They do, and the reflection is also wearing a BSPA blazer.
-
They've been doing too much BTCC secret squirrel stuff, don't want to risk any secret stuff getting to the opposition lol.
-
We had a Leopard once, and he never changed his spots either.

Problem is there is the Official amount, then there is the personal unofficial contract, the amounts are vastly different, and the BSPA/SCB are only interested in the official contract, which is just basic money, the rest you can go sing for.

Looks like a Lego kit for 5 year olds.

Change to qualification for a UK visa
Lord Skid replied to Blackadder's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
We are far too soft on foreigners, How can winning an obscure State title by beating a few wobblers, entitle you to a work visa, unbelievable. -
The non committed for 2018 could always have their own conference in the UK, should be a healthy turnout.

2018 Grand Prix Venues

Is Melbourne still happening next year? Or will they be going back to Auckland. -
Must be a nightmare for the Accountants who have to do the books for all these people. He owes me, I owe him, we both owe them, I'll pay them when I do a dodgy deal with the other bloke.

And if he becomes half as good as Peter, he will have a great future.

And how much did it cost to finish the GTR agreement?
-
Might be wrong, but I thought the main reason for going abroad was to keep everyone together for a few days, as most ran their own businesses, and were having to deal with their own work problems, if they stayed in the UK.
-
Perfectly put,if for example Tai Harris wants to spend 100k of his Polish sponsors money on engines, good luck to him, but where the problem starts is when his UK club agree to pay £X00's a point, whereas they can realistically only offer him £150 a point, if he doesn't want to ride for that, then tough, the BSPA have got to stop the tail wagging the dog, but it's not the tails fault if the dog is stupid.

I could have solved alot of Speedways problems, but as now have no vested interest in the Sport, am not bothered one way or the other. Having seen how the BSPA/SCB's latest whims have cost Riders many thousands of pounds over the years, someone has to tell both sides of the story, as you pointed out I seem pretty negative on certain matters, but I've seen first hand how much dirt deflectors, cut outs, silencers, guards etc etc have cost Riders, while many profited out of their cartel ideas. Interestingly now I have to take my £5k GTR to PJR to be competitive, now I've got a £8-10k engine, which might do the job, your arguments get weaker by the posting.

So, at the end of the day, FF binned them for the GM, so if a decent Rider and the Manufacturer couldn't make it happen, what chance has a lower order kid on a tight budget got, as this was the target market. I think you are flogging a dead horse, they tried, it failed, just left a few people with a damaged bank account.

Putting it up for sale is one thing, selling it is another. Would be interesting to know how much the service was. Putting it up for sale is one thing, selling it is another. Would be interesting to know how much the service was.

Only one person to blame, and that's the dumbarse Promoters who pay out more than they can afford, all in the name of winning a piece of silver/plastic ware. Don't blame the riders or tuners, nobody makes a Promoter pay the stupid deals they are signing up to. As one multiple World Champion said to me, they don't have to agree to my deal.

What Would You Change In Speedway Next Season?

Bigger carpets to sweep things under, would help. -
Rathbone/godfrey Allegations

Well, at least the bung should mean that no Riders are owed any money, which would be a plus this time of year. -
This Sums Up The State Of British Speedway For Me...
Lord Skid replied to Gresham's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Seems a long time ago that Somerset was the place to be, massive crowds in the PL against the likes of the IOW, best racing surface in the Country, brilliantly organized, did everything right. How times have changed. -
Anyway, I was proved right, and the people with the vested intetest were found out and proved wrong, think the technical term is 'not fit for purpose'. Interestingly when was the last time you heard anything from the people in the 'know', when FF was using the GTR crankcases the GTR PR machine was running 24/7.
-
You've just proved my points guys, regarding FF, do you really think FF was using an out of the box GTR, get real. If they were competitive, reliable and economical, there would be dozens in use, as Riders are very much like sheep, one leads and the rest will follow, but they obviously didn't believe they could be like FF on a standard GTR.
-
I was never against the GTR, just the marketing which encouraged Riders to buy them, with the promise of being competitive, reliable and economical, all of which proved false, and especially the constant updates on what Fast Freddie was achieving on his, which we now know was not 100% true, he could probably afford his, but I am sure there are lower order riders who are counting the cost.
-
Wasn't the big selling point the fact it was unbelievably cheap to run, with massive service intervals. Something that was totally unachievable, which is exactly what the people without a vested interest were saying.
-
You're right, it can't be revived and work, it was a disaster waiting to happen, all down to the BSPA believing the hype they were fed.
