  1. I'm a Poole fan. I had a friend come along to his first meeting. I was very disappointed with the lack of racing once the first lap was out the way. Not a great advert. That said it was extremely hot which must have been a nightmare for maintaining the track! But if you think that was a great meeting then you must be very easily pleased!
  2. The World Champion has just come back to the EL on an average of just over 7. The other British rider in SGP is around 6.7. Is 7 really unreasonable!
  3. So the ref called Heat 12 wrong on Monday. So what! Football referees give goals that weren't. England were knocked out of the World Cup by a hand ball, so were Ireland. Riders stay down when the opposition is on a 5-1. In cricket batsmen are given incorrectly ut or in. That's the nature of sport!. It's because it was a Poole rider that its being flogged to death!
  4. What is wrong with cheering when an opposition rider falls, gifting points to your team? Particularly when, like Harris, he was quite likely to overtake and win! Obviously the majority of fans don't want to see any rider hurt and I wouldn't condone it if it was a serious crash,, but in the instance discussed it was clear Harris hadn't had a heavy fall! So where's the problem?
  5. That's because they had history from the last league meeting when Sarjeant had a blazing row with the start Marshall who was passing on the referees message to keep still at the start!
  6. You can do what you want with stats! Heat 8 was a 5-0 so they weren't going to push Heat 9 was 66.6 (won by a reserve; refer to Heat 2) and Heat 10 was 66.1 (two riders no opposition) Newman and Robson didn't seen to have many problems in Heat 9. The only person who has a problem with the track was Garrity. In contrast Stake, who would be considered the weakest of all riders on show was unbeaten by a Coventry rider! The arguments at the end of Heat 8 appeared to be delaying tactics to try and let the track deteriorate further. It reminds me of the test match in Pakistan that England won in the dark as the Umpires wouldn't let Pakistan go off for bad light because they had slowed the game down with that in mind!
  7. I'm a big fan of Ward; the rider, but not Ward; the person. However I think he should be thrown out of the series and made to go through the qualifying system to get back in.
  8. Coventry were -2 on the spread last night (-4 on some bookmakers!). I was so surprised I thought I'd missed something. Anyway, Wolverhampton at +2 was a no brainer! I only spread bet and only bet when I think I have the edge! I've bet in the past just for the sake of it and come unstuck. 9 out of 10 so far this season! Maybe I'm just lucky, but I'll keep going and see if it keeps working!
  9. I only bet on the handicup result. Rider head to heads are too volatile. I try to only bet when I think the spread is wrong, rather than betting just for the sake of betting! So far I'm 7 from 8 using this system, but it's early days. Maybe I've been lucky!
