  1. Interesting that Mr J Cook slagged off the NL and it's riders in his programme notes earlier in the season ... now there's rumour of a junior academy re appearing at Arlington. Does he think the academy will provide riders for his Eatbourne team ? or to be loaned out the NL he clearly dislikes ?
  2. For those who hadnt seen this on the "Glasgow 2019 onwards" thread ....... On Wednesday 11th September a SCB Court of Appeal was convened at the ACU Offices in Rugby. This related to an appeal brought by Craig Cook against a 12 day suspension imposed following events that took place at Eastbourne on the 3rd August 2019.After considering all the information from all parties, the 12 day suspension was recinded and replaced with a financial penalty So despite the Arlington possee demanding Craig Cook be hung drawn and quartered , the SCB court have revistied the evidence and reblanced their verdict. A fine for Craig and a suspension for Kennett for his pre mediated assault and a suspension for Vissing for deliberately breaking the tapes seems to be the end of this sorry saga.
  3. Allegedly Kennett “picked up a knock” in his long track outing ... requiring a last minute gust booking . Credit to Doolan for stepping in at no notice . Seems Eastbourne have some issues with rider commitment - with Woods absence from his IOW fixtures leading to a 28 day ban, and Kennett’s behaviour not what would be expected of a rider who started his career as a young lad at Eastbourne’s junior track .
  4. "did Cook bother to go " waco .. that's a good question. another good question might be......why did Schlein not line up for the Eagles at number 1 ?
  5. Well well .... all a bit of an anti climax. According to the excellent "speedway updates" site I counted 8 heats listed as from the gate, and Eastbourne failed to deliver a home win. After the "heady" heights of the rousing Glasgow home win of a month ago , the Eastbourne team have faded badly on their little home track at Arlington. Maybe just maybe the can deliver at Leicester tomorrow ?????? I wonder whether their Director of Speedway Operations Mr J. Cook will manage to get to Beaumont Park ?
  6. Your response quoted my post viz a viz denominations of cash and Scottish currency ..... thought it reasonable to assume that’s what YOU found irrelevant. Saving people with the incorrect denomination of cash from being turned away from Eastbourne Speedway seemed relevant to me. Clearly you have another opinion. Oh one more thing..... it may surprise you to know that I don’t frequently follow Eastbourne Speedway forum postings. Enjoy your Speedway
  7. Quoted from the Eagles OFFICIAL website for the attention of “ the doctor” Payment at the Turnstiles: There will be Card and Cash Turnstiles open at all Meetings. We are able to accept all major Mastercard and Visa Debit and Credit Cards. We are NOT able to accept American Express (Amex Cards) We can accept all denominations of Cash and Notes up to £20.00. Under no circumstances will £50 Notes or Scottish Bank Notes be accepted due to the frequency of Fraud in these denominations. Click here for ADMISSION PRICES and DETAILS
  8. Cash in denominations of £20 or less (no £50 notes) and certanly no Scottish Currency !!!!!!
  9. Oh yawn Zagar and iversen again. Top 16 in the GPs Don’t make me laugh - there are better Polish riders not in the 2020 GP ...... only GB rep might be Woffinden if he gets a wildcard. So only the wildcards will make any difference to the line up in 2020. ( other than Max Fricke. About time they raced these meetings on proper, regularly used Speedway Tracks . Still next weeks GP is on a long track circuit in Germany never used for regular speedway.
  10. The Doctor.... thank you ... so it’s Bellerby and Jordan . So all the “hangers on” getting involved as usual in these incidents instead of minding their business. Sorry to disappoint , but I did see a video posted on here showing Mr M Dugard deliberately knocking Claus Vissing backwards on the Centre green at the first/second bend area. It was a physical assault. The promoters clearly need to ensure better discipline from their staff.
  11. The Doctor .....should you be called Vale ? Tbh I have no idea who the promotion is at Eastbourne in 2019. YOU say it isn’t Martin Dugard. Others have told me that Mr J Cook isn’t a promoter anymore... but a director of something or other. Ian Jordan is another name that maybe a promoter. Paul Dugard seems to be involved.. maybe just a grease monkey in the pits? You missed the Martin Dugard “lunge “ at Claus Vissing on the Centre green filmed by a Glasgow supporter? Vissing banned for 10 days for that ......oh yes he deliberately broke the tapes ... oh yes he rode off and spoiled the parade ! So Doctor pray tell me who YOU think are the promoter(s) ?
  12. woofers said: "As I’ve said before, both Dugard and Cook were probably unwise and unprofessional in making their remarks and were making points directly aimed at Craig Cook. A better response would have been just to acknowledge the concerns and then let the riders prove the point on the track - which they did. " I think we fully agree on this. Sadly typical of the childish 2019 Arlington promotion style. Dont recall seing Ronnie Greene , Fred Mockford , Charles Ochiltree , Charlie Knott involvedi na brawl on the centre green with any riders..... seems the Eastbourne promoters are all too keen to resort to physical assault on riders.......
  13. H Gould, no hatred of the “ Dugard Family “ per se. They are part of the speedway promotion along with others, and they do show a lack of professionalism at Arlington. Whoever saw ANY speedway promoter getting involved “hands (or heads) on “with riders in sight of the paying public? Disgraceful behaviour. Once again they have got off scot free seemingly placing the blame 100% on Craig Cook.
  14. "Crescent Girl" (not sure I like your flag - not a speedway club I recognise ) but I stand corrected it is the SCB in my " dream world" as you so rudely commented.
  15. From the lack of previous bans for worse misdemeanours than that of Craig Cook, seems that the BSPA reaction has been wholly disproportionate, whipped up it seems because the CAPTAIN of the Glasgow Tigers team dared to criticise the Arlington track preparation directly to the referee. This is turn led to a well documented hate campaign towards the Glasgow Team Captain over the P.A. during the meeting "presentations" leading to the rider departing the presentations early ... the rest is captured on video and has been variously interpreted.
  16. Well there you are ... I wished you good luck and you got it. Should avoid the wooden spoon now ;-) ;-) Hope Alf Bowtell isn't badly injured. He's been in a few "racing incidents" recently and come off worse in this one this evening
  17. M.D. Judge the complete package in a year or so.. who said that Mr J Cook ???? I have heard it all before from Mr J. Cook (think you have too ?) Good luck tonight. You will need it.
  18. ......... two home defeats at the hostile Arlington bowl long forgotten this season eh M.D. ? All about the cup competitions for Eastbourne now , no interest in the p.offs
  19. Have the Cook Vissing and Kennett bans finished now ?? Cook has appealed Kennett gone on holiday Vissing ?? Meanwhile the Eastbourne “promotion” are planning how to wind up and intimidate their next visitors to their little track at Arlington. One thing I have to say their promoters are certainly hands on down in Sussex
  20. Paul Dugard had a black shirt and trousers. Sky was grey looked like a storm brewing......
  21. Just read the Eastbourne "Club Statement" which it seems just intends to rake over the ashes and fan the flames. As previously commented, 2 paragraphs would have been enough to close the matter down. They haven't . What follows is a highly blinkered one sided view of everything that occurred. Lots is made of the Glasgow team waiting until the official referee arived before complaining about track conditions. That is the CORRECT PROCEDURE. Then plenty of "refuting" of pretty much everything. The lady doth protest too much. They can "refute" all they like but the bottom line is that their selected highlights of the events contradicts much of what I saw on the 2 minute video (now conveniently removed). i.e. Craig Cook chose to ignore all Red Flags and Lights, did not reduce his speed before riding in to and around the 1st / 2nd turn towards his teammates, the Eastbourne Team and Mascots and Track Officials at his point of departure. What I saw on the video was Craig Cook slowing up on entry to the first bend and then turning right towards the open pit gates on the 2nd bend where he collided with a marshall standing in the middle of the track with his right arm directing Craig towards he inside of the track towards the exit of the 2nd bend.... and presumably towards where the parade and all the assembled folks were standing ? I will agree that the ban of Eddie (Ed or Edward ?) Kennett was disproportinate. He should have been banned for 24 days for his premeditated sprint towards the second bend from the parade with only one intention ..... to fight with Craig Cook. What is NOT mentioned by the Eastbourne club is the failure of the other Eastbourne rider sprinting from the parade with Ed Kennett in the fist throwing to receive any ban, nor any ban of Paul Dugard for the initial verbal abuse of Craig Cook.
  22. .......and maybe just maybe HGould, Craig Cook made a valid point, albeit one that touched a nerve with the "Dugard and Cook " promotion ? Like him or loath him Craig Cook is a reasonably competent Englishinternational speedway rider, and might know a little about what makes a track safe to ride by ALL riders.
  23. Interesting ruling led by Mr J Cook’s old friend Mr N Vatcher. Surprised that the only Eastbourne rider punished is Mr E Kennett, when I distinctly saw 2 Eastbourne riders piling into the scrum. Mr C Vissing appears to have received a ban for deliberately breaking the tapes. Surprised that the Eastbourne employee allegedly Mr P Dugard not censured for his aggression towards Mr C Cook. Given the haphazard frequency of the fixtures in British speedway shouldn’t bans be for a number of meeting rather than a number of days? I do hope that the many Eastbourne “co promoters” and their announcer take heed of the results of their overtly provocative personal remarks made during the “ pre meeting parade” . No mention of suggested improvements to the Eastbourne track conditions which started this whole sorry affair.
  24. After the bans, fines, hangings, beheadings and other summary punishments have been meted out , if thier is anyone left, a BSPA track inspection will required for Arlington after reading the Speedway Star, to ensure it complies with Health and Safety requirements on the track inside kerb. Hopefully they will send an independent inspector not Neil Vatcher (Jon Cooks old pal at Lakeside?) Should have time to fit this in before the next scheduled home brawl , sorry meeting , wiht Redcar Bears.
