  1. Both Hagon and Dugard have been at Rye every sunday for the last month testing the new bikes, they are very impressive. You can tell from speaking to them both that it's a project they are 100% behind, let's just hope they are given as much help and support as possible, from the powers that be.
  2. £40 a point, don't make me laugh, the Promoters will soon break that rule.
  3. If JG and LB are 100% fit, , if SB can reproduce his best for a whole season, then Rye have a good chance of reaching the play-offs, far too many if's in the line up though.
  4. Must have given undertaking to Race, or would have been asked to leave the AGM.
  5. . Go and watch the Steeldogs in the PL, £8.50 to get in, you'll love them.
  6. You don't get it, do you? It won't be the EL as you know it, just a strong PL, should suit Panthers, at least they've goy a chance to stop loosing a small fortune every year, nobody, however wealthy will continue propping up a bankrupt business.
  7. The EL in 2014, will be like a strong PL, so it's no great step up, this then leaves the PL with a North and South division, with home and away twice being used due to the smaller amount of Teams in each league.
  8. Normal business practice, the PL Club get a good rider for a short period, costs them virtually nothing, Rider gets an average as required, everyone wins, has happened for years on the south coast.
  9. EL is totally broke with the Sky contract, can't be any worse without them.
  10. You've got some riders already on low money, only problem is they're basically broke, so have to pack up, it's a vicious circle, basic equipment is just not good enough. The Promoters are their own worst enemy, they could all agree to only pay £50 a point, only trouble is, there will be one or two glory hunters who will pay a bit more, so then the rest have to follow suit, so as to remain competitive.
  11. The smart money is on three leagues, PL North, PL South, and watered down EL, with Clubs being shuffled round accordingly.
  12. Quick answer is nothing can be done, it's always been the same, sink or swim is the best way to explain it, much easier to earn a living at Speedway than Moto X or Trials, depends on how good a rider you are, anyone with a PL cma above 6 with the right contacts and management makes a decent living.
  13. Jason Bunyan ‏@bunno_1 28 Oct @RyeHouseFans I'll wait till after the promoters meeting and look at my options after that. Don't think many riders will want to commit themselves until after the promoters meeting, could be shooting themselves in the foot if they sign for the wrong Club.
  14. More probably moving up, but the structure will be completely different, so it's not EL and PL as we know it.
  15. There is one thing certain, after the rules are finalised, this forum will be the busiest it has ever been, and the promoters will be hard at work trying to find loopholes in the new rules, in theory the setup sounds really good, only downside will be the lack of variety in the visiting Teams, the alternative is Speedway is finished as we know it!
  16. If the new League structures work out as planned, Neil might just decide to hold on a while, as the value could rise considerably.
  17. Who's designing the new Southern Super PL trophy, as it will no doubt take pride of place in Matt's Trophy room, or will he play safe and go for the Super NL Trophy instead?
  18. Two of the best straights in World Speedway, and two of the best bends, only trouble is, when you put them together, they just don't work, if all it costs is £8k to put it right, then whoever said no, is very misguided.
  19. Averaging 770 Supporters, would only pay for 3-4 of those riders, already lost a load more money next year.
  20. You could even call it the British Elite Super League, bet Matt would love to win that, and I bet a few Clubs would actually like to make a few quid.
  21. It's old news now, the sports been on it's uppers for a few years, just raking over the dying embers at present, the 770 average is definitely not the lowest, but with the bar and catering income, would be just about enough to run in the PL, and not loose a big wad of cash, but as for the EL, only option is to finish it totally, and run one big PL, it won't be popular, but the sport simply cannot afford an EL.
