King’s Lynn 2024 serious team predictions
kelvinht replied to SamKM91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Klindt would have to be in there for me as second heat leader and probably captain... -
Would be a decent side. Works for me Any team needs to start with Klindt/S Lambert/Rowe - plus a decent no. 1 - ideally R Lambert and build from there. No one else from the current team really deserves another shot in the team. Suspect we might see more from Breum - he looked pretty decent in a couple of matches but pants in the rest - so assume maybe carrying an injury - that said for a similar average Ben Cook would be a much better option

King's Lynn Vs Belle Vue 24th August

Can Tarasenko guest for Klindt and use the r/r for jorgensen? Won't make a lot of difference to the overall result. Belle Vue will still turn us over - just hope for some good racing -

Thought Basso partly had a point, the riders were certainly bouncing round bend one bit like a roller coaster - pretty sure that contributed to one of Danyon's falls and Laguta's. Rest of the track seems ok though from my vantage point between bends 1/2 Would like see footage from Kings fall, at the time I thought Klindt was hard on him and didn't leave a lot of room, but king could have shut off rather than run out of track exiting bend 2. Or maybe that just the difference of opinion being a stars fan rather than ippo fan!!! -

I'm planning on see us get beat again - but if no Laguta I won't bother - we are gonna struggle enough anyway and that would just make it worse. If he is missing I hope the management come clean and tell us in advance - nothing worse than turning up and finding out as that is an even bigger p1ss take... -
On his day, Riss can beat anyone. I appreciate he has just come back from illness, but is riding like he was for Kings Lynn a couple of years back and thats not a compliment

Where is Allit in all this? Still in hospital?

I'd heard something pretty similar from via a close connection to Alex. Certainly seems its his personal side has come into play here and nothing to do with KL or speedway, so no point trying to read any more into the situation than that. Also don't forget Alex brought in Kye to be able to fit Artem in as it couldn't just be a straight 1:1 swap with KK due to the averages. The intention was always to bring Picko back once fit - and depending on averages / performance of other riders in the team at that time depended on who he would / could replace. Obviously with Alex now dropping out and Buster having to step back in that unfortunately hasn't happened. The strange one for me was Freddie leaving 'due to Poland' - coincidence that he went at the same time as Alex or not??

Why do people continually come on here and ask 'was the crowd good?' or 'what was the racing like?' If everyone did that and not bother getting out and supporting clubs there would be no speedway. That was easily the best meeting racing wise in quite a while. After Klindts first race win and leading his second until Freddie had engine problems causing Dan to fall he looked like he might have a decent night - and that probably made the difference in then end. Freddie wasn't too far away from the points either and seems to be moving in the right direction, albeit slowly. Tofty looked back to his best...and that man Laguta - wow - gonna enjoy watching him all season long!! Jason Edwards showed improvement with a decent bit of fight. Having said all that, had Kurtz been there last night BV would definitely have had a bigger win All moving in the right direction - wonder what the change is that Alex has up his sleeve? -

I can't see past a BV win either. Hope I'm wrong. We need to see some fight from the rest of the team this week and that was sadly lacking last week. I'd almost settle for a (small) defeat if we saw some decent racing.... -

The crowd last night was decent, but that was no more than the usual school holiday effect. Laguta probably only helped a little.... -

it's been happening for years and can't work out why - good riders come to Lynn and get worse. Riders leave Lynn and improve. Why do they under-perform when they pull on a stars race jacket? I think the last time we out-performed as a team was when Rob Lyon was team manager... -
Brady is clearly trying his best and to get Artem was a great coup. What we probably need is an ex-rider alongside him in the pits who can talk the same language as the riders and try get the team working better together. Picko could fill that role while injured....

One would hope Artem and Kye both get a run out before tomorrow nights meeting to get a feel for the track - it will be totally new for both - and can't afford for them take a race or two to get up to speed. Stars may sneak a win , but have a horrible feeling we'll end up with a narrow defeat.. -
Fully agree with this but that is where the commonality should have stopped - the management teams at both tracks should have been completely separate. Allit should have been at Lynn or Peterboro - not both - and preferably Peterboro so he was out of our hair Anyone know if the pit gate is now 'fixed' ......

Ipswich V Kings Lynn May 1st
kelvinht replied to cowboy cookie returns?'s topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Its Ipswich, what do you expect - they always get special treatment at foxhole :-( -
2 opening 5-1's for Sheffield killed this tie for Kings Lynn so unsurprisingly heads dropped, particularly MPT who clearly didn't appear to like the track all evening. Sheffield looked very professional and finished the job. Really not sure what to do with this team, we badly need a no.1 who can be relied upon to score points - but realistically, who is out there that would be willing to ride for us. That will take pressure off the rest of the team. Not sure who you would replace though - but averages must be coming down nicely ready for 1st of May....

Didn't I read somewhere that Jakobsen lost his mechanic on the eve of the season to Sayfutinov? Not saying thats the reason, but possibly won't help
-
r/r for musielak weakens sheffield around the Norfolk Arena. 28 points is a very big ask, but not impossible with the right attitude. The right attitude is not Lambert. Sounds like the stars have given up on the KO cup already and just want to give the riders some more track time at home. It looked like a poor crowd against Wolves the other week, which surprised me as it was Easter hols - suspect it will be poor again and Stars management will just be keen to get the match out of the way on concentrate on the league

Kings Lynn v Sheffield KO Cup - 30th March
kelvinht replied to 4BenMoran's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I guess that with early call off flights into UK can be avoided and programmes not produced, so all helps keeping costs down. Hate wet meetings as invariable (and understandably) riders are just going through the motions to get the match over. On this occasion this may not have been right call, although I can't to profess to being that close to Kings Lynn, but south of Norwich have had the odd short shower and a good drying wind with plenty of sunshine through the day and a nice calm evening. Look to be some clear dates later in April where this could be rescheduled too...? -
Edwin Overland has retired and Gavin Canney is taking over on centre green mike
-
would love to see Nicki back in the Premiership - not sure if I'd want him in the Stars colours, but he is box office - never a dull moment. Maybe he's better to be in your team rather than against!!
-
Stopped wasting money on programmes a few years ago. Use/read once, stick up in the loft. Still got a load, but not adding to it other than for 'big' meetings. Its interesting to read what the promoter/team manager/other think in each programme but they are generally regurgitating the same basic words. I can get enough off the t'internet these days...... Had my own spreadsheet, but now use an app (manually have to enter teams and scores, but it works out heat line ups, cumulative team and rider scores, etc) and costs nowt. With ever increasing entrance costs and my petrol costs (100 mile+ round trip to Kings Lynn), a programme is a cost I can happily live without these days. And before anyone asks, no I'm not a youngster, I'm approaching 60 faster than I would like, but I am tech savvy

Hope KK doesn't turn into the Kilderman of 2022...

Jason Edwards must be nailed on for the rising star birth as Jack Thomas as moved to Ippo. Until he got injured in thought Jack was the slightly better of the two
