  1. Vatcher who has no one can confirm has ever been a rider and as a consequence has no track experience is gifted the opportunity to take charge of riders and makes decisions based on nothing other than your face fits or not and nothing to do with rider skills. It says it all about what is wrong with the sport in this country. If no one else with some relevant experience wants to take on the mantle, then desist from competing as your credibility goes out the window. You cannot have someone like Vatcher taking charge, on the basis of the excuses given for his involvement. I would suggest that you have so many on this forum who could do a better job. It is hard to decipher what Vatcher brings to the party and one or two contributors on here could make a better success of the role. Vatcher is a lost cause and should disappear from the speedway scene notwithstanding those who believe that he is doing the sport a favour.
  2. Assuming it is true, it sums up what a state the sport is in, it vindicates Chris Harris comments in the Speedway Star and really makes a mockery of any suggestions that Chapman cannot afford the wages bill. It could all be pure conjecture but in this game you have to suspect that the underhanded nature of one or two in this sport in their attempt to survive should not be under estimated and ought to require detailed investigation but that will not happen. One or two promoters might break ranks over some of the shenanigans but in reality those on the top table will see moves like those seemingly being carried out by KL as only benefiting the top league and believe the punters will approve. Those in charge are not in the real world and should pass on the baton or walk away now for the sake of those clubs who believe in the future of the sport. Time is no longer on the side of the chancers.
  3. Whatever the reasons for the postponement it should be a final wake up call to the other teams in the league and the sport in general, the current business model does not work in the top league. With the potential closure of one or to clubs and the understandable reluctance of teams to move up, now is the time to review where the sport is and set a new direction. Whatever the resultant of any discussions and no doubt it will not suit many, something new needs to be tried. To start, no clubs should be run/owned by the same person unless in separate leagues. Race nights should suit the club not the leagues preference. Introduce a wider range of meetings and disciplines to provide the punter with a sports experience not just a one trick pony, league racing, 15 heats take it or leave it. Unless club owners can see some benefit you will never see an independent body run the sport. What it needs if the powers that be can agree is a look back at why it was successful, why it has failed to keep pace with changing attitudes and what do the Poles do that make most league matches an event which just does not happen in this country. Who would not want to go to a stadium full of chanting fans and the atmosphere which at best you only get over here in the play offs. Polish teams in the top league get that atmosphere every week. If it cannot or the owners do not want to run the top league as a professional sport and cannot commit to league meetings within a limited time frame and stadiums are not available and riders do not commit, then stop the league farce, drop down or the top clubs run open licences with individual meetings/events and operate a 4TT format. No point in blaming Chapman or any other promoter, collectively they have got it wrong big time and they can either change or continue to throw good money after bad at the sport or walk away. No one else will step into the breach with the current business model, so it is change or fold.
  4. You really are an FCW but having read many of your posts I am not surprised. Prick
  5. Why? You show respect to those who know what the word means. Check out Adam’s comments about the meeting he was in before the World Cup. He showed little respect for his team mates or the opposition.
  6. I think you will find that Ellis is an also ran. Why don’t you mind your own business. I do not moan about riders who make a genuine effort but the set up in this country says it all about the sport. Carry on replying but I have no interest in you opinion and rest my case, the sport is dead in the U K and thankfully the Poles know how to put on decent meeting.
  7. No I don’t I have an opinion but perhaps you are a contributor to the woke society. Why don’t you mind your own business, Ellis has his number one fan covering his arse.
  8. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. As to the state of the U.K. speedway scene, it is not down to the debate on a forum about a rider, it is all to do with the powers that be who run the sport. It is a shambles, it can be so good (look at the meetings from Poland this past weekend) and the supporters, the atmosphere and without some serious changes it will never match the Polish offering. The Poles take individual meetings seriously, UK riders pick and chose because of the poor pay rates etc. If you want to compete with the best start running it professionally or you end up with what you have in this country, a failed league system, intermittent meetings throughout the summer months and supporters who drift away because no one can take the offering seriously. You sound like a promoter banging on about being glad you have the sport I was glad when w had ride s who wanted to compete in individual meetings and did not not see league racing as the be all and end all. Why don’t you have a go at the riders or does that not fit your remit?
  9. No more than your sibling. If you cannot take the criticism than don’t come on a forum. Your choice. But let’s just see how the he gets on in Cardiff if he can turn up uninjured. I would not p... on him if he was on fire, an arrogant little rubbishe and having seen your response I know where he gets if from.
  10. Guess your related. Every one entitled to an opinion and I could say more but it would be wasted. He is not as good as he thinks he is, knocks his Polish opponents in league meetings when interviewed and shows little respect for his competitors. Let’s see just how good he is in a real competition.
  11. Lowest common denominator in pole position. God help British speedway. Feast and famine with this guy. No I cannot stand him after all he has done in the past and he is lucky but has little in the way of decent opposition to test him and those who need to fight the way to Cardiff will come good in later years. If he wins let’s hope he can race this time to see just how good he thinks he is on the international stage against real class riders.
  12. Have I missed something but has any winner acknowledged the effort/ racing of the second placed rider?
  13. Use NDL for those who have dropped out and the NDL guys only have to complete three laps whereas the rest do four.
  14. Probably needs a total revamp. The bull...te fours made up of three riders and Mr R/R with each team facing each other ten times during the season. The U.K. Pairs will be re-introduced however to avoid doubling up second strings and mechanics will only be allowed to compete. The British Championship to be held over four rounds with each team in the top league required to track their number one rider. All meetings will be held on Sundays during August with the final to be on the 5th November. The league meetings to be held only in September and October with the play offs to take place the following March to give teams time to regroup. New governing body to take over the running of the sport, the Women’s Institute will hold their annual conference on the first Friday of each month. Finally all riders must revert to Jap and Jawa engines. All of the forgoing should fix British Speedway’s problems.
  15. Understand the sentiment and I go way back to the days of Rayleigh on a Saturday night and towards the end of a meeting listening to the results from the other Saturday night tracks. Early 1970’s when characters graced the sport (Doug Templeton, Dingle Brown, Geoff Maloney etc.) and you looked forward to Saturday night racing. Where has all gone wrong? I really do not know but you can probably point the finger of blame at so many in the sports governing body but back in the day Berwick was a stalwart notwithstanding and it was always great to see the team grace the Weir raceway. Do not give up or allow it to disappear. Too many clubs have gone by the wayside. I live too far away to follow the Bandits by turning up on a Saturday night but I still want a club with such a heritage continue. Keep the faith.
  16. No everyone is entitled to an opinion but your inability to read the response is clearly a problem for you. I said in brief without writing war and peace, if it was not suitable to be used in the race, or to put it simply, damaged beyond being safely used in the restart of the race. What more do you want in an explanation. On that note I give up and will go and watch paint dry as it is clearly a better option rather than continue to responding to the clap trap from a demented subscriber who clearly has limited intelligence and little to add to any debate.
  17. What is your problem? Read the reply. If the bike was not fit to be ridden. Go shove you head up your arse and breathe in gently.
  18. No. Better still they have to push the bike to the tapes and when they go up the riders have to push start the bike, stops any gardening.
  19. Only if the bike was damaged and could not be ridden, that is what I meant. If it was rideable then none of them should be allowed back in the pits
  20. Three rides do not need to go back into the pits. Time to stop this farce of given riders a second bite of the cherry. Freddie possibly if the bike is damaged.
  21. Cannot make easy for them. They need to be tested!!! Only joking but they are all dropping points but it is what it is.
  22. Compare the latest stats to those in the first group of races and you can see how things begin to even out. It is amazing the number of incidents and these guys generally walk away and get back on and ride as if it is part of th3 job. Not many other sports would you see high speed crashes and these guys bounce back. Something for everyone in this GP
  23. Nope. It is more about the talent and that excludes the riders. Seriously the racing has improved in the latter stages and hopefully Dan can bounce back. Need to on pin Bart back but let’s hope we have a good close final group of races.
