  1. Quick answer is nothing can be done, it's always been the same, sink or swim is the best way to explain it, much easier to earn a living at Speedway than Moto X or Trials, depends on how good a rider you are, anyone with a PL cma above 6 with the right contacts and management makes a decent living.
  2. Jason Bunyan ‏@bunno_1 28 Oct @RyeHouseFans I'll wait till after the promoters meeting and look at my options after that. Don't think many riders will want to commit themselves until after the promoters meeting, could be shooting themselves in the foot if they sign for the wrong Club.
  3. More probably moving up, but the structure will be completely different, so it's not EL and PL as we know it.
  4. If the new League structures work out as planned, Neil might just decide to hold on a while, as the value could rise considerably.
  5. You could even call it the British Elite Super League, bet Matt would love to win that, and I bet a few Clubs would actually like to make a few quid.
  6. It's old news now, the sports been on it's uppers for a few years, just raking over the dying embers at present, the 770 average is definitely not the lowest, but with the bar and catering income, would be just about enough to run in the PL, and not loose a big wad of cash, but as for the EL, only option is to finish it totally, and run one big PL, it won't be popular, but the sport simply cannot afford an EL.
  7. GB is fast becoming a non English speaking nation.
  8. Exactly right regarding the fence, with an air fence, the first rider would definitely have damaged it, giving the second rider following very little protection. Along with the old Ipswich panel fence, two of the safest fences in the sport.
  9. Low turnout was probably due to Plymouth being packed out for the Exeter Challenge match!! Something definitely wrong when a Cup Final doesn't attract anyone, what's happened to the old OTA track where the racing was the best in the country? Now just another slick fest, not the most attractive opposition, but you can only beat what's in front of you.
  10. Wasn't the idea behind dirt deflectors supposed to be to save meetings being called off when the shale was a bit wet, but the weather was good? Or just another added expense, with no real advantage, due to so little shale on the tracks.
  11. Chris Holder's accident should never have ended as it did, no way should he have gone into the barrier behind, that fence had a major flaw in it, and unfortunately Chris was on the receiving end.
  12. The air fence is basically a good idea, the problem is what is actually behind the fence, which is what the rider hits when he goes under or through the fence. I'm sure that the testing is not carried out with the air fence propped up against an Armco barrier, or with thick wooden or metal posts used to support the fence.
  13. The Police were called to the Stadium, apparently someone stole the shale, apparently it was a very slick operation, carried out by two males who were as bald as a badger, who fills the team with racers, then prepares it for Jimmy White.
  14. Should easily win the Race suit of the Year 2013 award.
  15. Lawson guested for Sheffield twice at home in 7 days, have the rules changed?
  16. With the money to be made from waste tipping, why on earth bother to run Speedway?
  17. Only way to cure the problem is to shorten the straights, not sure if it's feasible to do the pit bend one winter, then the other bend the following winter to spread the cost, the shape of the bends are great, if the straights are shorter.
  18. What a shame to see such a good setup ruined by the track, the riders hate it, the crowd hates it, just alter it before it's too late, to almost overtake is about as good as it gets, can't believe the crowd was as good as it was, as the entertainment was terrible.
  19. Drugs in sport should always attract the stiffest penalties possible, as for being an Official as well, it's unbelievable, especially associated with a Club dealing with up and coming young riders. Don't think there's an anti Michael Lee campaign at all, he's one of the nicest most liked people you could meet, it's actually an anti drugs in sport thing.
  20. Why not check out the air barriers used in Moto GP, far superior in design and effectiveness, higher speeds, heavier bikes, don't move or explode or allow you to slide into Armco.http://www.airfence.com/news_silverstone.html
  21. Ok, i'll come to Oz to race, which League can I ride in, and how many Meetings can I ride in, at £50 a point and get paid travel? Appears that there's an awful lot of Aussie's making a living in UK speedway, if you're good enough, the chance is there.
  22. Why do you need a No.1? Rye House are doing nicely without one, three big wins last week, horses for courses can be just as effective.
  23. Good to see a ref actually applying the rules, apparently he had silencers and carbs checked before the Meeting, as well as making sure the starts were legal as well, seems like he's only got fuel, engine size and drugs to check and he's got a full house.
