Len got away with only paying for 18 points, he'll be thinking it's Christmas. -

Sounds like Drury's still around. -

Why kick the Brit's out of Spain and Portugal, we spend our money in their Countries, unlike the Poles who come over here, work, live on cabbage and take their money back to Poland, without putting it back into our economy. Totally agree Odds On, let's get our own house in order, before we become a World Charity, thank God for that piece of water between us and Europe -

Another lot who have a great Homeland, so why come over here, about time we looked after our own first, and let the rest look after their own. -
That's a pity, should have been put in charge a couple of years ago, but could never see him in charge with Len in the background, very knowledgeable guy, too many good people people leaving Rye, trouble is the wrong ones are still there.
-
What a joke, so the future World Champ was in last place, and Lanham was expected to give him £70 approx and let him past.
-
Ha, i asked the same question, but couldn't get a straight answer, my money's on that it's gone on "legal" and charity work. Sad to read that Arthur Daley died this week, but there are still plenty left in real life.

Sky's involvement was the kiss of death for our domestic Speedway, just admit it, the Sport as we knew it is finished, can't believe the SS is still profitable with the amount of Supporters around, but don't panic a white knight called GTR and his trusty steed Briggo, are going to save it, would like to know how many Meetings the compulsory dirt deflector have saved, now that the Riders have made them almost useless by fitting softened rubber rings.

Plymouth, as in Bowdon ahhhhh, does he own a firm of Solicitors as well.
-
Well f*** me, that just about says it all.
-
Anyway, so where has the money that Colin left to Exeter actually gone, simple question.
-
Didn't they just get saved from mid season closure by a local Saint, so what has happened to Colin's legacy?
-
I suppose it was pretty obvious that some low life found a way of getting at the money left for Exeter, sounds like Plymouth are top of the PL when it comes to losing money, or other peoples money.

You don't have to be that great a Rider to gross £500 a meeting, nett profit is a whole different matter. -
Didn't Colin leave a very large sum for such a project, hopefully it hasn't been squandered over the years on pie in the sky ideas, always easy to work with someone else's money than their own.

Somerset And The Confederate Flag
Lord Skid replied to drvortexz's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
If it was OK for the BBC on the General Lee, then it's OK by me, let's face it, the Union Jack isn't exactly squeaky clean when it comes to slavery, opression, and the like, look on the bright side, we did make the Aussies what they are today, perhaps we did go too far with the Irish and Scots years ago. -
Crap silencer on crap track is a fairly high common denominator.

The flag has been perfectly OK until some psycho with a gun and a flag went on the rampage, would be far better to have gotten rid of the gun than the flag. -

And here's me thinking IS was Island Speedway. -
Harris probably watched Jenson Button driving the Honda and thought, pay me a shed load of cash and I'll trundle around at the back, at the end of the day it's all about money, and making a profit, nobody can deny Chris that right, don't tell me that Tai, Kelvin, Ole, GTR, PJR and all at the SS are doing it for the good of the Sport, no, they are in it for the £££'s, nothing wrong with that at all, but please, none of this trying to be the saviour of Speedway, next they'll want a knighthood, worry more about saving Scunthorpe and a few other tracks, rather than worrying about Marcel driving around Europe with some engines in his boot, it's been going on for years, Zierk was a Master at it, only difference was that with his, you would be on the Podium, and You paid for the privilege.

OK, we'll lose the sense of humour, Admission is miles too high, It's a £10 sport, but the BSPA used to set a minimum, not sure what it is now, but it's too late, the Sport is finished, go to any Superstore or Garden Centre, and see the full car parks, people want more for their pound, they don't want to get covered in dust watching 6 decent races spread over two hours, and pay £15-50 for the privilege -

From Aug 1st you score double points if you use a GTR engine, and you can use a Joker if you use a legal carb and fuel as well. -
Which piece don't you think is correct?
-
No GTR engines used at Cardiff by the GP riders, even though some were offered 10k to use them, but no takers, they chose to stay on their rocket ships.
