I suspect Zloty which I think would make the sign on fee around £34k and circa £400 a point

According to another thread Sweden have given up on Thursday’s and will race on Tuesday only in the hope that the Poles relax the rules about how many leagues riders can race in. Perhaps the ROW should race from October to March, at least they would have a wider choice of riders.

Wait long enough and it could be the coronation cup. -
Sheffield v Wolves 06.19.22 PO semi second leg

Well that was bollox. All over with so many heats to go. Not a spectacle more a car crash as far as entertainment is concerned. Add to this two of the most nauseating team managers in the sport (apart from Hawkins) and it sums up why the sport has finally reached its nadir and no right minded investor would think that this is either entertaining or a viable business proposition. If I was Eurosport I would hand back the rights to televise u k speedway. -

And trying to get excited about the racing which is worse than watching paint drying. Why don’t they just say this is crap and not worthy of live television, then shut up a play background music during each race. Bore fest sums up this year’s climax to the season and the morons in charge call it entertainment -

It really does not excite as a meeting. Sad that the play offs are not living up to most people’s expectations in terms of a spectacle. Oh well always next year. -
Agree plus I think that they would need to permanently keep equipment here as it is problematical importing kit into the U.K. Would it be financially worthwhile for many of the riders? Clubs are struggling now from a financial perspective and do you think these professional riders would put up with the farce of programmed meetings here in the u k given that here we are in October and some clubs will have trouble completing their fixtures before the end of October. Yes it would be good to see some of these top flight riders but in reality it will probably not happen given all the logistics issues and increased travel costs between the u k and Europe.
-
Apart from a decent team, most punters would probably like to see a well thought out racing programme with at the very least regular fortnightly meetings throughout the summer months, not the situation the three leagues are in. The play offs should be done and dusted in late August/early September. What is wrong with those in charge of the sport? For goodness sake start thinking about how to adapt the sport to the domestic market and stop chasing something which is never going to happen, the top overseas riders gracing us with their presence (unless the season is over elsewhere and they see the u k as a soft touch for a few more pounds/euro in the pocket). Diversify and put on the meeting as an event not just 15 heats over two plus hours and think that is job done. It is not value for money. Dump Eurosport for the domestic racing and let BSN take over the broadcast of meetings, invest in what you have not some pipe dream that televised meetings on a main channel is the panacea. So much opportunity but it just lacks imagination by the dinosaurs who run the sport.

Oh forgot that if possible Hawkins ought to do the manly thing but probably still believes he has go what it takes. You have not. -

Witches need a clear out. If Doyle is available and does not travel north to the stars then it is build a team around him. Tungate, Batchelor, Starke and King need to go. -

Mildenhall could probably use him if they ever get round to racing. -

Robert is a class act and good luck to him. Sad that he has be brought in to bolster a team that probably did not need it and is up against an opposition who gave up last week so no real test for him. Can they transfer the live coverage to the other match. -

Can Batchelor also leave the building. Waste of space. -

Witches are as expected. Why bother chasing points, King needs to keep out of harms way for his main team. Hopefully we will not be a Witch next year. He has had his chances, move on please. -

Not sure what the fuss is about. As a tie it is over, the Aces are through so just treat it like an individual meeting (ignore who is wearing what race jacket) and hopefully you will see some good races with those who turn up and hopefully all come through unscathed. -
Unless a miracle occurs the Witches are out so is anything other than the state of the Aces team in the final relevant. In this easte of time meeting Doyle can go for it in terms of points money but the rest of the side are hangers on who will pick up whatever morsels are available and so we all hope next season will be better but the top table in charge of the sport will maintain the status quo and another year of sh.t. will ensue. It needs a radical change with weekly meetings and play offs in late August or early September but all on here recognise this. It is just the twats that run the sport who cannot see the wood for the trees. Even the riders are getting p.. off with the intermittent meetings but no one in authority is listening. The sport needs a radicle change but as long as you have the clowns in charge nothing will change apart from another season of fewer punters crossing the stadia threshold and the guys on the track who deserve the support are racing in front of fewer and fewer fans. A heart felt message to BSPL, piss or get off the pot.
-
The sad thing is that it could just add another dimension to the racing but the dinosaurs who are in charge really fail to get to grips with the mood of the punters and prefer a ‘take it or leave it’ scenario. Maybe this is the opportunity to start an alternative league to replace the NFL and let those at the Isle of Wight take the initiative and run it thereby offering something different on a U k wide basis. Machines that do not inflict noise pollution and riders who have a level platform in terms of bikes and hence rider skills may come to the fore. It may seem odd but I would prefer to watch Riders on machines that rely on the skills of the racer rather than the power of the machines used by the gate and fly merchants who hang on for dear life to a powerful bike that most have trouble controlling and races/heats that are processional because it all depends on who has the deepest pockets to throw cash at the machine to make it goes faster. Put those guys on a level playing field and let’s see just how good some of the rides really are. it will not sit well with many but the sport needs so much change to survive and something like this offers a faint glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel rather than a train coming the opposite way. BSPL please wake up and anyone who cannot face up to the issues should walk away now.
-
For anyone wanting to start out, it seems ideal without the huge ongoing costs. If you had enough people using the bikes, it could be a good addition to a meeting and perhaps that is what speedway needs, the main event with other disciplines alongside. Fortnightly meetings that are more a festival rather than just fifteen heats and then get on your way. As it stands speedway in the U.K. needs to try something new and innovative or simply die a slow death as is the case for the top tier of the sport. A meeting should be an event not an endurance test for the punters.

Probably a smoke screen. £4 share capital and two of the four have 33 other directorships between them. Interesting that it was set up today and probably cost no more than £100 to establish the company. So sell out to Gaming International, make a few bob on the side and pretend to be interested in building a new arena elsewhere when in reality they could/should have looked at this year’s back. Another historic venue and club sold down the line by a few spivs. Would you trust any of those four to do the right thing? It will be interesting to read what the local MP’s take is on this news. You can hear it now how he did everything he could etc. Some dodgy dealings gone on here and no one will ever find out who got what. How many more clubs will the sport lose? Where was the top table of this prominent sport of speedway while all this was going on? They are another bunch who you cannot trust, they cannot even get fixtures completed in summer months let alone oversee the sport in the U.K. for the benefit of all, Too much self interest. Today this is a loss for the whole of speedway.
