  1. Ignore Heat 2 and 15 and remove highest and lowest score - that'll do the job nicely
  2. What is a actually required, is to apply a multiplier to points scored dependant on the position a rider was in team. It's a lot easier to score 6 from a reserve position than from a heat leader. Downside is it makes things very complicated!!
  3. That's the problem with current GSA rules, big wins cause big swings in averages. Needs to be over more matches to give a more realistic figures. Can't remember what it used to be, but presume they were trying to 'fix' some anomalies but just cause different ones. Needs relooking at
  4. Why didn't Lambert post that on his Twitter feed on Sunday if this was truly the case, rather than trying to cover his own backside now. No one looks good in all of this
  5. They don't seem to want to splash the cash for the right riders, even though a successful team will pull in a few more punters. Brady as one the sponsors as well as team managers might be prepared to help on that front...
  6. Disappointed but not surprised at the patched up teams tonight. Decent night's racing, actually one of the more entertaining ones this season, so thanks to the riders who did bother turning up and putting in a good shift! Jacobsen on his 5pt average is a good start for next season. After a full season in charge, expecting a play offs team to be put together by Alex Brady
  7. Probably final ones to be issued this season, but another set after season has finished (if it ever does) for team building for 2023...
  8. Yup, it's getting to that stage now - do enough to get to play offs and somehow strengthen for a big finish. As Fricke was injured can't really blame Lemmon for bringing in Lambert. If only we could have manged that instead of Klindt, could have been a very different run in to end of season for us
  9. We had an ex-rider (Shroek) and look how good he was... NOT. And we've have non rider Allitt... Sheffield are lucky with Steady.
  10. What a pile of pooh We are 2 heat leaders short of a decent side. Not sure what was up with Klindt tonight, never looked like scoring. Picko is ok when he is on it, but other than early season he has just been chasing shadows. He can be exciting, but needs to gate once in a while. Lawson scored as expected from no 1 position, cos he isn't close to being a no. 1 Worrall just about held his own, but his recent good form seemed to have deserted him. Even Freddie was a bit disappointing after a decent start to meeting. Jorgensen at least showed some fight. Jason Edwards never looked like scoring, seems to be struggling with confidence since returning from injury. We've struggled at no. 7 since Jack was injured. And the track was pretty pants as well. 2023 needs some serious work.... Congratulations to Sheffield, can't see us turning this round with out some sort of divine intervention!
  11. Looks like queues to get in as tickets don't seem to be available online?
  12. This is British Speedway promoters don't forget, defied any kind of logic or common sense for years, and I use the term 'promoters' very, very loosely obviously...
  13. Assume this will be 24th October, now that Sheffield v Ipswich final match has been announced for that date as the pairs at Sheffield is being moved / cancelled. Unless if course one of the league cup final dates is rained off and it's all change again!!
  14. I think we've got a half decent chance, what might catch us out is most of the Stars won't have had any/much competitive action over last couple of weeks so may be a little less sharper, particularly out of the start. Hope I'm wrong and Sheffield have another disappointing week
  15. In my opinion Tobias was already past Kurtz. Kurtz was leaning all over Tobias down the back straight forcing his line into bend 3 and then almost gambled the ref would rule in his favour as he was always going to end in a heap. The camera angle from behind suggests Kurtz should have gone not Tobias, and that's what I'd have probably gone with. 3 tough calls by the ref last night, first one right I think, but not so sure on the other two! But that's speedway. Where does this 'block' move come from that Louis keeps banging on about. In the old days it would have been seen as a dirty move by Kurtz to stick his front wheel at Holder, his intention pretty clear and dangerous. Btw, I'm neutral in all this cos I'm a Stars fan and jealous that we weren't in the playoffs again this year....!!
  16. According to Klindt on twitter yesterday he only has two more matches left in UK this season.... Make of that what you will...
  17. Agree, much better experience with the bigger crowds, always much better in the school hols as more kids and families in, rather than just us old f*rts. Beggars believe that we only had a couple(?) of matches in 6 week summer hols and now messing around trying to fit in League cup final and another league match
  18. Yeah, but there is zero chance of this match taking place before the cup final
  19. The only plus point for this match actually running would be a final chance to see speedway this season
  20. If Brady can get that side, we'd deffo be league winners material. A year away from BV would do Brennan good, suspect he'd drop to reserve, but decent reserve to have allowing for strong top 5 - with 3 genuine heat leaders
  21. Ah, thanks, I missed that. Obviously well publicised!
  22. Are these last two meetings going ahead. Free dates seem thin on ground after play offs, League cup final and outstanding stars v aces league match. November anyone ? Be a real shame, had enjoyed this competition thus far
