Watched a part of coverage on quest, but then wifey wanted TV back mid-evening. Eurosport did still have gp last night online, but racing only, no commentary.

Unnecessary Delays Due To Low Sun ?
kelvinht replied to cyclone's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
perhaps more meetings should be run in the wet, and instead of cancelling for rain, we cancel meeting for bright sunlight At Kings Lynn it does seem to have been a more recent thing (5 to 10 years), but my memory is too dodgy to remember when it became the norm. Tinted visors probably help, but once the riders turn to ride the opposite direction then they can probably see even less, especailly into shaded parts of the track. Need react-to-light visors... Necessary safety thing really, unless promoters can put up boards in the relevant places behind the stands to block out the glare, but they'll be as cost effective and never work like track covers and the rain.... the only thing I would complain about is long drawn out intervals. Maybe two 10 minute breaks for getting food and drinks and a good bit of grading, one after heat 5 and the other after heat 10, then unless its really necessary due to poor track conditons, no other grading should take place and two minute warning should go on as soon as riders are back in the pits from a previous race -
Woffy certainly deserved more for his effort tonight. He was on six points in the race in which he fell after initially getting too much drive coming out of bend two and letting Rory nip in. Pawlicki has certainly got the NA sussed out - what a performance...even the wheelie at the end. All the Stars rode well, only slight concern is Kenneth as he still doesn't seem 100% since returning from his broken collarbone. He gated in one race and won, but in the other 3 races he never really looked like getting past anyone. Hope Ashley is ok. He took a nasty looking fall, It was right in front of me and really don't know how he managed to lose it such a spectacular way.

If I read it correctly we are ok to get on and off the A47 the usual way via the slip roads tonight, but other weeks looks like we won't be so lucky. I'm hoping at 7pm it will have quietened down somewhat, but will try and leave extra time as long as I don't get caught up in the roadworks at Postwick when I leave work near Norwich! i've already decided to give speedway a miss the week of the Norfolk Show - to get through Postwick, passed the showground and then the Kings Lynn roadworks would mean i'd need to leave here on tuesday... :-)

I'm positive the Stars will win this one...unless the rain wins which looks a distinct possibility -

Ever since he left the Stars after a few good seasons in the PL, he has appeared to have forgotten how to ride the NA and had pretty poor scores.... -

Dunno...keep meaning to ask the same thing! -
Kings Lynn 'stars' Vs Coventry 'bees' Thurs 29/05/14
kelvinht replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The new guy is now in his second season and still shows zero knowledge of the sport. His interview questions were awful. The only thing that has improved is he is slightly less shouty. If Edwin wasn't in the box we'd have no decent information flowing. I know we were spoilt with MB, but surely Buster can find someone better than this Glad to hear James and Darren have nothing broken, was an awful crash. -

Yep...he worked a miracle last week with a late down pour...will be a walk in the park (back of a tractor anyway ) for him this week! -

Stars should win this, if (big if) two days of solid rain doesn't make the track a big mess.....even Buster's magic may not save this one -
Bjerre back. Morley for Rose and Bridger for Janowski, for me that makes it a Kings Lynn win for me, maybe enough to take all 4 points...

Kings Lynn Stars V Poole Pirates Thursday 22nd May
kelvinht replied to semion's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Another close one on Thursday, although forecast is talking about showers all day so really hope that's gonna be wrong! If we lose to Poole it's not the end of the world at this point in proceedings, although would obviously be good to get the win. The important thing to is to just try and keep the points ticking over so we end up top 4 by the end of the season. Anything over and above 4th doesn't really matter a jot when it comes to winning the play offs... -
King's Lynn V Swindon 14/05/14 Sky Meeting
kelvinht replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This really could be too close to call. Niels will need to be at his scintillating best to beat Kildemand and Batch as they both go well at the NA. But those 2 Robins will be better than anything else the Stars have on offer, unless Rory can get some decent points on the board. Reserves will hold their own, but as we saw the other week, Steve Worrall will be a real spoiler. Those who think the Stars will win by 10 could be disappointed. Will be pleased with a home win.... -
King's Lynn Stars V Leicester Lions 30/04/14
kelvinht replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Draft reserves works for me with the heats keeping the top and bottom of teams apart it means most races are much closer with riders evenly matched. Anyway apart from me making a mess of my programme and thinking Lynn were only 6 ahead with a few heats to go (can't add up - was too busy getting dust out of my eyes to listen to Edwin properly was my excuse), Leicester were certainly value for money and made for an entertaining match. Also got confused and started cheering Mads on his tactical ride then remembered he wasn't riding for the Stars...doh! Fingers crossed nothing broken for Kenny....Doyle didn't leave him any room what so ever and was lucky not to be excluded himself -

Should be relatively easy for the Stars, but I thought Wolves would be a fairly straight-forward win last week as well, so who knows! -
Nki Is Entitled To Air His Opinions Too

Agreed, but Buster can still sort a decent track the day after he's had the stock cars on it -
King's Lynn V Wolverhampton (23/04/14)

If Lynn were in the PL right now with Lambert riding reckon he would be racking up big scores the hard way, like a young Mr Ward did when he first came over to the UK..... -

Well pleased with that result. Wolves were really unlucky not to get at least a point. Not sure where I'd have used Worrall again tbh, all the Wolves riders were gating at one point or other and even if he was gating he wasn't always fast enough to hold the points. Also not sure of Pawlicki's partner in heat 15, none of the others were really gonna come up against NKI and Kenny. Woffy certainly wouldn't have been a good choice, he just moved over and let NKI pass him up the inside going into bend 1 in heat 13 without even putting up a fight...summat ain't right with the lad, maybe his injuries are still affecting him more than he's letting on? Pawlicki's silencer coming adrift a the start of an earlier heat probably cost Wolves at least a losing point in the end. Thought we might lose tonight during the meeting, but we turned it round and heats 13, 14, 15 were a cracking finish
