  1. Leicester track seems to be in a swamp. Poor drainer. Also read that the vehicles have to drive all over the boggy track to pump water off - thus making the soggy track in even a worse state. Drains are clearly still not of sufficient capacity.
  2. *hitehart lane - what a joke. ALmost as funny as the original post about Wembley Stadium. Where would you park your car?
  3. In the spirit of what this series was about .. the jubilee of our late Queen Elizabeth II , I sincerely hope Leicester build a competitive side. suggest it is condensed into a one off grand final raced at a neutral venue - my choice would be Alwalton a proven stadium for staging big meetings and with a variable inner white line no “home track advantage” Good luck to the Hunters hope they win * they deserve a trophy for moving into the “premium league” * nothing personal Poole supporters, I just enjoy seeing Middleditch’s face when he loses
  4. Oh the track covers subject. Anyone on here know cost of covers ? How many people neeeded to lay them and remove them ?
  5. Sounds a bit like our railways…… who run trains fast missing out stops on the way to make up time….stuff the passengers waiting at the stops missed. Already see another fixture mess in early winter 2023 . If clubs keep on calling off meetings more than 24hrs ahead of tapes up , and the summer break that now seems to happen un June July - chaos in October is inevitable . should BSPA not agree to run p offs early .. pretty clear now who’s in the prem play offs … and allow Pboro and kl to run a wooden spoon p off of their own?
  6. Surely “in the interests of the sport “ applies ?
  7. I bet Poland were leaping up and down with anger
  8. Poole clearly trying to provide regular weekly action at Wimborne road. With such a small league and coming up to british speedways summer break, there is a risk that supporters will drift away and find other things to do on Wednesday evenings . Fair effort from “Middleditch and Ford “ to try and keep weekly fixtures.
  9. Phil the Ace - OK they got lucky….. the “forecast” was correct! It’s not always the case when you call off the day before, and that is my point.
  10. Like p boro another premature call off based on a “ forecast” . Think the BSPA ought to agree a policy on early call offs … not allowing call offs more tha 12 hours before meeting …. Or else they will never get the fixtures completed.
  11. Phew. Pboro got lucky with the weather. Call offs more than 24 hours in advance are just a guess. The “ forecast” is what it says on the tin. Guess p boro didn’t have enough in the bank to risk a late call off and incur all the associated costs, and took the low cost option to call off yesterday. Still only half a season left, then Buster will be left with an asset that is frankly , worthless.
  12. Ill educated pitch at hosting speedway in “November or December” . I would not be there freezing to death. Roof or no roof. Think someone who knows about the sport needs to be involved. Anyone been there to measure up for a speedway circuit ? Think we are stuck with the Welsh rugby stadium for a few more years yet.
  13. Ok guys , sorted. It’s on the Eurosport 2 channel on BT Sports. Hope this lasts the season….. and doesn’t morph into a TNT channel and require yet another sub.
  14. tbh I am thoroughly confused. Does anyone on here know please how I can watch 2023 SGP meetings (either live or highlights) ?? I have a BT sports subscription. I have a sky sports subscription. Also have a firestick plug in which I used to view Discovery + Any one of those get me some SGP action ??
  15. Unlike major sports in the UK, speedway hasn’t any influential folk in its hierarchy. No multi millionaires with influence in business circles are interested in speedway. UK Speedway cannot attract an A list personality to attend the SGP event. The deal done with Manchester City Council is a unique piece of business, which bankrupted the original promoting team, but created an NSS. It is damning that a UK sport stages its round of a flagship event in a rugby stadium rented for the day from a third party. Morris is right in saying UK speedway needs to own it’s own tracks, but with ex promoters suggesting north of £250k to start up - without some big money investors/philanthropists it ain’t gonna happen. BUT there are tracks lying idle which owners have positively rejected the idea of staging speedway ever again. I think the WHY ? needs to be carefully investigated.
  16. BBC contracted out its weather service to the cheapest bidder= metro group, a few years ago, ending their contract with the metoffice,. You get what you pay for comes to mind.
  17. Maybe KL riders should agree to refund their supporters admission fee after their woeful " home track" performance - just like the Tottenham Hotspurs players ?
  18. Well there's a shock , Poole have been beaten. Apparently in a match that "didn't matter" ? Bet Middleditch went home with the right "ump" . He doesnt like losing poor chap. :-) :-)
  19. Yup TB1 agree 1005. In fact afternoon speedway lacks the atmosphere of evening speedway IMO. If its a sunny day , all todays track " material" just doesn't hold enough moisture to prevent a dustbowl.
