  1. OMG!!!! I take it all back, Peterborough have just beaten Poole....maybe we still have a chance THIS SEASON after all....
  2. yeah but we are only hanging onto the play offs by a thread, which is getting weaker and weaker as each match goes by. Don't worry, we'll still be there to the end of this season, just got to put a positive spin on some of the riders for a season that promised so much, but was ravaged by injuries and the like.. P.S. Welcome back roo-boy!
  3. I'd settle for most of this years team back next year and hope for an injury free run - I think that would make a good push for honours as Brum, Wolves, Swindon are likely to have to drop riders to get in any point limit. For me 2014 has to be NKI, Schlein, Mads, Steady, Kozza, Richie, Lebedevs (on his own equipment) - that would do nicely...come on you Stars!
  4. thats about it...... Shame about Lebedev, presumably when we brought him on board it was agreed he would borrow equipment. He does show potential, so hopefully we can get him on board next season when he sets himself up properly in the UK with his own equipment. On the plus side, hope Kozza is signed back on full time now...
  5. thought they where white with coloured stars on ?
  6. Every track should have a Paul Johnson, would add a bit of razmataz...
  7. Thought it was another good GP, improved as it went on. Congrats to Niels...cheered me up after we (Stars) were docked two points on Friday. After Woffy, he is my next choice for a winner - got to back Woffy as his is the only 'Brit' this year and would be good for the sport in this country to have a world champ.
  8. Had enough bad luck and changes to last us a decade. This team needs to settle down quick and deliver now - if it doesn't there is no point point making further changes as the play-off's will have passed us by
  9. Looks like Speedway has allies in high places. Can't believe the Duke and Duchess have chosed to honour one of own when naming the new littl'un Perhaps he'll be getting a knight-hood for services to speedway now...
  10. How many more things can go wrong this season! Unless they can find a decent replacement may as well give one of the youngsters a run out
  11. For those that missed it (like me) - its on ITV Player http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/the-motorbike-show
  12. Yep, but even if we did look for a replacement, don't think there is anyone out there that would fit average wise and hit decent scores from the off...so think we're best to stick with what we've got. If it doesn't work out at least we've got the basis of a good side next season.
  13. Don't forget Rory has had a few big off's this year as well. Once he gets into the groove hopefully the points will start to flow. We have made enough changes this season due to injuries so it it is time to give the current line up time to gel and hopefully we might sneak some decent points in the run in to the end of the season and bag that 4th play off spot. Only thing I'd think about changing would be the presenter and try and bring someone in with a decent amout of speedway knowledge who can interview riders and the like during the meeting. Its all very well being able to shout and scream and try an inject some excitement, but there is no substance to his banter. He has improved a little, but is it's still rather painful and cringeworthy. His attempts at the WTC were no better, surely for such an important match someone else should have been brought in. There is talk on another thread about lack of atmosphere, I know GB were never gonna win, but his obvious lack of subject knowledge really didn't help. The one fact that'd he'd obviously learnt was that Woffy was British Champ.
  14. Part of the problem of getting Brits to ride abroad in places like Poland is we seem unable to compete in the wide open spaces of the european tracks, whether that is down to rider skill (or ability to go fast), lack of the right equipment or both I don't know. There are too many 'trick' tracks in this country which will only ever mean riders who stay on these shores will never develop further. It appears to be easier for Johnny Foreigner to learn his trade on continental tracks and then fine tune when they come to the UK than the other way round.
  15. The problem with the car park was the single file exit with the poor 'marshalls' who weren't doing a very good job at letting cars out as they didn't appear to want to stop traffic on Saddlebow Road itself. Maybe a couple of police officers should have been employed to help. And was a poor program score chart. No where to record heat times, no where to put riders total after heat 16 and no where to add comments / tactical rides / jokers easily Oh, the meeting itself was fine, if a little dusty from time to time. Result as expected really. Not that i'm Kennett's number one fan, but he should at least have been given his second ride before being replaced. Cooky is a tad unfortute to have lost his place for the race off. Gave a reasonable account of himself. He will never develop if he isn't given a proper chance
  16. I make my own most of the time now. The team line ups in mine are normally correct as I incorporate all the last minute changes, of which there seems many these days. After all, I read most of the stuff I need in the Speedway Star or on the internet, so why spend £2+ on something that I'm just gonna stick in the attic and forget about..... One home program a season, plus any away meetings I get too or play-off's is plenty...
  17. I can now see Team GB sneaking a bronze at this rate. Denmark and Poland straight to final. Team GB to beat Aussies for the last final spot, then beating Czechs in the final....
  18. Is that another barmy rule? How can Plymouth have first call on Seb, surely as the Stars had him first then we ought to have first priority?
  19. and I also don't understand how Richie Lawson wasn't at least in the squad. He's having a pretty decent run at the moment Middloo seems too intent on looking and who has been good rather than having an real eye for the future. Cookie was a start but nowhere near enough....
  20. So Middlo plays it safe yet again . We ain't gonna win this year or the next cos Team GB just don't have enough top class riders, but if we don't give the young ones a go now it will be even longer before we look like winning. Shouldn't have been Tai and 3 yougsters. But no, we get Harris (another poor season and wasn't that convicing at the N/A last week) and Steady Eddie (who'll score a few points, but has never really shown the ability to turn into a top class international). At least Craig Cook is in but Middlo should have chosen a couple of other younger riders. Don't think Richie Worrall would have been out classed on his home track and should have been given a go...
