  1. The two minute time allowance should include all the gardening and messing about riders do at the tapes. If they aren't ready then they should be excluded. Much as I love NKI at Kings Lynn, the amount of time he takes to get ready at the tapes seems worse than most riders. ...and if there is a false start, riders should go straight back round. Although watching races from years gone by, as long as riders didn't cause a tapes infringement the ref used to let it go. Don't see why it shouldn't be the same now. If a rider anticipates the start, then he shouldn't be penalised. If he messes himself up or touches the tapes then its his own fault. Net result is less riders hitting first bend together and maybe less first bend incidents.
  2. Team speedway always wins hands down...but has to be UK....and my team or the league my team is in. Happy watching meaningful world championship type events, but run of the mill filler individual meetings rarely do it for me although less stressful than worrying about how my team will perform
  3. I proper shaped race track owned by speedway people has got a much better chance than most. Look what Buster has done at Kings Lynn...
  4. Lets just keep it simple, Stars and Pirates are both struggling to put a full team together due to injures and bans. Scrap the 2nd leg of the semi and let a combined Stars/Pirates team take on Coventry in the final. If KL and Poole win then they share the league championship...simples....
  5. Not bad...55 pages on this thread and we haven't even had the meeting yet. Must be some kind of record!
  6. I get the fact that rain made the track difficult and maybe Poole didn't have the equipment to rectify it in a short timescale, which I can almost forgive. BUT having ruts/holes before the meeting even started is very unprofessional for a supposedly top Elite League track and the promoters should be met with suitable punishment. I can understand why people think Matt did this on purpose as the Stars stood a good chance of winning on Monday and postponing give Poole a better chance of putting together a winning team.....
  7. kerr broken scaphoid. Charles wright in on Monday. How much more bad luck can we have. This is as bad as the start of last season which screwed our 2013

  15. Just to put a dampner on things, rain forecast for tomorrow afternoon, although evening should be dry. Expect Buster to be relaying the track right up to the start time. Where are track covers when you need them...
  16. Kenny really not looking on the pace tonight in the gp, and the off in his last ride won't have helped. Is there really no other decent replacements out there if he is not fit enough to ride.....play-off are really looking a match too far for us, but I'll be cheering the stars on - we are certainly the under dogs
  17. I nearly didn't go with the £25 price tag, but not too many more matches now so decided to bite the bullet. Glad I did as there were certainly some top class races with most of the riders putting in the effort as they obviously wanted to win. Other than the earlier drop outs, I was pleasantly surprised that no one else pulled out at the last minute. Had a sneaking suspicion Batch might win, but the way Zagar started off (even with his exclusion) thought he was gonna win easily, but missed the gate in the final and that was that. Think Rory feared for his life when attempting to pass Milik who was rather wild, in the end not getting past and that may have made the difference between a semi-final spot. Hoping Danny King rides on Monday more like he did last night rather than how he rode in WTC.
  18. half expecting Nicholls and either Bjerre or r/r for Stars, there aren't really any other options unless Zagar is up for it. Of course if Ford has already nabbed Scott to replace Darcy we could be up the shoot without a paddle and left in really unfair position, so in the best interests of the sport we should be allowed to bring in Herbie or Sayfutinov for Niels :-)
  19. Still a half decent line-up with all/most of the riders able to win. May not be up there with the 'good' old days, but we'll hopefully see some decent racing. Couldn't really pick a winner. Still say £25 is a bit steep, but with then end of the season near it's a must go meeting, as long as we don't have more drop outs before tomorrow night.
  20. Someone should have told Rory he was guesting for the Stars. Harris didn't even look like he as trying....be interesting to see how he scores for Coventry. Was a no brainer for Matt to chose us :-( With our injuries and the way Poole ride the NA it was a simple call.
  21. Rambo Lambo has never had a very typical style. I'm sure you are probably right about his a**e - also has the effect of him drifting out on the bends and not being able to keep a very tight line. Having said that he can certainly mix it up with the best of them at times...
  22. Yeah, but it was almost as much fun as two tractors going round in the opposite directions......thought it was going to end in tears, but at least the ref could have called it a case of first bend bunching! Easier win that I expected to be honest, probably not helped by Davey Watt taking until his fourth ride to get amongst the points. Looked disinterested in his first three so maybe bike problems. But a good 6 man display from the Stars and good boost ahead of the play offs
  23. Gives lakeside a good chance now....could turn the match on its head....
