1's problems, than a bulletproof speedway engine, with state of the art oil system, what's the words you use when disputing a Warranty, not fit for purpose springs to mind, glad I never made all those fantasy claims about wear and servicing, sounds like the GTR band wagon have gone very quiet, compared to when they were lording it as the saviour of British Speedway, sounds similar to when Dirt deflectors were going to see an end to those meetings being called off through rain.

So if it's a career ending injury, could be a big insurance payout then. -

Why be a sheep and follow each other, be a man and stand up for what you think is correct. You've just strengthened CH argument, by saying the track wasn't raceable, only rideable, we all know they would not just ride round. -

Kelvin wouldn't even get out of the van, if the track was bad, how things change when it's not your neck on the line. -

Hopefully CH won't apologize for his actions, and would do the same again, if the conditions were the same, this would prove be has the morals and passion to stand by what he thinks is right, and not just find a convenient excuse and whimp out. -
The Cook hype machine promised so much, and yet again failed as usual at any level above UK domestic.

One thing is certain, EK won't be on the same deal as KK.

They supply the bank details, so the BSPA can give them money. -

There is going to be a full, in depth investigation into the calling off of the Match, conducted by the heads of the BSPA and SCB, pre meeting talks have concluded that they will both be having Big Mac meals with nuggets. -
Perhaps the Head of the SCB should intervene, and sort this mess out, he's obviously a neutral, and could rule with an iron fist.
