King's Lynn v Ipswich KO Cup SF 1st leg 02/06/25
kelvinht replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sensible idea...could even extend to a second ride if RS is injured in first ride to make up their minimum 3 rides. British speedway though, so will never happen. Clearly Ashton wasn't in a good place from his Glasgow match last week. Should have put his hand up and sat out last nights meeting, allowing stars to get a replacement -
King's Lynn v Ipswich KO Cup SF 1st leg 02/06/25

Technically it probably wasn't -1 as he 'injured' his shoulder allowing Kvech to ride in heat 8 so more than evened itself out I'll take 6 points. 8 to 10 would have been better, but at least it's a lead. Hope the rain doesn't cause a call off till later in the season when doyle and Thompson are potentially back - as that will make our life a little bit harder - although Ben would hopefully be back as well... -
Lawson goes to no. 1 in June. Kvech drops to reserve. Ben is still 5th in averages, worst place he could be as limits r/r options

Dunno what I was looking at last night, can't see it now! I blame the wine ...

Craig Cook made a rapid recovery and rode tonight....

Depends where r/r is in the team. Ben Cook is currently 5th, so one above (kvech) and klindt/boughen for the other 3. If klindt has 3 extra rides that's his 7 rides done and (a poorly performing) boughen has to take his full 4 rides. That was why rob gave klindt his 7th ride early against Sheffield and left boughens last one til heat 14...where he knew there could be a chance of being able to use a tactical in that race instead. If Ben was 4th or higher in averages it wouldn't be so bad..

Rob Lyon said on the POE podcast that it would be r/r as lynn riders would be better option than the oxford riders available (Riss was mentioned) Another must win for the Stars, gonna be a close one but hopefully a Stars win - you'd think most of the Lynn riders should have the beating of Kerr, Flint, Sedgeman and hopefully Anders - and are well capable of taking good points of Chris Holder and Picko....Jack Holder might be almost unbeatable....

This team isn't far off what we were running end of last season. Would have hoped we'd have got a bit more momentum now. BV and Sheffield away were always going to be difficult away but didn't expect us to be that poor. We absolutely have to beat Leicester on Monday to turn this around. If we can get a bit of confidence this team can get to the play offs. It's all very well talking about changes but who can you realistically bring in that's better than what we have....?

Nicki Pedersen from 2002-ish I believe.

Kings Lynn Stars vs Oxford Spires KO Cup 24th March
kelvinht replied to StarBoy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Thought we were going to hit 60 at halfway stage. But Oxford found a bit of form and Ben and Nicolai both faded. Ashton was well in the mix and made a good contribution, but Harris was riding too well to not get an extra ride. Gusts was excellent value once he got dialed in. Schroek missed a trick in heat 10, should have put Gusts in place of his love child... Gonna be a good season but we'll meet stiffer opposition for sure. It might be early doors, but 2nd place in the league isn't beyond us -
Good line up above.... But might get a few big names with riders wanting track time at start of season....

Officially announced on Stars news feeds

Woffy might wear a tin foil crash helmet, cos it's lighter

I certainly wouldn't want to be forced to pay for a programme. Rarely buy them these days as I use an app. Petrol and entrance and drinks are enough for me. Not sure why programmes are sold separately - have them available at the box office then if you are paying by card you only pay once and don't have to worry about cash

6.9 was a typo (long day - thats my excuse)....corrected in my post, but if its 2.5% the bald one is right its 6.06
-
according to green sheets - Harris finished 2024 on 6.22 - with his 5% reduction that's 5.909 I think (not sure if that rounds to 5.91 or 5.90) - gives us a little more wiggle room if he is indeed our no. 6

Or kvech or Iversen
